    My LS dealer told me that the 40hp, 45, 50, and 55hp models have the same exact engine and total tractor weight. The additional HP is only derived from tuning at the factory. They charge $1,000 for each additional 5hp. I wish I could just buy a tuner to bump it from 40 to 55.

    Not a fanboy but I looked at everything when I bought my little xj 2025. Bottom line for the $$$ the ls was more lift, more warranty, more tractor for $5-6k less than 25hp offerings from green/Orange/other blue tractors. 3 1/2 years later still working like a top (touch wood). I think ls tractors kick a$$ for the price and would reccomend them to anyone. Thanks great honest video. Kev On.Canada

      LS along with Mahindra, Kioti, Tym, and Branson have far more standard features and capacities than similarly priced Deere and Kubota compact tractors. The "big two" are only able to achieve strong sales because of their comparatively enormous marketing budgets along with lots of dyed in the wool green and orange kool aid drinkers.

    I recently purchased the LS 40 horse and I love her, Great features like you say. This video was very helpful and I learned more about my tractor. I don't have a lot of time to read the manual so thank you.

    Saw your review and I agree 100%. I bought a new 2015 XR 4046 back in 2015 and we have around 800hrs on it now. It is one tough tractor. We own a cattle farm an it works great. We also bought some land that was in really bad shape and we used this tractor to do alot of clearing on it. We used it like a bulldozer sometimes. Hands down the best little tractor for the buck you can buy.

    Not sure why anyone would give u a thumbs down. You gave a concise unbiased review of the tractor. I thought you did a great job. I have a MT240HE on order. The only thing that I am not looking forward to is the gas tank behind the seat.

    Very good review Thanks for a job well done. I would like to put my 2 cents in. I purchased a G 3033 Tier 3 engine LS Tractor. 33 HP. The loader lifts 1650 lbs. I respect this machine. I don't abuse it. I have removed decks, graded many yards with loader and 5' dirt dog box scraper. Moved and spread many dump truck loads of dirt and I can honestly say I haven't had 1 thing go wrong. I have approximately 120 hours on it and it is a stout Tractor. Also it's a shuttle shift. I do not like hydrostatic transmissions. Just not my style. People say not to ever get rid of this Tractor because it's a tier 3. Personally I think the government should stay out of the tractor world. Will they demand a tier 5? Some politicians grandson is getting rich off this nonsense. I don't think these tier 4 engines are good for the Tractor. The JD has this heat burning filter that reaches an extremely high temperature under the hood and the fuel tank is next to it. Not sure about that idea.
    Hope you guys have a safe and fun journey with your Tractors. Thanks for listening. 🤓

    I have the same LS XR4046 H as you (mine has a tool box). I haven't had any of the issues you've had other than the Regen cycle kicking in as you say, more often than necessary, I believe. But, I also use my tractor to idle around and deliver stuff in my bucket that I can't carry up and down my hills on the 105 acres of mixed hardwoods that I own. I am adding a grapple kit from Everything Attachments and can't wait for that to get here. I've used it pretty heavy to clear brush, move round bales, box blade my 1/4 mile driveway, mow, till and toss fertilizer/seeds for wildlife plots. Until this year, it was parked outside as I didn't have a covered shed for it and the distance to haul back and forth was to great on a narrow twisty road. Love the raw horsepower and the weight/beefiness of the tractor. It's about 300 hours in and held up well. Only had 1 problem and thinking that's from sitting out in the heavy Mississippi rains. A cable became corroded going to the computer and shorted it out. Both the cable and the computer were replaced for free by my LS dealer. It's parked under a shed now, because I moved to my acreage. I farmed for real in Kansas and had the green tractor. Wouldn't ever go back to that over priced color again. Thanks for your feedback. My dealer was Murphy Brothers in Booneville, MS.

    Time index 13:58
    This is a well known issue with any multi directional hydraulic control levers on LS tractors across the board. I was told by my dealer that this is an issue of assembly at the factory level where these bolts are routinely not torqued down properly. What kills me is that this is still an issue 6 years on since o bought my tractor. The good thing is after the initial fix, I never had another issue with it.

    Today, 11/26/2019, Our LS 55 HP with cab arrived at 6:45 AM just in time to get familiar with before our 6 to 10 inches of snow with a 3 point snowblower and I added a single grapple to the bucket which I used today about 10 times and I already know it was a great add on for $860. We also got a quick connect bale spear to put on and move round bales when needed even in the snow because I can snow plow backwards but it also came in the price with an incredible backup camera. I heard some complaints from people that their backup camera was useless in bad weather so I bought RainX to reduce issues which I put all the way around and I bought Anti fog for the inside of the cab.
    Tomorrow morning the snow is suppose to stop and be deep and I have a lot of snow blowing to do as we own rentals so until tomorrow I won't know how it works but all indications seams just fine!

    That was a real fair assessment of the 4046. I have a 2012 3033, and most everything you pointed out on this model was also true for mine. It doesn’t take long to get the bugs worked out, and then you will have a great tractor that you got for a real good price.

      Thanks Roger, I've had 5 LS tractors, including a 3025 and a 3010 and they just flat out work. If you note in some of my other videos, there may be a few other tractor colors in the background so folks know I'm not just a one brand guy so to speak. I picked up an R4047 pre emission model not too long ago and once I hit about 125 hours or so I hope to post an update with that one as well. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for this really thorough review. I am looking at this very tractor in the 50 hp model. Hadn't really thought that much about an LS, was looking at Mahindra, Kioti, TYM etc and others in this category. LS seems to be an up and coming tractor for this type of utility application. Again, thank you for the great review.

      I've owned a lot of tractors from Kubota, Deere, Mahindra, etc. They all have pluses and minuses, and I continue to use other brands for business and hobby; my personal opinion is for me, LS just has a great combination of what the competition offers for less $. Thanks for watching.

    I have a LS tractor it's a 3135 with the cab and you're right it is simple it's easy absolutely no problems in the several years that I've had it and I think that's why people like them so much is because they're simple and easy they're just they're just a tractor not a whole bunch of bullshit on them to go wrong

  • @semco72057
    @semco72057 7 лет назад +2

    That seems like a nice tractor, and I wish there was other dealerships in my area so I had more of a choice before I chose the tractor I just purchased. I ended up having to buy a John Deere since that was the only dealership near where I live.

    • @American-OutdoorsNet
      @American-OutdoorsNet  7 лет назад +2

      Thanks for watching. If its a certain type or brand of tractor then I'm willing to travel for it. While I have owned probably more Kubotas over the years and there are no LS dealers within 2 hours of me, I have no qualms with drive time. My neighbors mostly have the green tractors and though they have nothing but good things to say, I just haven't been able to pay the premium they command.

    • @semco72057
      @semco72057 6 лет назад +1

      I am not crazy about the regen systems on the new tractors and that worries me. The control panel already have a crack on my newer tractor and that worries me about the John Deere brand. I guess everyone is using cheaper components on their tractors now and that is where I still love my older tractor.

    I had a boomer 37 for about a month before I sold it. It regenerated every 4 hours and took 30-40 minutes to complete every time. The light came on at the most inconvenient times such as when you wanted to shut it down. You cannot shut it down with that light on. So you sit there for 30 minutes at high rpm and you can literally see it consume a ton of fuel to do the regeneration. That was a deal breaker for me. How ignorant is it that I am causing tons of wear on a tractor with clogging the exhaust system up, using a ton of fuel to burn it off, and causing a ton of heat to do so. Think about it, just the amount of extra fuel you use means someone is drilling more for fuel and driving it with a SEMI_TRUCK to deliver it so you can be green. The people that believe these systems are helping are clueless.

    Appreciate the info you presented. This is about the size of tractor I'm interested in upgrading towards. There are 2 other brands that are in the running and that is Kioti and Branson. Not that it's directly related - but someone at a tractor shop indicated that the LS and Branson were the same tractor. I"m not sure if that's true.

    • @American-OutdoorsNet
      @American-OutdoorsNet  6 лет назад +2

      I've been impressed with the Kiotis that I have used in the past. Branson and LS do not share any common parts, either body or mechanical that I am aware of. If there was a single item I'd point out that separated the LS from a few of the other models I have owned, for me it was the sub frame. Once a tractor owner becomes comfortable, they can tend to become a little over confident over what they can do with a tractor. A strong subframe is good insurance when working your tractor/implements to their limits. Thanks for watching.

    My old tractor, a 1977 Long, made in Romania, is used for rough mowing through brush and saplings. Looks as if the LS has a somewhat exposed fuel tank and the power steering cylinders could be damaged by saplings. Is my observation correct?

    • @American-OutdoorsNet
      @American-OutdoorsNet  5 лет назад +1

      The tank is bracketed by the subframe, step and tires so imo you would have to be in very heavy thickets.

    What's the diff between hydrostatic and shuttle transmissions... I notice the options are 3 position and 12 position... Not sure what that means either...

    • @American-OutdoorsNet
      @American-OutdoorsNet  6 лет назад +4

      Hydrostat is more or less an automatic transmission. Stab and steer. You can change the range but direction is controlled by the two pedals on the floor. Shuttle transmission uses a clutch. Direction (forward/reverse/neutral) is controlled with a lever on the dash. Three ranges or "position" is low medium and high range, and each range has 4 speeds, thus a total of 12 speeds.

      None yet that have made me rethink owning LS tractors. I've done three reviews on LS models and owned more than that. Any issues have been minor, ie loose loader control valve nut, sticking hood latch. I've owned JD, Kubotas, New Hollands and they are all top level IMO. The LS tractors are just as good for less money.

    • @311hitwall
      @311hitwall 6 лет назад +2

      I just wonder how build quality can vary so much. Can read another owner's experience and you would think LS is the worst tractor made.

    • @American-OutdoorsNet
      @American-OutdoorsNet  6 лет назад

      I am acquainted with someone who purchased an LS and wasn't happy with it. I get that. I've owned several dozen tractors from the blue, orange, green, and red families. Even products built thru robotics are subject to failure. I can only respond to what I have owned and used. The 3025, 4046, a K5055 for a short time and an R4047, all of which more than did the job for me.

      The Kubota B3350 has a horrible reputation and deservedly so. I wouldn't own another one. They are Tier 4 nightmares.
      I also have little good to say about the John Deere 2305. In fact I was "sorry."
      I have no brand loyalty and have enjoyed most of the big name tractors, but price and color is no guarantee of quality.

Just look at their military hardware and ship building prowess! The JD in this HP range, I believe is built across the street from the Mahindra in India. Case/I.H. is built in Turkey. You've got Japan or Germany to choose from. OR you can buy a Chinese piece of crap. LS was already building tractors for Ford New Holland for years. Just asking!
