To say theyre a monopoly under Anti-trust laws would mean they have a legal and physical (geographic) environment and high barriers to entry. Seeing the success of GOG and how Blizzard and EU's platforms service their most important titles, I dont think thats the case. Valve just got to the cake first and offers consistent service to developers.

HLX leaks don't indicate that it's a VR game. Some features alone would make people sick, and Valve designed Half-Life Alyx explicitly to avoid this. A simple reality is that HLA isn't a regular HL formula translated 1:1. If you play HL2 with VR mode, then something might be overwhelming or sickening. On the other HLA when played with non-VR mode makes you realise how simple this game truly is. If anything, you'll have Gordon and Alyx games running in paralel, one series for flatscreen and the other for VR
OR it ends up being the Biggest flop and Valves reputation is tarnished forever, and half-lifes' legacy is destroyed because of the expectations and hype.......no pressure.

Lol, then why hire people from all over the entire spectrum of other gaming studios? They have enough people, money, time, and energy. They have determined that the technology is now up to the task currently to create the game that they intended to all along

I hate that when all these leaks are going on valve has to also deal with a class action lawsuit from game devs for a dispute that a 30% cut from valve is unfair 😢 they’re trying to get them declared as a monopoly I guess🤷♂️
They do have a monopoly, because they offer the best service out of all the platforms available.
True, I just wish that other competitors wouldn’t suck so that this wouldn’t be an issue.
To say theyre a monopoly under Anti-trust laws would mean they have a legal and physical (geographic) environment and high barriers to entry. Seeing the success of GOG and how Blizzard and EU's platforms service their most important titles, I dont think thats the case. Valve just got to the cake first and offers consistent service to developers.
i'll say its the most anticipated game of all time , not only valve
It's time to bring Adrian Shephard off the bench
We can only hope
So where are links to the aniversary pages? Attention to detail and competency is key to your success sir.
Must have forgotten. Apologies, I've added into the description
What if they don’t even release a trailer and just realize the game one day
any reel's date yet i am waiting for this dumb thing for over 20 years.
i finish college for over 6 years back in 2017.
valve is talking about the dumb thing sense 2012 or so
Metro but i think that was 2019
Half Life 3 will only happen if and when Gaben learns how to count to 3.
I just hope that, after hl3 valve commits to left 4 dead 3. l4d2 is still something I play to this day but we can’t deny the game being slightly aged poorly. Or at least it gets boring cause its the same game, same maps, yes i know there’s the workshop but it’s not the same feeling.
I’ve played l4d 1 and 2 when they were new. The vibe it had was out of this world
HLX leaks don't indicate that it's a VR game.
Actual Half Life fans would be happy with a game of the same fidelity as Episode 2, and we are practically guaranteed that
All games has their flaws half-life and half-life 2 are no exception but at the end of the day it’s depends on if the game is fun or not
I hope they make it an mmo with VR/AR/AI
never going to happen unless they replace gelb first and find a new CEO on this Disney company
"within this decade alone the best we have is the doom games, im sure im blanking out a ton of amazing single player fps games"
boomer shooters that has been made in the indie scene since 2016: "am I a joke to you?"
i feel like the topic of "our game is leaked and hacked" is intentionally being targetted towards a certain person that keeps datamining and leak them.
We really got Half-life 3 before GTA 6. (hoping this comes true)
what do you mean before GTA6
the dumb game its in title mode for over 20 years.
2 bucks says the devs get cold feet because the hype for hl3 has grown beyond reason and there nothing they would put out that would justify the wait.
Alyx faced all that already
I just hope it’s not vr only
I don’t think they ever promised half life 3 ever, not sure where you are getting that from… I do think Valve is working on something half life related now but no way to know if it’s 3 or not.
forgot stalker 2
I did list it as a game in the video but I've heard it's rather rough right now but that it has great potential. Given the situation with it's developers, it's a miracle we got the game in the first place
It'll come out and I will no longer be able to make "Star Citizen will release right after HL3 releases!" jokes...
because star citizen will never release
Everyone who was any good and involved in the first two is long gone so who cares.
It’s like if Obsidian made another Fallout game, it would be the worst.
Just had to jinx the lawsuit lol
Half life 3 isn’t any more inevitable now than it was in 2007
The cope is strong with this one
The HL fandom runs on cope. It's their national drink of choice
I'm not ready for half life 3, until I build my epic expensive pc with rtx 5090 and many expensive stuff. I'm serious to get it.
I will estimate 2 or 3 months of savings ;w;
If nothing else. The source engine is very well optimized. I've seen very underpowered rigs running HLA at an acceptable performance. So HL3 might not be too bad
It is not. You're so wrong. Valve is busy with Deadlock, Counter Strike 2 and their other games. They do not have enough people.
Negative nancy
What other games
Lol, then why hire people from all over the entire spectrum of other gaming studios? They have enough people, money, time, and energy. They have determined that the technology is now up to the task currently to create the game that they intended to all along
i am not a fan of valve there becoming the biggest monopoly and the new Disney mark my words
the ADL targets steam for a reason because the one who runs the market runs the world.
For the crime of comparing valve and disney in a negative connotation you will never eat lunch in this town again
@@dogvtf was this even in English
valve / steam it's the Disney of the gaming market .
sorry Disney / apple
Valve has no market share in consoles kinda hard to be a monopoly when you don't control the most popular method of gaming.
@@alexstam2433 how is forcing gamers and game devs + big and small companies = not a monopoly.
omfg do you guys know what a monopoly is .
+ valve have there steam deck + VR .
and consoles are dying now a days.
It's a defacto monopoly rather than a enforced one. That's something EGS and Tim Sweeney are trying everything in their power to achieve. Despite Epic being a much more greedy company than Valve
To the point that they're actively annoying people by making games from third-party studios Exclusive
So while it's unfortunate that Steam has reached a point of being considered a monopolistic storefront. Most people are find with it due to Steam justifying itself as the best storefront
This is a slop video. You just repeated the half life documentary.
Me when I lie
I mean this is all new information and he condensed it from hours to a 40 min video
Thanks!
No one cares or wants Vr even if it becomes affordable, it’s a gimmick like the Wii that is dying out.
get a real job.
I have one...pays decently well but damn does it suck
. That's why I'm trying to make this YT thing work out
If it is real, I will buy it at full price to show my support, even if it means eating less launch to save up the money
Same
Between the DOOM 2016 reboot (plus all the subsequent DOOM content) and the "boomer shooter" revival we've witnessed. I think it is the best time to put out a new proper HL game. C'mon Valve, make it happen. The stars are aligning for you.
