    You have a fine rig there if the going gets hard take the 375 down off the trailer and she will pull the rig and trailer over any big hill climb tell the cops an irish man told you to take komatsu down when the going gets tough all the best and Happy Christmas

    God I’d love to put a B and B 100 ton rotator body on one. Would be best off road wrecker in the U.S……Out there with no tool or spare parts?? That’s kinda nuts.

    Do they still manufacture those particular model trucks today? If no, then when were they discontinued?

      This truck is a M 1070A0 and was new in 1996 and rebuilt at Oshkosh In 2006. The new model of HET is the m1070A1. Not sure when the stopped the production of the M1070A0. The new HET has a C18 Cat engine at 800hp and 2600 ftlb of torque...a real monster. There was a fella that left a detailed description of the the two different models in the comments. I’m just going off the top of my head with the hp numbers.

      I called axel tech and they said it could be done at a great cost. It’s been a few years since I called but what I remember they said there was something in the diff that was welded and it would be a huge chore to do all four axels and then there is the cost of the parts. Easily north of 20k. It wold be epic to have the C18 Cat and about a 55mph top speed. 45 wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t so gutless with the Detroit in it. They could have at least used a 3408 Cat. With the Detroit in it I wouldn’t regear it because it wouldn’t have enough torque to pull the big loads in steep terrain .

    The dozer is 85T and the trailer is how much? What is the average HET rated for?

      David G the trailer is rated for 85 ton and weighs around 60k lb. I believe the gvwr on the HET is around 235,000 on a15% grade which is almost a 45 degree incline. Gross weight with the 375 dozer is around 260k lb .

      15% slope is about 8.5 degrees. 45 degrees would be 100% slope.

      Dont believe that dozer is 85T. 65T is closer to reality as they scale operation weight at ~ 126600lbs.

      Brandon Caldwell www.komatsuamerica.com/equipment/dozers/mining/d375a-8. You’re right I was way off it’s only 80 ton.... if we put this machine on a 65 ton trailer it would either break it or permanently damage it. I estimated 85t because of the full U dozer blade and triple shank ripper.

    a cummins isx 15 (600hp) can be a great engine for this oskosh with manual 13-15 speeds eaton fuller, the cat c18 is too big and old

      We just put a new transmission in that I had found at an auction. The trans was new but it had sat in storage for many years so I didn’t know if it would hold together in a hard pull or not.
