This repeat was shown on 28th May 1986 when rain stopped play in a B&H Quarter final match between Essex and Notts. I was sat at Chelmsford at that game hoping for the rain to subside and Essex to win having put Notts into trouble at 39-3 chasing 196. Neither happened and the next day I wasn't there to see Notts win by 3 wickets. Good that you have managed to get these highlights for us to enjoy, thank you.
Hugh Wilson was the great fast bowling hope of English cricket once upon a time. England selectors took Dilley to Australia, when Richie Benaud said why not take them both.
Great batting from Gooch, though to my eyes it looks strange seeing him in a blue helmet and playing with a Fearnley bat, as opposed to a white helmet and a Surridge Turbo.

I saw this a few months ago and didn't know of Hugh Wilson but was impressed. He looked quick. His career just petered out having looked it up.

I was there....sitting at the nursery end behind the bowlers arm...great day for Essex.
I am old enough to remember when Hugh Wilson was England's next great fast bowling hope. This wasn't a moment that lasted very long.
Great players on both sides
The old Lord's Grandstand looks massive.
I was there. Very good game.
A fine channel, great memories- do you have any footage at all of Leics' Brian Davison batting btw?
A very good question. I was at Lord’s one year when he hit the ball out of the ground (over long on).
That cough at the start is choice. Peter West himself?
🤣
I read that as Peter wet himself😂😂😂
Can you post Frank hayes's century for england
21:30: OK own up? Who brought their cat to the cricket match? 🐱
Boycott in the com box and he was still playing in those days.
100 off 25 is a "run riot" back in 1979😂😂😂😂
Surrey missed Sylvester Clarke big time
Pocock bowled utter shite that day
