Thank you for your help, I cleared a couple of drains then put a hospital grade disinfectant down them as well to give a nicer smell. Will clean them out once a week from now on.

We have an awful odor in our home . Not sure if its sewer gas or a dead animal. It usually comes out during windy days. We get the odor from our sinks, radiator floor where pipe breaks through the cement, and in the basement and garage.
Why is it that the sewer smell is very pungent early mornings around sunrise for a couple of hours but then dissipates and is then ok for the most part of the day?? Seems to build up overnight!
Using a shower for a urinal, I think makes the urine get caught in the trap and the bacteria grows and the smell is disgusting and it’s not back up sewage smell
I have two unused bathrooms and I am tired of adding water the pee traps before they dry out, How can I seal the drains? I've been keeping the sinks filled with water but it corrodes the sink hardware.

I take it America has some old ass houses and things are rotting away if not a newer house since its affecting alot of us. we just bought a used house that was remodeled and after 5 months the bathroom is starting to stink. The tub drain was draining very slowly but I fixed it with some liquid plumber I think they poured paint and other things down the drain when they remodeled because there are paint spills all over the tub that I had to clean off with a 5 and 1. I have covered up the drain holes in the sink holes I have ran water obviously from using the sync in the tub to clean myself but there are still sewer gas coming up could it be from the toilet ring
Well I just built my home 1.5 years ago and I am smelling sewage from my shower drain. Go freakin figure...brand new. Such bulshit! I just poured baking soda and vinegar..fingers crossed!

It could be those vents on top of the roof that catches all sorts of bad air

Some fabric softner mixed with some water poured down a shower drain might help.
This happens quite a bit at my house...in fact it's happening now and I had to tell my mom that the shower was making demon noises again...

I just notice my shower does not have a ptrap. And odors come every once in awhile.
How do you clean a bathroom drain. I think it comes from hubby's shaving cream. As my side of the sink doesnt smell.

I've heard you can pour some vegetable oil down the drain, just enough to fill the P trap. Don't quote me on it though.
Youre right, that's what I found out too. Mineral oil is best.

@@missbunni6604 that's very sad to hear, dame goes for natural gas, the pipes here are 50-60 years old and we have had 3 gas leaks inside already
