I wanted to hate it, but like you said, it really feels made with love. I'm that angry TF2 player too, but the gameplay is just too fun. The MOBA elements give off a Dota vibe, which I really like, and the matches feel super competitive.

Icefrog braindeaded trad. The design of Deadlock complete mess and that's why 1. There is no real counterplay for CC characters against mid or long-ranged characters. 2. "Assasins" have no real mobility. 3. Overall gameplay is weak, ability items are ultra boring and aimed only at "pro-gaming" 4. Character design - no real character design visual or gameplay is presented. 5. Ability design - same as character. Let's be honest all of u make a noise about this garbage only because this garbage is made by Valve one of the greediest company ever existed. If you think Ice Frog is a genius and knows what he's doing, just install Dota 2 and try this world-worst MOBA. Cockblock is just a mess without art direction and a gamedesigner behind it.

excited for a generic game made with a generic art style and a 10years old engine? nah, valve lost his touch years ago

I hope this game succeeds! Especially if it sort of replaces TF2 as their competitive hero shooter. Reason being that TF2's weapon balance tries to fit competitive while being primarily a casual game (why doesn't it have the Casual tag on Steam???), which as many know has made some weapons just unusable. Oh and MeetYourMatch. So we could leverage this to ask Valve to reconsider TF2's balance!

I was an early playtester when there were around 500 people who had access. Something that really sucked when Deadlock was first leaked, was the fact people were really pissed off. Some people made videos about how this game looked like shit and how the gameplay looked horrible. I never understood those opinions. For 1, they never had access. Secondly, its very early. But I am really happy people are starting to realize that this game actually has love and support from the developers. Even patched TF2 because they know a small minority were saying "Why are they making a new hero shooter when TF2 has a bot problem". I hope this game gets as much love as Valves other games because this game has huge potential. PS, the fact that me, a non moba player, could get into this game because it was infinitely easier to get into than other MOBAS like dota or lol.

I've been looking for another TPS MOBA since overprime shut down. Cool to see that Valve is behind this one as well; I'll definitely have to get an invite for this.

The sound design reminds me especially of Half Life Alyx, even tho they're not related, the quality is on par

I really like the gameplay ! The thing that I have a hard time with is the UI The map is unreadable. And of course visual of the map but I think it will change later

I've been in the playtest for a few weeks now, I think it's fun, not really something I could play all day every day, but I can see myself booting it up every once in a while

They do know that tf2 fans can be the most wholesome and also the most toxic people right? They make a new game instead of fixing an already beloved one? One that they make alot of money from? Classic Valve move.
