I have enjoyed my S22 Ultra and I just received my S25 Ultra . I'm satisfied with the upgrade .
Thanks for video. Will stick with my 23U and 24U combo and await to see what arrives next January.

@@yuppp7204 Agreed, but having overcome any guilt for self-indulgence on the purchase of shiny new tech without credit at an early age, it is sometimes difficult to resist temptation!
Last year, the AI offerings intrigued me and the pre-order was registered 10 minutes before the end of the presentation. It took many months to completely update the previous model.
At the start of this year’s Galaxy Unlocked it was no means a foregone conclusion that I may not have ended up termporarily with all three. However, common sense prevailed, despite the impressive 40% performance improvements in many features. I am not a gamer.
I do love Samsung’s approach of giving absolutely no information on its performance as a phone, number of SIM’s, network capability etc.
If i had an s22 ultra and wanted to upgrade. And the options were s25u or s24u, if they cost the same id go woth s25u, but if the s24u was almost 50%cheaper id 100 percent get an s24u. Thermal improvments are a big deal if the extra speed of the phone was important, but for most it is not. The 8 gen 2 is a beast, the 8 gen 3 is god tier and the 8 elite is overkill.
And to be totally honest, id consider an s23 ultra. Since the screen is punchier indoors and it has a better zoom lens than the other two.
All the ai improvments are so incremental over the 24u, and to be fair, when i got my s24u i found at soon after that my s22u was getting all the same ai features (most).
All samsung had to do was use the new battery tech, increase charge speed and improve the camera sensors and id have forgiven them for making the phone significantly more ugly than last year.
edit: i made the following comment *before* watching the video. now that ive watched it it is indeed impressive. each year these phones keep getting more and more advanced, and each year upgrades look more and more impressive 😮

@@WhatGearhey boss i foolishly commented before watching the video. now that i have watched it, just wanted to say thanks for making such a detailed comparison, especially with the thermal camera. while my ancient S22 still works okay for me, theres no doubt that the 25 is an impressive upgrade, especially for mobile gaming performance.

S25U is a significant bump in performance from S24U, a lot of folks probably don't need this and that's understandable, changes will be more software based year on year in general. I think the days of significant design appearance jumps are over but for every 4 to 5 years, kinda like cars! Cell phones are now physically matured for the most part.
That's a really big leap. I've been watching some camera comparisons and I'm really happy with Samsung this year. This is a big improvement on camera processing
It's seems there's quite a divide some people don't think much has changed. That's the main reason I wanted to make this one

I was surprised by the improvement in s25U camera and I traded in my s24U immediately at the store to pre book s25U.
Actually S25U will never beat OP13 in gaming. Those 4 degrees more at the batter give +50% bigger lowest loop score. And not to mention that the average FPS number will be even more in favor of OP13. From what I see as scores/temperatures, seems to me that it's the other way around - OP13 has the better cooling!

I'm curious about the temperature difference between the S24U and S25U when playing Genshin on the same route for about 10 to 15 minutes
This phone sucks . The s24 ultra is better and Samsung literally updated it to kill the battery. . And when the 26 is out it's gonna be the same thing. Regardless of that. The s25 ultra needs to have iPhone battery level and the reason why is because of the removal of spen Bluetooth. You remove features you have to update alot. There's no hdr10 video and side by side the hdr 10 produced a very clean image for some. Also the cameras just suck in 2025!!

Main thing is that it didnt have a lot of upgrades but we can't ignore the fact that s24u is the best phone of 2024 according to countless youtubers and theres nothing to really improve upon.
Even apple releases the same phone every year with a new chipset because they just want to stay in the market.
The bluetooth removal from the Spen was a disappointment tho
Imo flagships should be realeased every 2 years or so where we can actually improvements
The BT thing is a downgrade, no doubt about that but the upgrades are significant enough in my opinion.

Currently rocking the S24U was a preorder from my previous S21+ and instantly pre-ordered the S25U through samsung. I understand peoples frustrations in the comments above, but they will never appreciate how much simple upgrades improve quality of life. Cameras dont need to be any better they are fabulous. The battery doesn't need to be larger optimized outpreforms sizing all day.

I am more so looking at the S25+ model, since it is about the same size as my A52 (which is losing security update support in a few weeks).
I don't know who these super massive phones are for, but they ain't for my small hands and pockets, that's for certain.
As a non gamer, my Violet S24 Ultra suits me fine for the usual daily duties. Informative video as always 👌 👍 👏

It is not a secret that Samsung decided to remove some planned upgrades features to cut manufacturing costs for S25U. The cost of Qualcomm has gone up by 20% and the depreciated KRW, especially.

Battery live is so much better on s25 ultra is amazing.
Im disappointed that they did away with the blue tooth s pen on the new S25 Ultra I loved the air commands and being able to use it to take pictures with it.
Did u get good lock and increase thermals to throttle on higher temperature? It's option in there. On s23U u could change +3 or smith ⁰C to it start throttle around 47⁰C instead 44

3:14 the colour scale is different because the max temperatures are different, so the images colours presented are meaningless.
But the numbers don't lie & the colours just to visually show you how the heat is being handled.
@@WhatGear True. One temperature number is dsplayed for each phone, where the + is, so that max temperature is exactly communicated (the rest is not that immediate), and that's an important number. But since you're using a thermal camera you had the possibility to take out much more from it: you could have shown the same max&min temperature range for all the 3, so it's easier to pick the differences and temperature distribution. That's how I'd have done it, what you did is important but limited only for/to the max temperature, so all the other colours are wasted information in that way

@@WhatGear it's not just the chip, it's the overall phone. granted the chip changed, but really what type of game will utilize all of its power? we haven't had a AAA game since. and also, the cameras sensors are dated.

@WhatGear Did you follow samsung from the first years you would see this is the top 3 release where they release the same phone in a new cosmetic. Most of the tech is 5 years old. That might also be the case why Samsungs ceo has made an apology officially.
