I'm going in for cataract surgery in two weeks. I asked for a zoom microscope lens to be implanted in my eye to have robot like magnification without glasses. But of course they rejected my cool idea. Thanks Sorin. How are your eyes these days?
My father was short-sighted - very much so: -8.25 in each eye. Anyone who is short-sighted will know that you have a built-in magnifying lens as you can work very close to your eyes. I am the same & it is a facility that I value. He had to have cataract surgery and asked for the same -8.25 lens. The surgeon refused, point-blank. They compromised on - if I remember rightly - about -4.00.
1. A Good Microscope, either optical or digital (optical is better for details, but some preffer digital because of neck, back and eye strains) 2. A good bench power supply, one with capabilities of at least 30V 5A to start, and preferably linear instead of switching. 3. Thermal Camera for finding problems faster and easier 4. A good set of tools, solder iron, hot air gun rework station, pliers, tweezers, desoldering wick, soldering wire 180°C and ROSIN, ROSIN IS ALWAYS GOOD 😅 There's more to it, but this one is the bread and butter of repairs. Maybe thermal cam is optional to start, but definitely worth it for easier works and time savings.
Microscope is like #1 tool, right behind power supply and lights, lots of lights on the ceiling. Without lights your eyes constantly adjust when you look around and long term you go blind short term you don't see as well. And these are cheap microscopes we have, if you get into it, cheapest microscope from china with proper lenz coating is about 600 bucks just for the head, clamp and stand is not included in this price. That makes a large difference I heard guys saying. More light reaches your eye because of coated lenzes and design, and you see more. You could see a cracked resistor with those things, whereas with cheap microscope you will not notice it.
a microscope makes a big difference in boards repair its good to see solder flows to tiny smd components but then i realized that i needed a barlow lens for a larger field of view and a long working distance because i felt that the hot air could easily damage the lens also a rotating arm and a polarized ring light are necessary imo
I bet the moment Sorin sees the amp draw behavior his brain instantaneously tripped the "possible liquid damage" alarm, that's why there was no "we have picture", it was super easy pizza for him.
I've learned from you so much and you are motivating me to also be a repair guy in the near future. I also was interested to know what was your background prior to Laptop , Did you took courses in Electronics?
He has some videos where he talks about it. There's a video when he's assembling his setup at home where he talks about the microscope. There's another video where he compares about 4 cameras to record the microscope view. I can't find it for you right now, but they are available on this YT channel.
Hi Sorin, easy pizza today...yea with microscope u increase a lot possibility of repairs and in same case i think is impossible without especialy on new mobo like apple one and even other... the integration today is so high that you can do without.... noe i have a cheaper one cino.. but i'll like to by AmScope H800 Series H800-96S-AF22 but the seel all with the stand.... i prefer Digital One because off i never use optical one especialy for the confort in working looking strait in front of you big monitor if possibe without having to move up and down your neck all time.... give me your valutation of the product and if know where to only the microscope with digital camera.... without stand i have doing myself modifing a fume extratcor one.... bye Francesco Timpano from Florence Italy any suggest accepted

Perfect video for the morning coffee☕
Or breakfast pizza
Great video Sorin. Thanks.
I'm glad you get these laptops to share with us. How come the shops that send them to you don't do these checks?
they might be very busy or careless or they dont want to do a motherboard job
I was expecting "We have picture! That's craaaazzyyy!" hehe but we didn't get it lol :)

Another EP🍕 Repair .... Nice! 😃
do you use alcohol to clear the liquid damage?
What an easy Pizza Hut big sliced pizza. Thanks Sorin
U know when a video is 12 mins long is domanoo hoos time
Perfect Easy Pizza! Well done!
Also small things shall not be overseen.
Very Nice! 😎😎😎
We have Yvideo !
Hello Sorin, greetings from Romania, what are the specs of your microscope?
Zoom:
Sensor size:
He has some videos where he talks about it. There's a video when he's assembling his setup at home where he talks about the microscope. There's another video where he compares about 4 cameras to record the microscope view. I can't find it for you right now, but they are available on this YT channel.
Now the computer repair shop has to share their pizza with Sorin.
Today I have gotten you live.
Nice one
I use smartphone connected to OBS studio with basic controls available on OBS 😁.
We have picture...This is crazy... 😅
Why “local computer shop” can’t clean board?
I was wondering the same. It was on the top of the board as well. Not worthy of Sorin’s skills!
they might not really see the liquid damage, as Sorin said
maybe they don't have microscope
@ Might be worth a computer repair shop investing in a cheap one (or a magnifying glass) 😉
Anyone else ever wondered if that's Diana's toothbrush ?
nice video , EZ 🍕
Another easy pizza.
It only requires a small amount of corrosion to cause all sorts of strange faults.
When I see computers with only a single ram... x_X
Like a slice of pizza
👍
💗💗💗
🥰
👍👍👌👌
YES !! 🍕🌭🍰🍦...🤣

Well a microscope is indeed a good investment same as a thermal heat camera.
