Hey James! Great video as always. I was just made aware of this, but maybe you know...have you tried the functions F15-F19 on this train? They are Star Trek sounds and the theme to "The Greatest American Hero" TV show. I just thought that was pretty funny of the company to put those sounds in there. Keep up the modeling OCD!!
The short line railroad the runs through where I live the P&N railroad they have 2 F40PHs. SLRG 456 and SLRG 457 457 has been converted into a slug unit.
most early F40s have a Digital Data Tag on the side in 1990 this was replaced by AEI and RFID tags which are magnetic and can tell a trains data faster then the old system.

Looks like the latest Bachmann f40ph tooling that they recently discontinued that was not around by them very long but they did them well for Bachmann. think late 90's only a short time .. They had see through grills ,fans separate details added ect..

I remember the first time I got a loco in "the block of ice". It was about 15 years ago. Never seen it before. Couldn't get the darned thing out. I had to cut the loco out with a knife in my efforts to not damage the loco. I feel so stupid now. (It was an Australian National 930 class by TrainOrama.)

the first F40s called Pooches had the fuel tank under cab this was dangerous and was the cause of the Chase Wreck where an F40 plowed into a commuter train and derailed setting both engines on fire.

5dmc1 Amtrak no longer us F40s only Metra, Metrolink and also Nashville star are the only ones with F40s still

Phase 3 is way better looking, but I like phase 2 as well. Phase 4 is good too, 5 and 1 would look ugly.

Lights over the trucks are called "ground lights". Just about all diesels had them. Also electric locomotives had them too.
