"It moves right along in speed step 1". I'll say! That's mighty quick for speed step 1. I (we all) want a loco that CREEPS along the rails in speed step 1. Coupler height is a bit disappointing, too. For the price paid it should be able to couple up to anything conforming to NMRA specs right out of the box. Thank you for this candid review.
I have two of these and the only problem I had was a piece of grating on the side came off which was fixed with some CA glue. Other than that, these are two of the best locos I've ever purchased.
Just receive my Baltimore and Ohio unit, what a great model. This is my second rapido unit and have a few rapido passenger cars. Feel they my be best in the game, followed by broadway limited.

Hey James, I had a thought regarding your turn table. If you glued on a section of Kato Unitrack, or Bachmann Ez-track to the top, I think it would make your presentation of the model really nice. Paint / weather the track and ties a bit, glue some ballast along the edge. Could put some dirt and green turf around the rest of the turn table, do a little Luke Towan on that baby.
I hope that one day, I could model trains myself, and I would definitely like some Alco FA & FB units.

Yep, they pronounce it on their own videos as Ra-pee-doh.
