Superb video! I love the rendering and the color grading. I've just bought this anamorphic adapter but I don't understand why the image is all blurry (I can't focus anywhere). Do you have to get a Samyang dock station and update the lenses to use it? (I'm afraid I've been ripped off, I bought it second-hand). Thank you in advance for your reply and sorry for my bad English.

Hi) thanks. Its Soft Focus Mode. You can read info on samyang official site: Hold down the Focus Hold Button for at least two seconds in MF mode. This toggles focus save and loads.

@@aero8k Hi, Thanks for trying to answer me :) Finally I solved the problem, it was a question of updating. If the lenses were released before the adapter was created, you must update with the dock, otherwise the image is completely blurred from minimum focus to infinity, and it's not the slight artistic blur of Soft Focus mode, but a really big blur where all you can see is bokeh :)

Lovely cinematography! I own nearly all the V-AF lenses, so I'm well situated to get the anamorphic adapter. I'm still evaluating the usefulness, since I'm just starting out. I'm also evaluating the lens quality and character. Overall, I'm very happy with the flares -- not too extreme, but I'm not in love with the "capsule" shaped bokeh with sharp edges. I imagine that I would need to manage that via focal length and t/stop choices, and also careful selection of background. Fewer bright point sources when the background is very out of focus, for example. Your thoughts?

Yeah, that's right, but good cinema shooting is not easy.
Adapter is heavy, I had to spend time to put him on the ronin rs4, but its real.
I used ronin follow focus without external monitor, and its difficult too, cause fx3 screen so small 😅
I really like cinematic look of samyang adapter, need time to learn filimg with my new setup... and also i waiting tilta nd filters with clamp for dayshootng)

@@aero8k Thanks for all the details. I have external monitor + rig with handles so I think I am prepared for the weight. But no motor-driven follow focus. Only manual follow focus. I won't try it on a gimbal. Mine is too small anyway.
