I want to thank Sandra for having this channel. This channel is always my go-to for learning a new standard. Sandra’s lessons really help me a lot. Playing the chord melody helps me really hear the voice leading of the melody and become more familiar with the chord changes and drop 2 3.
I love all your work, dear Sandra. Your detailed explanations clarify and simplify jazz for us. You are a jazz master and the best professor in the whole world. Thank you so much for all you do.
Love this, Sandra! What a great melody ❤️. Wiiiitch craft… And, for the first time … happy Saturday! Great insights along the way, as always. Highlight of my day😳😁
I like that it has more than just the usual 2 sections. I particularly like the section after Wiiitchcraft. So much fun to add some ghost note groove there.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Well, I really like those 'colour' chord extensions, 6ths, 9ths. 11ths, 13ths, they really make music just that much more interesting. I was really pleased when I first discovered them and realised just what it was I used to like about jazz tunes. Yes, the piano can do 'more' - left hand one chord, right hand another, adding to complexity, but guitar ain't no slouch either, and in the hands of good players, well . . . So thank you, Sandra.
I have a guitar query and here's as good a place to pose it as anywhere. Here goes: I'm teaching myself all the diatonic 7 chords inG major scales. I'm playing the scales in their boxes (e.g. 2-5, 5-7, 7-10, 10-12 and 12-15) and creating the diatonic 7 chords using the scale fingering. This has worked out easy for boxes 2-5 and 5-8. However, I've hit a few roadblocks. On the 7-10 box (B-D on thickest string) I can't figure out a D7 without stretching my hand all the way from the 5th fret of the G string (C) all the way to the 10th of the 6th (D/root). (0,0,5i,7m,9r,10p) Is that correct? Or is there a more elegant solution to finger this chord? Sadly, I cannot read pdfs/jpegs to get the answer for myself.
Why can you not read PDFs? There's a D7 an the 7th fret. (xx7778). I have a lesson for exactly that here on RUclips, but if you can't read chord diagrams...
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman I can't read pdfs (nor any diagrams in any format) because I am blind. Thanks for that chord suggestion (I already figured that one for further up the 5-7 scale). However it doesn't work for the scale position where the D root note is on the 7th fret of the 6th/thickest string.
Sorey, I didnt6get it righr5that you are blind. There's a D7 in that area, from lowest string to highest: xx7778. The D9sus for is a replacemwnt chord that sounds also great: 10 x 10 9 8. Or D9: 10 x 10 9 7

Tried to like but it won't go 👍
Thx. Appreciate it and will subscribe 😊
You mean the like button doesn't work? That would be odd, since youre6obviously logged in, or you weren't able to comment either.
Lovely track, long been one of my favourites, I have the Jimmy Bruno version on my iPhone. I like your lessons, but they are not the easiet. Servus.
I try to keep the arrangement simple. But Jazz generally is challenging 😉.

Jimmy Bruno’s version of this song is the best
