    I really love the way that Australian locomotive power looks. Very sleek and sharp. Plus the location you've shot this at is beautiful. It's amazing how so many places in Australia remind me of places I've seen here in the States.

      Hi Pat, it's funny because I think our "Box" locos are boring..LOL. Give me an SD40-2 anyday , or even a Gevo, but I guess it is what you are used to seeing everyday? When I was in San Diego, I felt at home with all the Gum trees down there , and many locations out in California did remind me of home.
      There are many good spots in the Hills and I can't wait to move there and find a few favourite locations!
      Thanks for watching!
      Gregg.

    Nice catch, interesting how the grain hoppers have all the graffiti on them they must have floated to the USA just recently (lol) . It’s amazing how the loaded train struggled up the hill. Hope it’s starting to get cooler down there. Cheers from Terry in Nebraska.

      Thanks Terry! The graffiti is disgusting and we let them get away with it...I'd cut their fingers off and make them clean it off!

    C'mon Gregg....we have train 'drivers'. Engineers design and project manage construction and civil works in Oz (and in the rest of the world as well). I'm a big fan of educating folks in USA that a whole world exists with different stuff and different terminology and metric measurements etc... Apart from that it's another great video. 👍

    What are some examples of locomotives operating along that road that require double or triple the number of units to achieve the same traction? Cheers, Joe.

    Nooice Vid as per usual! 1. New Microphone or new production technique added I Actually heard EMD rumble? 2. That stupid barbed wire cage near your previous location looks like it's supposed to stop people using those steps BUT the keep out sign is in the cage & it's definitely doing that job. What couldn't 'they' have just put a nice handrail down the steps?

    • @FishplateFilms
      @FishplateFilms  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Tubby! Same mic as usual. but I do EQ all the video clips to get the best out of the audio. These locos do sound better than some of the other new varieties? The cage is there to stop people walking off the platform end, but only acts as a handhold for people doing the wrong thing.
      Cheers Gregg.

      @@FishplateFilms Can you use a Parametric EQ & reduce the flange squeak & traction control squeal? The GE's all seem to have the same frequency. I'd LOVE to hear parametric set wide over the engine RPM range too!!! 🔊Your Vids are the best I've seen & I had 125 Subscriptions to just Australian Diesel Loco uploaders. I actually blame YOU & AM22 for my addiction to Mt Lofty videos.🙃Cheers, Tubby.

    Great catch I also love the locomotives and the paint scheme, question I live in the US, Ohio we also have the same paint scheme (SD40's) except the letters where I'm at are I,O, for Indiana and Ohio is this a common paint scheme? Or is it a specific company that this is their paint scheme? Stay safe and have a great day

    • @FishplateFilms
      @FishplateFilms  2 года назад +1

      Thank you ! This company was originally Genesee and Wyoming up until recently, and used their paint scheme from the US! I don't know if the new owners will repaint the locos, but I hope not!

    Unfortunately the above locos are anything but great sounding due to the mufflers, only noise they make is from the rooftop fans & the grinding which can be deafening at track level, even the horns are terrible (nothing beats Leslies 😁). Anyway hope you’re well
