Yesss thankyou! 👏🏻 I knew the little squeal before the second verse would give you pause 😂 Also love how you point out how Gerard likes to put a lil ritz on his vowels. And yes, they’re so versatile, there are so many influences as you’ve picked up on yet the sound is very unique. Thanks for doing this one, I’m glad to see you enjoyed it!
Love these reactions! MCR are so unique which why I fell in love with the band. Each song so unique and Gerard always singing with such passion. If you like his moans, you should check out Destroya. But also, I would love to see you react to How I Disappear, Bulletproof Heart, and Boy Division. I guess that is enough for now. Don’t worry, we have more to go through, just don’t want to overwhelm you with song titles. :)
AHHHHH THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS ONE! I like what you said about Gerard’s lyrics and how intelligent he seems to be. That’s why I love watching their old interviews because you can tell by his conversations that he’s a very creative, respectful, and honest person.
Anyone else listen to The Sharpest Lives, This Is How I Disappear and House of Wolves sequently because it’s fun to rock out to? Yeah, good songs all around
ahh, another great reaction! (: the sharpest lives is one of their best songs, lyrically. i can't get over how brilliant gerard's writing is. you should check out Desert Song next, to hear some more of g's raw, powerful vocals! i think you'll love it
Yes, Sharpest Lives is one of their best songs in my opinion, lyrics, rhythm, composition, is so catchy and powerful, I love it. I'm here to ask again for a reaction to Heaven Help Us! 😂 This Is How I Disappear is also a great song. Great video!! 🥰🖤
@@cudahitz I love, as you pointed, he sings the chorus different every time, that makes the song more dynamic, and he has this very unique way of vocalising. The Shakespeare's reference is exquisite, they do that a lot, they have plenty literary references, for example in To The End (from Revenge) they refer to William Faulkner's A rose for Emily short story. This particular song, as ever MCR song, has a double interpretation, on one side it keeps telling the patient's background story but it also talks about Gerard's own addiction problem. The do very interesting music, back in the day there was a lot of hate towards them, I think they were very misunderstood because of the way they looked and I feel like, yes, they were very beloved by their fan base but also very attacked and criticized by the rest of the media, and it's very comforting to see, now that the years have passed, they're getting the love and respect that they deserve from the beginning because of their music and the way they do it. It really excites me to see people reacting for the first time to their music, leaving behind all these negative preconceptions about them and that they're finally getting a place and the appreciation they always deserved as musicians. On behalf of the generation whose lives were saved by My Chemical Romance: Thank you so much for being part of this and for making this great videos about their music.
This song is absolutely brilliant and The Black Parade is just a goddamn masterpiece of an album. Another band I'd love to hear some of your reactions to is "Foo Fighters", a phenomenal band with a discography chock-full of modern classics, if I had to pick one song to single out as a starting point it would have to be "The Pretender". Ps. Just discovered, binged and subbed.
They’re such an amazing group of artists. They’re all so intelligent, intentional, and very good at what they do as individuals and when they come together it just makes the most epic band ever! They’re so versatile because they have such a wide range of musical influence, Frank’s father and grandfather were blues band drummers, but he also listened to rock and punk and all that, and Gerard listened to everything from metal to Brit pop, glam rock and punk, etc. and it makes for such an interesting combination
Gerard Way is a master story teller , Uber creative , & a true national treasure . Way not only wrote 3 fantastic concept albums with the amazing Ray Torro but also created Umbrella Academy,Doom Patrol, Penny from Spiderman: Inside the Spider verse, & has written many, many comic's . You just can't say enough about Gerard Way's talent . Frank Iero has some really good solo music imo
Btw I believe the noise at 2:01 is Juliet stabbing herself, based on the lyric that comes shortly after with the dagger dropping and the blood lathering
If you want to try out another band you should listen to “Mr Doctor Man” by the band Palaye Royale. The lead singer has a raspy and unique voice that I like. They’re MCR fans and have listed MCR as one of their influences.
This is where the fandom is divided, some people think The sharpest lives is better and others that think that This is how I disappear (you need to react to that too) is better😂
I've just binged all your MCR videos!! I love your reactions! I totally recommend "Vampires Will Never Hurt You" "Our Lady of Sorrows" and "Never Told You What I Do For A Living" as well.
Lots of homages in this song Vampires referencing Vampires Will Never Hurt You from Bullets The Shakespeare line Rays guitar 3:32 seems to pay tribute to Jimi Hendrix who did a similar sound on "Machine Gun" The 'oh's' backing vocals backing the solo at 3:54 seems to be an homage to a similar sound from the outro of 'Diary of a Madman' off Ozzy's solo career 1982 album of the same name. Interesting to note that Hendrix and Randy Rhoads were huge influences for Ray.
Great video! i love this song :D i love mcr so much! If u like vocals and lyrics id recommend their first album (bullets) because the lyrics are so emotional and beautiful but then one if my favourite songs by them is I Never Told You What I Do For A Living, and the world is ugly :-)
Just subscribed after binging all your MCR reactions! Love the content man, keep it up! Seeing that you're a metalhead you should definitely try Thank You For The Venom by MCR, the guitar work is phenomenal!🤘🏻🔥
I have a feeling you’ll like the song Dead! Gerard actually switches up his roles in the song a bit, one singing as the patient who is the main character of the Black Parade album and then later immitating a doctor and then just turn into what I’d personally call the sound of insanity. It is best to listen to it right after the song, The End though, these two are the first songs on the Black Parade album, The End started with the sound of heartbeats slowing down in the monitor and the song Dead! began with the sound of the heart stopping in the monitor, it is really cool. I also think you’ll like You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison and The Kids from Yesterday, this song has not been recommended enough, it’s a song that doesn’t surprise you with the different styles and techniques but the vocals are amazing as this song was written as a reflection piece. The music video also shows footages of their live shows and I think it is awesome.
MCR is my favorite! Would love to see your reaction to Falling in Reverse, the drug in me is you, and then the lasted version, drug in me is you reimagined. It literally blew my mind
please please pleaase listen to "sleep" by mcr. such an underrated song, such a brilliant and emotional song, such a... okay, gonna be honest, it's one of my total favourites from TBP.
When you leave bunch of metal dudes in the basement and they get so bored they play punk and experimented it into something. That's My Chemical Romance right there 😂
at 2:14 when you say "what is this?" thats Bert Mccracken from The Used...thats his signature sound....not sure why he's on this song....but Gerard and Bert were friends i think for a little while....thats 100 percent Bert Mccracken doing this weird voice thing. listen to a bunch of The Used and you'll see eventually
Please 🙏🏻 listen to Gerard's cover of Common People, I love listening to mcr through headphones and catching all the little whispered parts, I have just found you ❤️ my favourite reactions to my favourite band ❤️
This song is about the positives and negatives of being a rock star. My CHEMICAL romance is named after the fact that the band members liked doing drugs and it hurt the mental health of many members from Gerard Way to his brother Mikey Way.
fun fact: the shakespeare reference is incorrect- he says "drop the dagger and lather the blood on your hands, romeo" but romeo actually poisoned himself, and juliet was the one to stab herself.
"You know what they do to guys like us in prison" is another great MCR song from their Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge album
Both are on my list!:)
Yea he should listen to the whole three cheers album
2:00 you have to know something... Gerard moans. Gerard moans a lot.
A whole fucking lot . And I'm not mas about.

Eyeoftherainbow yep , and it's one of the best songs I've ever heard, not only because of the moaning but because of the lyrics and sound of it .
Please do "Thank you for the venom" next!
And yes! The sharpest lives is from the welcome to the black parade album.
I'll put it on my list for more MCR to come!
@@cudahitz YES THANK YOU FOR THE VENOM IS AMAZING
I adore that Shakespeare reference. This song is right up there with House of Wolves.
Both were amazing songs!
yes they are! 🤘🔥🍻
“I never told you what I did for a living” is an amazing song with amazing tragic lyrics and I think it kinda references Macbeth
I'll check it out!!:)
"what was THAT?" LMAOO
You can clearly tell the guy's intelligent
He honestly speaks very well
afaik the moaning noise isn't the lead singer, it's bert mccracken from the used. he makes a few appearances like that in this album.
2:05 that moan was nothing, you should listen destroya
...oh my😂

it was bert from the used

The Shakespeare line

you should react to “This Is How I Disappear”, my personal favorite off of The Black Parade!
You should do the song Helena but the vocals only version of Gerard and Ray. It's beautiful even without instruments.
