Kudos to the customer for attempting to do their best and knowing when to stop and let someone else take over. There's no shame in making an attempt and knowing when to give up. 👍 Experience is something we gain only after we've needed it.
Glad I got this as a suggestion because the 2009 and still running 'RUclips unsubscribe bug' got me..... I dont know how many vids i've missed but now i can binge a few as i work lol.
I bought some old circuit boards and all necessary tools to practice De soldering but even with the iron and blower set at 460 c still have trouble melting the original solder away from the components. Very frustrating.
Just because a hot air station is set to 460c does not mean it delivers that temperature out of the nozzle. If you are trying to take something off a ground plane it will suck up all that heat.
Yes I have all the necessary tools low melt, correct flux. I am a retired metal fabricator/welder and know what is needed, guess I will have to either persist or buy more expensive equipment.
use low melt solder. it mixes with the existing solder. and for thru hole components, get a good solder sucker. i soldered new switches into my expensive mechanical keyboard as a first time soldering project, and a solder sucker is the easier way to get solder out of the thru holes that i found. before i had a good solder sucker and low melt solder, i was putting so much force on the keys i broke a few of them because i could not melt all of the solder on the two pins at once. i was just using a cheap 30w soldering iron. i made a lot of mistakes and bricked the keyboard. but after spending 8 hours soldering 104 keys i was not giving up and bought a new keyboard, and before even using it i ripped it apart and started unsoldering the keys. the 2nd time with the proper tools went about 3x as fast and did not destroy the keyboard. i use it every day still.
Anyone else having a hard time getting a quote to get work done? I understand if they're busy but the quote time said 1 hr and it's been about 5 days. My video card is 3080ti and with a black screen.

Masterful. Amazing the skill required to do this work. It's one thing when the wire is 1inch it's a much different story when the wire is 1mm.
I like the blue. I read the blue makes the electronics faster! :)
Blue on green makes me sad honestly
Some repair ASMR before bed 🙏🏽
everytime you fix better than factory :) thank you so much..

You did an amazing job, I'm just sitting in the audience 😂
Nice work as always
What is that piece of metal in the gap? It looks like a paperclip.
Part of the ejection mech
Nicely done 👍
I wonder what Flux tastes like
I’ve wondered that also 😂😂😂😂
There are doctors that will help you with that.
Don’t. Now you know some moron will try it. 🙄
Doesn't taste good
Probably like sweet death?
wow and peace be upon you sir from me
amazing job 👌👌👏👏
Bro, the blue UV light destroyed my eyes🤣
nice job. steady hand ... you should have been a surgeon LOL
Wouldn't you cover the soldered pads with UV cover so they don't move? Saving a dime? LOL
Then what would you connect the pins to?
@@danielpowers5891 Sorry, what? Solder the pins to the tracks with wire, cover all with the UV mask including the port pins.
You typically won’t do that so you can also repair it in the future. It wasn’t sealed from the factory that way.
@@kiwichess how would you unsolder it if you glue it on?

"Low melt solder is your friend"
If it's unleaded solder, it has a higher melting point. Try mixing in leaded solder first before using hot air.

When traces are broken, you can never be better than factory
You must be new around here.
No
@@ksenchy Then you should know the saying. It’s not meant to be literal.

Love from Pakistan.
Honestly, nothing worse than a prior repair attempt lol.. 🥲🥲
Well at least they tried and will learn from the mistakes. Hopefully.
