First of all I'm sorry for the bad english, I'm brazilian, but I'm a fan of your channel and your work, and you're one of my inspirations to make my videos review in portuguese. Now I will tell you about an experience I had with a Japanese figure I bought 2 years ago. Earlier this year I decided to open a Leonidas (300) action figure from Figma, which I kept for 2 years in the original box, never opened. As soon as I articulated the legs, they both fell and didn't stop in place. At the time I was extremely frustrated because the figure was great and I really like the character. That was a huge QC issue. I had bought it from a big Brazilian website, specialized in imported action figures, but it was 2 years ago and I couldn't complain to them . I then decided to email the manufacturer, Good Smile Company, and after submitting photos, explaining the problem and presenting the purchase coupon, they volunteered to send replacement parts. And I didn't have to pay for it, it was sent on their behalf. They apologized and sent the parts. After a few months of waiting the two thighs came and I shifted in the figure, solving the issue. The Japanese are very serious people and respect the consumer. Sorry for the long speech, and any grammatical errors. I hope you understand me. Good luck and congratulations on your work!
And this is why I watch reviews on things like this. While I never had a need or a want to pick this up, at least now I know what to expect. Anyways another wonderful review, been loving your content since I subscribed a while back.
I love your reviews so much because you're thorough, honest, positive and still manage to be hella funny in a natural way (not over the top)! I appreciate you including so much posing and fiddling, and explaining/showing the fixes you attempt; makes me feel like I'm opening the figure along with you. If this figure was cheaper and easier to get I'd be all over it...
I have a solution, I had the exact same shoulder problem. Use hot water to heat up the arm like you did and use plyers to squish the hollowed out part of the arm that cups the ball joint and wait for it to cool. Then it's going to take some hassle to get the arm on but it will stay.
Loved the intro! I always loved the intros and jokes you make. Such a shame that the figure is not really that good. Gotta admit thou, the chair is definitely a nice addition, but man! Does it suck when you get those kinds of QC issues.
I've been anticipating this review for a while kinda sucks that you got a seriously flawed fig, takes a lot to just not loss it after that, so glad you were able to find an upside, & yeah I think for the size & accessories it should at most be in the $59.99 range, anyway loved the review man can't wait to see what's next oh are we getting a weekly this friday.
Hi Robo, I love watching your reviews! I have a question/favor to ask you. I really want an S.H. Figuarts Yoda for myself, but as it is a web exclusive and fairly old by now, I can’t find any through my usual channels. The only places I can find them are nippon-yasan and eBay. I am hesitant to purchase from these places because I’ve heard extremely mixed reviews about nippon-yasan, and then eBay is a monster of its own as we all know. I was wondering if you could track on down for me so I can find out a trustworthy place to buy from as well as who that specific seller might be. I don’t know if you read comments from old videos, and I completely understand if this isn’t something that you do. But thank you for listening and of course keep up the good work :)
Good god, the whole chair and sitting engineering thing is brilliant! Yes, that's the word I used to describe that, then you said it. Pretty damn impressed with Figuarts.
Sorry yours has QC, mine has been fine, I even managed to pop that shoulder when changing the robe, but it goes back in - weird, but am not complaining! Thanks for the review. I've had nine for 10days, but due the hassle of changing robes I've not played with the chair, so didn't even realise that it was a commode too 😂 Also, didn't spot the dumbell on the ankles 🤦♂️ That said, I love it. Thought Dooku, Ant-Man (infinity war) and Wasp were all swings and misses, so getting this, for me, feels like a major hit again. Only major criticism is the head not looking up.
$100? Man, shipped with FFH Spidey from MyKombini they came to under $70 shipped each. Mine has no QC and IMO is one of the best SHF Star Wars there is, but yeah, that QC on yours bad. Appreciate the good and honest review!
I have this figure and I really do understand the frustrations. You just have to work with the joint covers on the hips. I mean you could always take them off if they're that annoying, but it's just something you have to deal with. Also, I would advise not to head up that socket. Just push it as firmly as you can and then leave it, then try again after a bit. It happened to me and it worked. I'm still learning to get Yoda i to 2 handed lightsaber holding poses without overextending the butterfly joints. I don't think there's enough wiggle room for the butterfly joints to move in the cloaks to begin with because of them trying to go for a seamless look. Unless I'm doing something wrong.
Can you use a flat head or file or something to push the ball inside him up toward the middle so it’s not resting against his chest wall? That should allow you enough clearance all around it to pop the joint back onto it...
Love the review, and at least understand what to expect with the QC issues. I found a collector willing to part with his for $110.00 shipped and he's in the states. I can't justify buying it, but, believe it or not, after your great review, I wanted it more, gotta love the chair lol. I'm getting the Luke and Yoda deluxe set next week from BBTS and I'm hoping the Figuarts head will fit on the Black series also? Its my favorite Yoda of the clone wars. Wish me luck, and thanks again for the review. :)
Gotta love when your expensive import figure requires a bunch of work just to try and get the thing to be functional. Figuarts look (for the most part) really pretty, but I've had plenty of them need work right out of the package, and you have to, or you're basically destined to break them. Figuarts (or D-Arts if you wanna get technical) Megaman X broke the moment I tried to turn the bicep, arm snapped right off. I was able to get a replacement, and use a hot water treatment to make him work as intended, but that sure as hell isn't listed as something to be aware of on the box. If I'm paying this much for a "high quality figure" I expect to be able to use the available articulation, and not have to fear breaking them because of a design flaw that I couldn't possibly have known about. In my experience, I've had these kind of problems for almost all of the Mega Man line, the short lived Digimon line, the Sentai/Power Rangers line, and plenty from the Dragon Ball line. Much as I hate it though, I always end up coming back because they just look so good, and when they work they're excellent. It's just so frustrating to lay down the cash for something, expecting a working product, only to immediately question how they can charge so much when it doesn't even do what it's supposed to.
I have this figure on the way but I don't think anything will ever sway me from thinking the koto is the best Yoda out there in terms of sculpt, paint, and scale. Gus's pickle joke made me laugh out loud, so thanks for that, haha!
Would adding some material over the inner ball joint help? Like, when a head fits loose on a Marvel Legends figure for me, I try to glue a bit of vinyl from a 3-ring binder over the surface of the ball, and trim excess off so it's still a ball, but with just a bit more body to it, makes for a tighter fit. Dunno if that'd work for an arm joint on a SHFiguarts figure though.
See this is why I prefer Black Series and Marvel Legends over fancy imports. I find the fiddly design and fragility of imports usually not worth the price difference over domestic offerings. Hasbro stuff is a better value due to much lower price, having the durability of a toy yet offering enough detail and articulation to be considered an adult collectible.
Mine arrived today and has the same issue with the left arm. Also I can’t find a way to get the hands together for. two handed lightsaber grip or two hands on his stick. It is still a great figure.
Thanks for the saved $ Robo!....I hope on eBay someone just makes a statue of sitting in the council chair, For $10 you can buy him with the action pose swinging saber look lol....you can’t pose it but it looks the same as him in action from the promo shot 😂
Having that same issue with the shoulder this fig is still a lot of fun to handle. The butt flaps are definitely annoying though. Had mine not came with that QC issue it’d be my figure of the year.
You got a messed up one. I saw another review already with a better copy, his arms both popped on securely. Not okay though like you said. Great review !!
Oh you got yours at Nippon Yasan? Yeah... that's a lost cause. They have awful customer service, terrible exchange policy, and no refund option. I hit a wall each time I have a problem ordering with them. Total of 4 incidences out of 28 orders. We basically take our chances because they offer Bandai Exclusive items. My Voltron GX-71 has some minor QC issue as well. Not sure why Bandai is rushing production? Quality Assurance should be their number one priority! Let's vote for Quality Assurance if they ever put out a feedback card for consumer one day.
Really odd choice that they went with this Yoda first and not standard Yoda. With being so tiny, they should've given us a classic body as well, and a matching head. Soooo, yeeeeah..basically that'd be two complete Yoda's. Realizing that doesn't make much sense on a business standpoint..as I'm typing my thoughts out.
They sure are taking their time with that Jabba and Wicket. I particularly want that 59 points of articulation tailed Jabba. Sure, it doesn't look the best like that, but it's by far better than Hasbro. *We need a super articulated Salacious Crumb too. Most ppl can't afford the Hasbro one; plus it'd be nice to have one figure of them that can be posed however you want.
My Rey had the same issue on the same arm upon turning it one time. Spent about an hour trying to jam it back in there to no avail. Had a bit of fun with it (lost limbs!), took a couple pics, and then put her in a nice pose and haven't touched her since.
Great review Robo. But for the price point I think I’ll stick to the Black Series. The chair is nice and very creative. But other than that I’m really not impressed.
Nippon-Yasan doesn't accept returns if you have a faulty figure. I bought a Metal Build Gundam and it was missing a piece. They would not accept a return or an exchange. I ended up having to go through Paypal to get any refund and Nippon-Yasan deleted my account with them. Even if you wanted to return it, you would be SOL.
I had the same shoulder problem with the sh figuarts Spiderman homemade suit, I thought it was because I bought the bluefin version with the wall and all, maybe the quality was a bit worse but I see that’s not the case The moment I pulled it out of the package, the butterfly joint just fell off, it sticks right on but as soon I move it, it falls off again I paid quite a bit to get it and I got super bummed about it but I got used to it
I think the qc issue with your figure's shoulder has to do with the articulation cover piece (I'm thinking it came out molded wrong so it won't allow for the actual peg to fit right into the arm peg hole) from other reviews I've seen the arm is made to be able to come off easily to change the robes so yours not fitting right might be in the actual rubbery cover that just won't let the arm fit right (from the video it seems like there is evidence there an excess of plastic in the area where the peg goes through it or it's just a faulty mold) you should try and get it replaced because it shouldn't be that way, check out daredevil 19's review and in it he can remove and reattach the arms way easier. Good luck robo!
This is just a realistic review. "I bought this thing that's pretty nice but has flaws, and I'm going to enjoy what I can get from it" It's how a lot of purchases go, not just with toys
I hope there would be standard release SOME day with just the Yoda figure and no seat and such. I love Yoda but spending $100 for a less than 3 3/4 figure?....ehhhhh...... Orrr just gonna have to wait for the inevitable Black Series Prequal Yoda....SOME day....
@@TheFwoosh Got mine today and I been playing with it for hours. Arms are fine after numerous time taken off to change robes. I also stretched the arms a lot getting the butterfly joints moving. Sometimes the hands can easily fall out. The couch area is a kind of a pain since they move too easily. Tommorow I will continue to play with it and keep you informed of any issues.
ME: (Watching the review) Those are some hard QC problems. I guess I'll just get a Black Series Yoda. (Sees the two Black Series Yodas in the comparison) Nevermind...
Yeah agree it's a bit overpriced (picked up for $90 shipped) when compared to the SHF Rocket Raccoon (comparable size) exclusive (picked up for $65 shipped) but Rocket did not have an accessory comparable to the council chair & you get 3 robes for different looks. I'd say those are prolly worth maybe another $15, so that makes him $10 over the Rocket price taking into a/c the add'l accessories carve-out with Yoda, so difference isn't that material IMO. This is really a fantastic looking & articulated Yoda IMO & no regrets whatsoever in getting it. Sorry you rec'd the bum left arm as appears to be an OEM defect that should've nixed this one from being made avail. for sale. I'm sure with your connections with Bluefin you could somehow arrange for them to provide a replacement for you w/o any add'l cost to you (to avoid the likely hassle of returning to N-Y). Always takes away enthusiasm for a new fig. when you get a defect like that so completely align with your frustration. Thanks for another great review.
Good review but ah man sucks about the arm but given his size i cant really say im too surprised since all of his joints are so damn small as well. It does suck that you paid almost 100 dollars but well the honest to god truth we all just need to accept: There isn't a price point where QC issues stop happening, what you pay at check out isn't going to change that, sadly. We all run the risk of getting "the bad one" and chances are it's happened to all of us at least once. i would recommend emailing where you got it from, but if you got it from Nippon-Yasan then it's basically the same as doing nothing because sadly their customer service is ASS.
Ah man that sucks that you got a bad one. I was lucky mine is fine and it’s a great figure but yeah, overpriced. Gotta have the little fella though. If I were you I’d definitely be getting a replacement though. I’ve been through the process with Nippon Yasan before and they were good.
Still waiting for mine, nippon yasan took ages to ship. Excited, but now cautiously optimistic about qc. ha Also wish it had been original trilogy Yoda but that would have been a more "boring" action figure, so understandable I guess.
Yoda is 2ft 2in, so at 1/12 scale he should be (inch for a foot) 2 inches plus (12 divided by 8 equals 1.5... so 1.5 8ths per inch x 2 equals 3/8ths) so 1/12 scale yoda should be 2 and 3/8ths inches.
$95 from Toy Ninja. Should arrive in a couple days. We shall see if it was worth it That 3rd head (closed eyes) is his passing gas face. Yoda is an non articulation, articulation figure. And no snake...darn! Great review as always

Reminds me of a Darth Vader figure I have. The head falls off if you move it but once you get it into the pose it’s fine.
This is just a realistic review. "I bought this thing that's pretty nice but has flaws, and I'm going to enjoy what I can get from it"
It's how a lot of purchases go, not just with toys
Is the green to bright or is it because it’s on camera?
Sorry you have that QC issue. I have a similar problem with TLJ Luke's left leg.
'Are you a pickle?' made the review.
So far no issue with mine, the hips however will always be a pain due to the design, but i can live with it considering the size
Mine didn't have the arm issue or any QC issue at all and I got it from $72 plus shipping from japan

Do you have your own podcast?
"Are you a pickle?"
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
and I love the intro!
I have the exact same issue. Extremely frustrating considering its cost. A pretty good figure destroyed by one terrible joint.
Still waiting for mine. will let you know about qc issues.
Yeah, I'd like to hear if you do have a problem.
@@TheFwoosh I will. 👍
Saw all the "Are you a Pickle" comments. Then when I got to that oart of the video i lost it.
COOL SHIRT Robo
I heard/read somewhere that the reason why the arm easily detaches, is so that you can easily remove the robe as well. 😂
ME: (Watching the review) Those are some hard QC problems. I guess I'll just get a Black Series Yoda.
(Sees the two Black Series Yodas in the comparison)
Nevermind...
Watching this, i kinda prefer the BS one. I'd rather have less articulation than the articulation popping out lol.
@@captain104th oh my issue was the way the BS Yoda looked. He looked like molten plastic tbh.
9:22 Yoda having ptsd about Vietnam War and the death of Mario
It sucks you got a dud... I've been having fun with mine. The butterfly joints did scare me at first but they losened up the next day.
Love the reviews!
Awesome figure. Best Figuarts release in awhile.
Is the hot toys one better?
Ah man that sucks that you got a bad one. I was lucky mine is fine and it’s a great figure but yeah, overpriced. Gotta have the little fella though. If I were you I’d definitely be getting a replacement though. I’ve been through the process with Nippon Yasan before and they were good.
Very nice figure, price point is the issue for me, but it looks great in this review though
6:33 made my day 😂
BBTS wanted $125.00 for this plus shipping. so you got it way under what they wanted for it.
Awsome Action Figure review
$95 from Toy Ninja. Should arrive in a couple days.
We shall see if it was worth it
That 3rd head (closed eyes) is his passing gas face.
Yoda is an non articulation, articulation figure.
And no snake...darn!
Great review as always
