      That's where Petty won most of his races,on dirt. And David was a regular at Greenville-Pickens before it was paved.

      A little later in his career and David Pearson rarely ran the small tracks, sticking mostly to the super speedways and the big money.

    I was there my dad had race cars there our home track Don Tilley and Allen Rankin drove for his team late model sportsman

    Pardon my ignorance, but 250 miles on a short dirt track?! They'd be worn right out at the end of holding on to the ragged edge for that long!

      It's not 250 miles. In the beginning of the video the announcer says it's a 100 mile race. It was common in the 50s and 60s for the distance named in many races, for example Hickory 250, to be the number of laps not the number of miles. Hickory is, or was, a 0.4 mile track.

    The commentator's attempts to sound "folksy" are cringe-worthy. That sort of corn was a regular feature of these old videos.
