Thanks for this. It would have taken me much longer to figure out how to use it on my own. I watched this video last weekend, and yesterday, I purchased Wonderdraft. I was able to jump right in and use it with the relative ease. I even imported some of my hand drawn maps!
I bought Wonderdraft a long time ago and only tinker with it from time to time. I've been 'building' my world with other tools, but always plan to do the final pass in Wonderdraft. This was a great tutorial to go through as a refresher to keep my skills with the program up to snuff.
Yep getting both this and Dungeon Draft very soon. I have seen WAY too many good things to pass them up. Ive used CC+3 and have liked it but this and Dungeon Draft seem to be MUCH easier to use will little headache involved. Not only that but also I can save the map as a UVTT and just do a direct import to Foundry. You are awesome and this is something I will be referencing when I create my world map
@@AvantNovis Oh i have been. I think I can make due with what comes with it, but I am looking at other assets. as for DungeonDraft I'm looking at the DungeonDraft Integration 3.0 Patron Pack from Forgotten Adventures (if its like the other one there are over 130k assets of all types). I love their artwork.

I like the heavily forested area in the north because folks often don't realize how deforested Europe is and for how long it has been. Especially since the 1700s. Same with large swaths of America.
Is there a way to place towns and cities as simple dots instead of buildings and structures? I think for a continent map, these buildings are kind of out of place and make a continent or even a country look small. I've found a circle with a star in it in the symbols, but that seems better suited for capitals. Is there a simple dot for cities somewhere in the symbols?

There is an option to add a grid and change its size to establish scale. Let me find a video on how I did that. Also your image needs to be a .bmp or a .png to add it as a overly
Hummm.... Great questions. I think it would be similar. Start with the basic shape of the valley, add the highest point, then figure out where the erosion would take place and color accordingly.
Nice tutorial! Just started using the program. Do you know if you can select a piece of land, an island of continent for exemple, and move around the map? In case you draw an island/continent but on the wrong spot or justa wanna move someplace else?

I'm trying to make a world map in the shape of a realistic planet. I've made a sketch of it in krita and saved it as a jpeg and a png file. Is there a way I can put the image of that map in as a layer and draw a map in Wonderdraft over it?
you can use the map you made and put it in as an overlay and use it to trace a map in wonderdraft. Other than making a black and white copy to import there is not a way to use a layer in wonderdraft. Let me see if there is a video on how to import it.

This guy feels like I'm watching Bob Ross paint and I'm not complaining. lol this is so relaxing and informative at the same time.
You are the Bob Ross of cartography. Love it, watching it with my son.
Thank you so much
That is exactly what I was thinking!!!! The whole time I have “Please say, ‘happy accident’” in the back of my mind. 😂

Super helpful, thank you! I finally created a map last night but wish I had see this first, even if just for the symbol selection and colour blending.

This is great. Is it possible to import existing maps, Europe, Africa for example and then trace your own version over it??
Yep I have a few videos show how. Let me see what I can find
Great!
Hello, very good videos that you make. Now a silly question, create the map of a valley. Would the procedure be similar? Greetings. 😉

I was about to say you can’t, but now that I think of it I don’t know. Let me dust it off and see what I can find
I love this style… is there a way that you can create a layer with an actual real map so that you can trace its outlines?
I'd like to know the same thing. I'd like to import the maps I drew freehand years ago and trace them in Wonderdraft.

The city symbols are part of the default symbols included in wonder draft.

can you share the rbg amounts for your brushes?

I use my stylus all the time in wonderdraft! as for a 2 in 1 lap top i'm not sure but it should work

thank you for this. is Wonderdraft compatible in windows 11 by the way?
Yes it is. Thank you for your kind words

How do you do zoom in and out?
Hold Ctl+ mouse scroll button
can you rotate the objects or symbols
