It’s a pretty loose concept in my opinion, and a lot of their songs have multiple meanings. There are people who have gone through the songs and found small pieces in each one that tell the story, but I think “I never told you what I do for a Living” is the song that tells most of it and has the most to do with that concept. I’ve always thought the songs from Three Cheers were more personal and about Gerard’s beliefs and experiences than just telling a story. For example, I think The Jetset Life is about that period when Gerard got into the alcohol, drugs, and depression, Helena of course, is about his and Mikey’s grandmother, I think Cemetery Drive is about someone you love committing suicide, etc. I honestly see very few of the songs from Three Cheers as a part of the demolition lovers story, but I guess if you tried hard enough you can make them fit. Like I said, this is just my opinion. Doesn’t mean it’s correct 🤷🏻♀️ Sorry for the essay, I just love talking about music (and MCR) 🙈

The woman goes to hell. In Three Cheers, the man makes a deal with the devil- if he can bring the devil the souls of a thousand evil men within a certain time frame (I think a year), the man can be with his lover again. The man goes on a killing spree. (The woman's ghost helps him occasionally) He kills 999 men, but he's just about out of time. He then realizes that he has become so corrupt that he is in fact the last evil man he needs to kill. So he kills himself and he goes to hell. The devil didn't lie. The demolition lovers are finally reunited in death.
I quite enjoy their rawness in this song but it’s also so clean! The layers are nicely done so it’s not just a bunch of random ass noise but helps drive the emotion meant to be felt...if that makes sense. Nice reaction dude
