Hi House. I want to say thankyou to this video. This brush is a game changer. I didn't use the one you recomended because I'm in Taiwan. I had to order something local. I tried just baking soda and vinger, like other youtubers recommended. It kind of worked, but still had a little bit of sewage smell. As soon as I scrubbed the tube with a brush, the smell has gone. Sometimes baking soda and vinger just isn't enough. I don't think bleach would work either. You had to scrub it. The only issue with my one is, it's a little bit short lol
Hey fearless, Taiwan-Awesome ! Hello from the other side of the world- indiana USA. You are 100% right - scrubbing makes all the difference. Thx for taking the time to comment and for watching!
As someone who cleans drains regularly - good Lord man wear gloves. Drains are the nastiest, most bacteria-ridden places in a home. That smell you dislike? Its bacteria. You might live to regret that drain debris splattering up all over you that just so happens to land on a shaving wound on your face or a paper cut on your hand. If you are concerned with cleaning the drain in an environmentally-friendly manner, use Simple Green. That's my usual go-to for shower drains or floor drains. Pour it in, let it sit in the trap for 10 minutes, then scrub the drain, repeat as required, and flush with scalding hot water. Problem solved.
Thanks for doing this video! My husband and I were trying to figure out how to best clean out the shower drain without using chemicals and I luckily happened upon your video. You made this task very doable for someone with little to zero experience with tools. Thanks

Vinegar is acid; baking soda is basic; when you mix them, they neutralize each other so what you end up with isn't as good as using either baking soda or vinegar alone, though since it's mostly water it'll still work to clean most things just like water will.
Thank you for the video! My question is that I need to remove the drain cover, however there are no screws to remove it. I'm afraid if I pull it off, it won't go back down. Should I put the baking soda and vinegar down anyway? Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
We have the same kind. It just snaps on and off (sometimes takes some effort). You won't be able to run a brush down there without taking it off, so you're relying too much on the vinegar/baking soda to do the heavy lifting. All drain covers should come off.
