If u aren't moved by this story. U don't understand. Thank you. These guys lived it. The PBR was born from this love of cowboying. Riding bulls. Being tough. Think I met a few at Gordyville USA. Great memories.
I've alway's loved the Rodeo, but I'm a racer at my core & when the racing world lost Davey Allison in 93, Lane was my first thought, they were so much alike Davey & Lane, in talent level, in career success early on in their career's, both undoubtedly headed straight to the top of their chosen profession's & both beloved for their easy going, kind, alway's smiling selves. The world was a little darker after they left it. ✝️ 🙏 😞 RIP LEGEND'S
One of my friends died in 96 at the age of 17 I was 16 he meant a lot to me and I still to this day miss him and wish he were back here real friends never leave the heart and mind
They don't make cowboys like this anymore!!! And having a friendship like he and Lane had is almost unheard of today!!! God bless em and i enjoyed watching them both as a kid!!!
31 years later and you can tell it is really hard for him to talk about losing his friend. So sad. These days young people call acquaintances friends. They don't even know the meaning of the word, in my opinion.
I was driving truck back then. I was going thru Cheyenne wishing that I had gotten there a little earlier so I could have went. So I had stopped for a break in Cheyenne and had started out on last leg of trip to SLC, UT. I was listening to the radio when they came on they air and told us about Lane Frost. I was a big rodeo fan you understand, when that was announced, I just had to pull off the road for a little bit to I guess just gather myself up. Lane Frost was the man! I followed him quite a bit. His rides on I think it was Red Rock and Yellow Jacket. Memory not very good but I think that was just a couple of the bulls.
I remember watching Lane and Tuff as a kid, me and my best friend would try to ride his dad's bull's because we thought we were Lane. Needless to say we ended up in the ER a few time's. We were only 11 years old doing that crazy stuff. The world is not like it was 35 years ago, they don't make men like this anymore.
Tuff and Lane were at the top of their game, and then that last day in July came around and the rest is as we say "history". I wish he didn't pass away, he was my idol even if I was born decades after that
I was fortunate enough to meet my heroes when I was 12. In 1987 I was introduced to Lane and Tuff. It is a memory I will carry to my last breath. Great riders and better men that were more than happy to spend time with a starstruck kid.
My parents named me after Lane Frost. They were at the rodeo when he died. They said the place erupted when he finished the ride but when he collapsed they said you could hear a pin drop from 100 miles away because it was so quiet. Anybody who hasn’t seen 8 seconds needs to watch it immediately. One of the best movies ever in my opinion
Great interview, Tuff hardly talks about it, yet wants to open up here and be venerable for a window... thats why he's Tuff... some if the greatest bull riders that ever was.. because it starts on the inside ..

So Tuff I understand the pain of losing not only a road partner but someone who was so close that they are like a brother to you. And that ride will never be forgotten along with the memories that were made on the journey before. Tip of the hat to ya bud.
Met Tuff. At Lakeland Florida twice. Was awesome. Jerome Davis. JW Hart jumped on shoot next to me. I was 8n awe. Love these guys. Love the movie of Lane Frost. Being close to buddies growing up. If u aren't moved by this story. U don't understand. Thank you. These guys lived it. The PBR was born from this love of cowboying. Riding bulls. Being tough. Think I met a few at Gordyville USA. Great memories.
This guy is one of my heroes! To a kid from Chicago, I’ve always loved this guy and I always will.
Great interview. Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome. Thank you for watching
When you loose a brother it's hard you never forget.i think of my bro's everyday.
Thanks for sharing.
Tough interview but awesome!
I have a big brother that I love him and he saved me and he will always be my hero I can’t imagine losing my big brother
Hell of a thing to happen, we love you Tuff!!
I grew up idolizing Lane and Tuff
Thanks for sharing your video. I enjoyed watching. Take care and God Bless.
Great interview, Tuff hardly talks about it, yet wants to open up here and be venerable for a window... thats why he's Tuff... some if the greatest bull riders that ever was.. because it starts on the inside ..
Legends never Die!
WWG1WGA.
Long live America.
We loved watching Tuff and Lane. Two bad dudes.
Just thought about lane..looked up some of his older vids and found this. What great timing..
Freaking, awesome to have such a friend. You HONOR his memory.
Glad to see those boys are still able to move around
Grew up in El Paso and was blessed to get to meet Lane because of Tuff.
My band was playing at The Hitching Post Inn that night....and the audience was beyond sad.

Tuff my mom and I would always watch you and Lane ride. I have a hard time now watching 8 Seconds. I'm so sorry you still have a hard time now missing Lane. Y'all were the greatest riders back in the day.
I remember the movie!! So tragic what happened to Lane frost😞😞😞 may he rest in peace🙏🙏🙏
You can tell this man has taken some serious head shots. To think what these men will put themselves through for their love of the sport and for our entertainment. Thank you gentlemen!!
He had to have his face reconstructed.
This was like watching a therepy session with someone who was taught to keep their emotions inside and finally decided to go talk to someone but theyre hesitant to open up...... I dont mean that negetively, sounds like he needs more conversations like this
Thank you for the post... I will share with Jack... he truly loves visiting with his friends about there personal life’s etc.
Come to Wyoming some time,. these guys are literally all like that.
Man the guy is a true cowboy a rodeo hero. He will never be forgotten
I feel his pain I lost my best friend who I grew up with in a drowning accident in 1991 I miss him to this very day 😊 still cry when I think of him rip John John 😢
Wow that’s raw emotions that is most definitely sincere, sad story to hear but good to know he had true friends
Love you Tuff ! Hey man no one told us keeping a memory alive would hurts so bad ! Thank y'all for everything you gave us . Some of the best years of my life with my grandparents if we weren't watching y'all, we were keeping tabs on y'all Through the Grapevine lol. Which is why you got to respect old folk with the telephone they knew what you did when you did it how you did it and how many times you scratched your butt while you was doing it with a rotary telephone ! Well hell it was like we was there man lol ! God bless a cowboy .
Tuff, Lane and Cody were inseparable. Some of the best bull riding I’ve ever seen and three of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. I was a little girl with a huge crush. Lane was a bull riding God.
Lane was everything. One of a kind. He set the bar for alot of Rodeo Boy's not only as a friend but as a competitor. He was loved by ALL❗🐮🐃🐂
