I’m an MK4 kinda guy... love that 20th anniversary
I hear ya. I really liked this one. Seemed pretty solid. Might want it more if I didn’t just have one.
Damn it's tough possible rust on the R32 could still be under corrosion warranty 12 year, I believe it's when 1st customer picked it up from dealership so if picked up mid 2008 could still be under warranty until mid 2020...
Good point. What are the chances of them fixing that? Not sure. Haha
@@spottedeuros1529 each dealership I've dealt with is different,I've got turned down from the walk around but then go to another and have them take photos and send it off and approve. I've used this twice, sometimes they fight if it looks like rock damage caused it to rust, if you still pull the trigger and get them to approve then it's still a win. R32 are a hot commodity in VW group enthusiast world and could bring high numbers if fixed up right.
i recently brought my 2008 rabbit to get rust warrantied at VW and they accepted no problem
Own a R32 myself, R32 is a classic dude!
Love the R32
Yes Josh buy the R32. TRhazma (something like that) did a high milege GTI build and it help his channel grow a lot.
I am Iraqi and I had golf 4 ,5 and now golf 7 it's all wonderful cars to get but my advice if u like speed and look take the golf 5 R32 or the Passat
loving the channel....im vw guy...currently have a lifted 2012 touareg tdi...and mk5 tdi jetta...one day id love a golf r32 or golf r
Thanks man! This was a fun video. How did you lift the Touareg?
@@spottedeuros1529 There is a guy on the forums and instagram _alex_gee_ He builds them its a spring spacer lift. I have 2.5 inch lift and about to squeeze 33s on it. Which is pretty big for a t3. Setting up for a cross country overland trip
Mark's World so cool man. That would be a blast. I’ve heard of doing that. How have they been?
@@spottedeuros1529 i really like it...gives it a nice look and helps for trails and clearance, cant wait to see Colorado, utah and amazing places like that
Mark's World that will be a blast. Post more videos on your Touareg.
It's too bad that Passat isn't a TSi or a TDi, but given the choices, I'd still take the Passat. It looks to be in much better condition than the other cars. That 2.5 engine, although not very exciting, is pretty bulletproof and cheap to fix. I owned a 2008 Jetta with the 2.5 engine and when I sold it, it had 160K miles and was still running strong. My daily driver is a 2014 Passat TDi SEL Premium which I absolutely love. Keep making these videos; I enjoy going on these little journeys with you.
George Gonzalez TDI gang in the house! I have a 2013 Audi A3 TDI that I bought from the Audi dealer with an amazing price.
I would love a Passat Tdi. They have held their value better than the golf and Jetta. Wish they would have made an AWD version. I’ve never bought a Passat. I’m always looking for an excuse.
I would inspect underneath for rust before I choose any. But I love the R32!
James Lattibeaudiere yea, I usually take a look underneath more for oil than rust. We don’t typically have rust issues here. Also I buy a lot of cars from California and Las Vegas.
@@spottedeuros1529 okay noted. Rear oil leaks are the worst!
It's either the GTI or the R32...which ever fetches the cheaper price. You'll have some (ok, alot) work to do on either... Once taken care they should fetch a decent return, and after you've enjoyed them of course!
True either one would be a blast!
@@spottedeuros1529 I forgot to say...do you really want to deal with the rust on the R32? That seems like a lot of repair work that may or may not be worth it... Also, have you ever thought about getting an OBDEleven? Just something to check out those cars/check engine lights prior to you bidding on them. Gives you an idea on something not bad or something WAY bad. Just a thought.
R32, love the seats, rust sucks... but fun car with VR6 and AWD
I know. Sounds so good. It would be so much fun in the snow.
Love that passa,t got my own loving it but its more like comfortable car to drive not really fun i am using it on motorways :) But if for fun i would choose R32 mk5
Exactly. It would be fun to have extra room and have more of a cruiser.
I would go with the GTI or the Passat. Great videos by the way, I really enjoyed the $900 GTI! Did you sell it?
Thanks to watching. I sold the $900 GTI a couple months back. It was fun driving around.
@@spottedeuros1529 it looked like it was a lot of fun. The videos made me want to pick up a mk4 again, I always wanted one also back in high school. Looking forward to seeing what you end up finding in the future!
i say 1st choice R 32 its stock the 2nd the 20th AE but will it pass emissions with the mods on it need to scan see what's up with the CEL you need to VAG COM them see for hidden issues
Good point. Not sure. Defiantly had some mods to it.
I'm interested to know why everyone thinks you should buy a mk 5 rusty R32 with over 200 thousand miles on ???
How are you able to just walk the auction lot like that? Do you need a license? Or can I just walk in and do what you’re doing?
These auctions you have to have a license. It’s called Manheim biggest dealer only auction out there. There are some that are open to the public though.
Spotted Euros Thanks for the info!
why y don't try to deal with most efficient gas cars like spark, mirage, yaris, versa etc...
Dejan C These turbo charged engine will get just as good of gas mileage without eating away your soul.
@@spottedeuros1529 I forgot in US gas is more cheap than in Canada , here fuel efficiency is getting important
The best option would be passat, since it didn't had any problems and it looked good.Gti was cool, that sound and everything but I personally would not buy it since it had some scratches and more stuff on the body. But its up to you 😜 I have passat also a 2004 one and I love that car, drives smooth and something feels just right with that car 😀
Yea I agree. When I am buying and selling cars so much some of the body damage doesn’t bother me too bad. I guess because it didn’t feel like my car. It’s different if I was looking to keep the car for a longer amount of time. I’ve always wanted to drive a Passat around.
VR6?
R32 for sure, wait go for the gti.
Either one is a pretty good option!
R32, or gti
How do i get into buying cars at auctions
Get a dealers license.
shit i bought a 2001 Golf gti VR6 with 85,000 miles on it for $ 1,800.00
definitely MK5 R32!!!
Such a cool car!
Every man and his dog has a GTI, get an R32.
Cracked windshield, it's a no-brainer....R32
The cracked windshield seems to call to me.
R32!!!!!
R32 definitely
mk4 R32 is better but hey if you can get it cheap
Yea I liked the R32 as well. Unfortunately all these cars sold for more than I was wanting to pay so I didn’t end up with any of them. The hunt continues.
Next time.. how much the R go for
I think it sold at 2,100. Auction fees are about 350 so all said and done would be about 2,500. Maybe I should have gone for it because that still seems cheap but the guy who owned it had it posted locally for 4,000 for a while and wasn’t able to sell it. So maybe it could get 3,500 but the rust makes it hard.
Yeah that's really not to bad
Buy, the r32 !!!!
I’m with you!
R32
i would never deal with any automatic transmission big chance to fail
That mk5 generation automatic is probably the worst. Especially 06 and 07.
@@spottedeuros1529 yes but engines like 5 inline is so reliable.
Dejan C I agree. They have been using that engine for a while.
Dude doesn’t even know what a 20th is
R32
