- Welcome to the new reality show series "Hanging with the Herberts" where Josh & Abbie get candid and invite the cameras in to capture the chaos of life with a baby and a toddler.
EP. 01 - Empty House Tour : Kicking off the new series Josh & Abbie invite you into their brand new home. This has been a dream come true for the couple. There were lots of road bumps along the way but their vision came to life in the end. They couldn't be more excited to show off their space and spill the beans on all their design secrets.
Truly, Josh is such a creatively gifted, extremely capable and brilliant man. His attention to detail.. and visionary abilities, are next level. This is SUCH a beautiful home. It's very reminiscent of the simplistic, streamlined and super sleek futuristic modern Clockwork Orange architecture.
I absolutely love it. And the flute panelled feature work throughout the home.. looks absolutely sTuNnInG! 🌳

Abby!! That closet would make a perfect war room to pray in! The house is so beautiful. Great job thinking about the details like hiding the return vent in the bedroom, and the slightly slanted flooring for drainage. I think the convection oven is such a beautiful piece. The playroom being near the larger living space truly shows that your children come first. I love that your mom is staying with you. What a treat to have family close by.
Yes! we love having everyone in one space in the house.. that's why we did such an open flowing first floor plan!

Today i listened to “In our little world” and “Ohio” i had to hold back tears such a strong voice such kind and meaningful words for Abbi Josh is truly a good man. Abbi I always knew was remarkable and great to hear how Josh sings about her with such passion tells me I’m not wrong. I wish you two nothing but a long long life in this beautiful home together I pray that your family grows as you wish/meant to be. beautiful memories to make in this house to come I’m so excited to see your first Christmas.

The house is the DREAM. Love it that it’s surrounded by nature and trees ❤.
Your home is beautiful! I see a lot of Japanese influence in your design choices--the nature, clean lines, wood paneling, the lights. I love that it has a modern, clean, upscale flare. I think American trends are heading in the direction you designed in the next year or two.
What i really like about this fam is how they remain so humble, living a simple life before having their new home! U reli got a plan there! Love it!

Wow!! Your house is seriously perfect! I love the light fixtures being from an actual artist. The walls look so neat with the slats. I don't know the correct word for them. Very nice, guys! I loved that Josh jumped in the pool. I love that you kept it as just a basic beautiful pool. I'm glad it all came together before fall gets here. You will still have a couple of months to enjoy it. Will you be putting a gate around it? You must video the first time Poppy gets in & realizes it's hers!!

This whole house is THE dream guys! 😍 Honestly, I'm in love. My favorite room is the bathroom by far! Just wow. All the rooms are amazing, but this one is so aesthetically pleasing. The wait was so worthy & it actually paid off, the outcome and the dedication y'all put into this, while having 2 little humans that you both need to look after and raise.. it's beyond impressive. You are superhumans. Congratulations Herberts! I hope you will have the best memories ever😊❤

WOW, i am so impressed at the idea that Josh designed this home. It’s undeniably breathtaking. I am so excited for your family 😍 also, I can’t wait for the induction cooktop video! We are currently in the process of closing our home, and the whole house is electric! It came with an induction stove, and I’m nervous because I’ve never cooked with one! Lol

Hi, guys! Beautiful home. Just one recommendation: I would switch the big light on top of the future dining table because it’s blocking your beautiful view. I’d switch it to a different light feature were you could see through like a chandelier and that would make the view more grand from the entryway 😊 Just a suggestion, of course. It’s your home ❤

Congratulations! That sphere light in the big room though reminds me of the moon in Ariana Grande's Sweetener tour and Josh mentioning Noguchi made me recall similar lights with Troye Sivan's home in an AD tour. The separate interview shots are also giving reality TV vibes and I'm here for it!

I’m not into there being no separation at all between the entry and the open plan of the rest of the space, but it’s their home so it doesn’t matter how I feel about it if they’re happy

I missed this episode. The house is just beautiful. I love the spa feel throughout. I'd have to have a meditation room though. That's just me. A waterfall. Or maybe not because I'd feel like I'd have to pee all the time. Josh your attn to detail is impeccable.
I only have one suggestion. You guys are in a very wooded area. If you've never had problems with months...let me tell you. My best cashmere's, pashminas, wools, coats, etc have been ruined by them. Moth balls stink. Cedar works but you have to resurface it and add oil every year. I finally zipped up my precious designer things and bought racks to hang them. It is my hope you have no issues with them. However, if you do, plan an attack.
The floor to ceiling windows remind me of the house in “When A Stranger Calls”. It looks terrifying to walk through without a privacy fence. And I hope you get a fence with an gate & alarm around that pool and teach your babies survival swim lessons asap. I wouldn’t own a pool if my kids didn’t know how to swim.
yup! Poppy is currently in survival swim school. We have an auto cover that and elephant can stand on that will be over the pool most always unless we are out there using it.. I have alarms for the pool and all the doors and windows. We have a large fence going in as well around the entire backyard and lots of woods. If the open windows are bothering us down the road we can always add the automatic shades to any of them.. were going to live in it for a little then decide.
Loved the documentary/comedic single interviews 👌🏻 😂 congrats! One tiny OCD thing - in Abbies dressing room, I’d put plastic cover caps in the wardrobes to hide the holes 🫶
I'll do you better... we have ones that match the exact wood so when she puts them where she wants them I can fill the remains holes!
This gave me so much Inspo for my home. We have these cabinets that are identical in style and color but the previous owners added handles. 😅 I can’t bring myself to change the cabinets out because it would be over $100k since they run throughout the entire 5600sqft home. I did just find a picture for the fireplace with the wood slats but in black- getting tile ripped off next week Saturday 🎉 this was a great video!! Thank you!
take handles off and plug the holes they left! get push to open hardware inside the cabinets, that would be what I would do! - Josh
@@TheHerberts crazy you say “plug them” because all day I was asking myself if I could do that. I didn’t think about changing the push to open hardware- I’m sold. Just need to do a little research on where to get everything. Thanks for all that info!
