Ace, you should really use some of that money to level and pave a giant parking lot up there. Make sure they have drainage on the payment. This they can put their Temporary houses on that to keep them out of the mud when the rain comes. You should get this done as soon as possible. MKe sure it is laid really thick. It could be the beginning of their new neighborhood. It can be used when you start bringing the shipping containers in. You can line up hundreds of them on a parking lot depending how large you make it. It looks so beautiful on that country hill. The US Military will help, helicopter those containers on the hill. We have the resources in congress who can make it a mission. Our Army Corp of Engineers can have that built in 2 weeks. They can create a tent city and schools so easily. All you need to do is have the Haitians Caucus act. Call your families in the states. They don't need to leave their beautiful land.

Shipping containers come in different sizes. There are 8ft, 10ft, 20ft, and 40ft. Some custom-made shipping container measures up to 65ft at most. Different sizes implied a different An 8ft shipping container cost around $1,450. A 10ft shipping container cost is at $1,980. I am so happy to see you guys going to Haiti and trying to help, not just in one city but in multiple such as Les Cayes, my home city. Great thanks for that. Concerning the materials that they are using for the church in the video at 39:00. Remember Haiti goes through a lot of catastrophes such as earthquakes and hurricanes. Also, know that earthquakes happen less than hurricanes, in Haiti. By using these types of materials (cement/concrete), they protect people and their houses from hurricanes that happen much more frequently than earthquakes. Let's say the roof that they have in the church is excellent when it comes to earthquakes considering that it will cause less damage, but it will cause a lot of damage when it comes to hurricanes which happen every year. Basically, the materials that are great for an earthquake are not good for hurricanes when it comes to houses. Therefore, they have to use the ones that will best fit the catastrophe that happens way more frequently which in this case is a hurricane. That is why they go with the same material again even when it was destroyed days ago (referring to the day that video was posted). Thank you once again for all your help and for actually visiting this beautiful country and city that not so many know about.

I ran across a company that has very good mattresses that are nylon cover treated with an antimicrobial solution that helps reduce the risk of mold, mildew, and other bacteria from growing on the mattress. The cover resists liquid, bodily fluids, medications, and is treated with a fungistatic agent to protect from fungal growth. The fluid-proof cover material prevents bodily fluids from penetrating the fabric which makes the mattress easy to clean while also protecting the core from foreign contaminates. The fire retardant core Passed TB 129. These mattresses are of the same grade and quality as supplied to the US military. If you would be interested in 40ft container load, let me know.

The Haitian elites need to do a better job educating the people about safe constructions. They need to stop using cement block and roof. In Haiti ,a cement roof is a sign of wealth, now it is and will remained a sign of death. 2 earthquake only 11 years apart, they gotta be ready for the next. How about containers. They
are sturdy. Look up on RUclips to see how to do so. A friend told me that the containers are already in Haiti.

I googled earthquaaake proof housing and got these suggestions:To withstand collapse, buildings need to redistribute the forces that travel through them during a seismic event. , cross braces, diaphragms, and moment-resisting frames are central to reinforcing a building. Shear walls are a useful building technology that helps to transfer earthquake forces.Feb 6, 2019

If you're in Les Cayes you have to go to Port-a-Piment to visit Grotte Marie-Jeanne, the biggest cave in the Caribbean and one of the biggest in the Americas. It's about 45 min-1h from Port Salut. It would be great! 😉

What Haiti needs is good building standard, which is monitored by a government department. Before you build with concrete you need to frame the structure using steel. There is a proper standard for mixing concrete.

Yes, Ace, there are cheaper options! There are many ways to get clean water if you don't have $5000 USD laying around. For example, we are next island to Haiti and when hurricanes destroyed our powergrid and water system we could not wait for NGOs or government help. I have Berkey system (Big module) which cost $250 including filters that can last us a lifetime in this household. With $5000 USD you could get 20 of these Berkeys or even more if you get the smaller module without going through a middleman of NGO, charity organizations, etc... Also, cheaper than that is activated charcoal....js...
