I can't believe you're almost at the end of your destashing journey, congrats! I just started mine and honestly, you inspire me to go through with it! ❤
Aww yay! Go, Emma, go!! 🥳
When you give most of your yarn away, rather than knit it, it goes a lot faster!🤣
You have killed it going through your stash this year! Way to go!
I love your goal of replacing well-loved store-bought sweaters with new handmade sweaters. The Citrine Light had caught my eye as well. That will look great!
I am not ready to eliminate my stash, but I have really enjoyed watching you work through yours this year. How exciting that the end is in sight!
I love your planning …
You are so inspiring! From most likely meeting your destashing goals, to your planning and your thoughts about the Westknits MKAL, you are AMAZING!
This will be my first MKAL. I stash dived, have everything including the stitch markers, scissors, tapestry needle and cable needle ready to go in a shopping tote I sewed. October is also my MKAL focus though with a Musselburgh Hat almost half finished to relax while taking little breaks from "Twists and Turns".
It never ceases to amaze me how put together you are
Haha I’m learning a lot about simplifying this year. That helps!
I kid you not, I was about to plan out my projects for the rest of the year today and here you are with this video. Perfect!
I love your Alpenglow!!! I’ll look for you wearing it at Rhinebeck lol
I love the organization and planning!! So inspiring. I feel like I’m in the same boat but would like to plan out my sweaters quantity of yarn so I’m not overbuying. Thank you for the tips!!
I am so excited to see your Diaphanous! It’s was an absolute dream to knit!
I’m doing the same thing trying to clear off projects to focus on the MKAL in October! I’m optimistic I can manage it this year
Thank you for the inspo! I love how yours came out 💕
This video makes me rethink of how to organize my yarn stash 😆❤️❤️
Oooh I've had my eye on that Diaphanous Raglan and Citrine Light too! Can't wait to see how yours turn out!
Hi Natalie I'm excited to see how you go on your planned jumper s, they are going to look gorgeous! Kaye xxx
Thank you!
Hey Nat. Those yarns in whites are absolutely beautiful. Should make nice cozy sweaters for yourself. I think any shade of white, off white, or like eggshell is a fabulous choice for the upcoming winter months. I know some knitters do not like the pure whites or some distinguish it as "Optic White". A personal choice I suppose. Hope to see you wearing them upon completion. Take care. Enjoy the sunshine. Ken
I love all your knitting and can’t wait to see your finished shawl and sweaters
LOVE your MKAL colors!!
Thank you!
I love seeing your planning process Natalie!! Thank you for sharing ❤
You have done a great job in clearing your stash! I’ve done it too (almost) and it’s a great feeling! I love to plan and you are the queen of planning your projects!
Thank you for the podcast.Greetings from Luxemburg 😊
I love that mohair and slub yarn. So pretty!!!
Enjoy that 60s weather there because once you get here to DFW be prepared for the high 90s...
Haha for real 🥵
I signed up for the first time the MKAL. I picked my colors greys and a pop of pink. I'm so excited.
Ooh that sounds amazing!!
Fun video! Just yesterday I cast on a Diaphanous using slub too!
Oooh yay! Can’t wait to see yours!
Question for you? When you break down your knitting to how much you will knit in a particular amount of time. By rows, part of one sweater in the day time and the other sweater in the evening or weekend. It seems to me that having to your knitting so scheduled would take the fun out of knitting. I like just knitting. Working on whatever pattern I’m working on. No stress. Finishing projects in just the right amount of time to wear when I would like to wear it. Working on socks, a sweater for my husband, and a top for me. They’ll all get finished in just the right amount of time. I just like to sit back and relax and knit.
If someone has something like ADHD the scheduling helps with keeping motivated and completing projects. Without the extra pressure executive disfunction can become an issue. Not sure if she has ADHD but just a thought, what works for one doesn't always work for another. But I totally see your point too. With this being her business I can see the need to not loose track of time.
My kit from Stephen and Penelope is stuck in Memphis due to a customs issue... It's been there for 11 days. I'm hoping I get it in time.
I'm in, "deep ADHD," mode about the West knits moal. I'm a dyer and I keep sneaking inventory and changing my mind. Lol!
Lol! It’s fun to be able to have lots of options ready. You can pick when the first Clue comes out!
I loved your advent kits last year, are you getting the same kits this year?
How do you determine what is a sweater quantity? Do you already have the patterns picked out so you know the amount needed?
I'm making a sweater for myself and I'd like to do the prismatic as a tshirt.
Honestly I would take some short sleeve sweaters with you to rhinebeck it can be hot too.
For sure! I’m planning to wear some cute knitting tees under my sweater so I can easily shed layers!
Hi Natalie. Hope to see you at DFW. -lajoyagirl
Yes! Can’t wait to see you, Nancy!
New knitter here, I’ve been struggling with socks and have been contemplating doing the MKAL but nervous it’ll be too advanced for me. Any advice on how to stay motivated with learning a new craft?!
I did that last year. I had been knitting for 4 months. I stayed motivated by joining the ravelry group. He makes videos to show you everything you need to do.
Hey Ihesha! Woohoo! Welcome to the knitting world. I second joining into the community aspect of the make-along. That helps a ton! In the Love in Stitches Membership, we will have weekly Zoom for the MKAL. The Membership opens October 4th!
I was a relatively new knitter when I did the shawl last year. Stephen West does amazing videos showing everything you need to know and it’s all included in the price of the pattern. The shawl wasn’t simple, but just focus on one step at a time and it isn’t complicated. Stephen is a great teacher-very kind, reassuring and since it’s his pattern, he’s the person who’s going to give you the best directions! Good luck and enjoy!
@@Lisa-vb3gn thank you so much!
@@KnittyNatty thank you Natalie. Can’t wait to join in October
What is Rhinebeck knit along?
But if all your knitting plans succeed, how much of the stash is still left?
Well… hopefully zero! But then next year I hope to develop some sort of working/emergency stash. Stay tuned!
Okay I'm confused how many hours a day do you knit, i can knit an adult 2xl sweater in 3 weeks I knit on average 8 hours a day
Wow you are speedy! I would say I knit at least 2 hours a day, but more like 3-4 hours if I’m home that night. Then on the weekends I usually get a bit more time!
100 the last few days - so tired of this and ready for fall and that kind projects. 🧶💕🧶
