Thank you for your helpful installation video for this heater. I intend fitting the smaller 10 litre under sink model in my son's new flat which does not have gas and therefore all electric. I know that these Ariston water heaters have a sacraficial anode to help prevent the tank corroding. I believe the anode has to be checked annually and replaced if necessary. I have read that if not serviced regularly the tanks can corrode rendering the whole unit useless.
@@PlumbingDoctors do you know if these will give hot water to a few sinks? Or woild i need to oirchase a seperate one for every sink. We have just got a new shop and theres no central heatimg at all and we need hot water for 3 sink and a hair back wash
This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).
Thanks for your video ! Can I ask if I need to fit one of these 10L under kitchen sink- next to mecerator pump for waste, can discharge pipe be connected to the waste pump ? Thanks
@@PlumbingDoctors My understand was those dielectric fitting was to stop the tank from rusting. Mash’Allah very informative video. What do you put the overflow from the tundish into? Is it like into the existing 32mm waste for the basin? Or do you run the copper all the way out of the building?
@@PlumbingDoctors sorry what I meant was where so you run the discharge into? It’s difficult for us to run out of the building as it’s for a bathroom in the middle of a residential flat so wondering if it’s possible to run the overflow into for example the water for the basin?
AWW bro. I need a hot water tank for a rental studio flat for 2 people, property has a kitchen sink, basin in bath room and a bath tub . What do you recommend please... something that dosent require a seprate fuse Thankyou
I've been doing some research. I don't think you handled the pressure relief plumbing correctly... love to hear your comments. I think the PRV should drain through a visible air gap for two reasons: 1) if there is a leak to the valve (apparently pretty common), you'd like a way to see this. 2) prevent bacteria from backing up into potable water supply.
Good installation - but the nylon unions you didn't use are not for tap connectors, they are DIELECTRIC unions and are to stop corrosion within the unit. Without having them installed the warranty is void. I'm not knocking the video in anyway, it's just I've installed 100's of these units and have dealt with ariston directly.👍
@@PlumbingDoctors I believe you can get them as spares Plumbing Doctor 👍 great channel you have 👍 like I said in my first post - it wasn't a dig at your installation but just some information for you. No one knows everything, we are all learning every day 👍 keep up the good work Sir
Before i start, no offence i watch many of your videos and i think you are great, but 1,did vessel not come with fixing kit?if it fails,is it not gonna be too heavy with it dangling in the air like that? 2,im sure you have to use the plastic fittings(dielectric junctions) otherwise u’ll invalidate the warranty, apparently its to prevent electrolytic corrosion. 3,in the diagram,it is a draw off point, not a drain off point, sure u know that, u probably just said it wrong. Again. Please dont take offence, please correct me if im wrong, you put up great vids i have learned lots from you 👍
Building a salon next to our house for my partner, and thinking of using the 30 litre one for the wash hair basin, fitted loads of these but never actually used them so don’t know how practical they are. Do you think the 30 litre one would be suitable or am I better off using an instant hot water one? Good install by the way
What are your thoughts about fitting these at lower levels? We have one fitted under a counter at our house which has worked fine for years but when I asked Ariston they said they couldn’t honour a warrantee if I fitted a new one under a kitchen counter. Do you know if there is a physical reason why it can’t be done if there is enough room. Any comments appreciated, thanks 👍🏼😊
Hi, I have one of these heaters that’s lost it’s power for some time, I’ve just had the power reinstated but the water is not getting hot? Is there a reset or something that must be done?

you do if the thread are longer on the iron than the connection on the water heater may not make a good seal with rubber washer especially when using fittings that are not supplied
You’re meant to put the dielectric fittings on, to stop electrolysis, NOT so you can put flexi tap connections on them 😂😂😂. The 1/2” female copper to irons can still connect onto the dielectric fittings. 🤯

Compression 40mm equal tee with a reducer

you can buy other ones which are deigned to go under
Bro, i just had a 15l undersink heater installed. Does it require a expansion vessel? My plumber installed without one :(
I see that the expansion valve is for European market only, but I have to say I would fit one
It depends on incoming pressure and other things but i always fit one
So the smaller the litre does it cost less to run? As I was thinking of the 3000w 220volts
Go for less KW rating to save money
Hi, I have one of these heaters that’s lost it’s power for some time, I’ve just had the power reinstated but the water is not getting hot? Is there a reset or something that must be done?
Yes there is a reset switch on the immersion check manufacturer service manual
The bends that you did at the pressure relief at the top and the pressure reducing valve would have been good to see

Would one of these be able to cope with a shower or a bath? Or would you need to a system with a cylinder?
nope not enough water for a shower or bath - use a cylinder instead
Hi, I have got the same one, it keeps overflowing all the time, what do you think the problem is? Thanks
Can you use plastic pipe? TIA
Yes I don't see why not
So I bought one yesterday. After installation the water is only getting luke warm, any advice?
Do the pipes have to be soldered or are compression fittings OK to use. Soldering is a much tidier job I know but I'm just curious

Did you really need to use the PTFE tape ?
