I just want to say thanks for the video - this is the first video I've found that show how to disconnect a quick connection fuel filter. I have a Saab 9-5 '05 with the same type of filter I can't get off, and now I understand the principle. Much easier to understand watching it than reading instructions.
Vance You should probably instruct the DIYer that removing the residual system fuel pressure so as not to have a huge fuel spill removing the lines from the filter. This is best done before starting the removal by locating and removing the fuel pump relay and starting the car which will die shortly. Once finished with the replacement replace the relay and restart checking for leaks in the wheel well. Eye protection and a container to catch any filter might be helpful. Good video of the area of the filter which helps significantly. Robert
Good info. Just to let you know I did not do that in this video and the other times I've done the filter. It did sit a while and was ran within a few hours.
The sill doesn't bend. Lol. The jack is at the jack point of the pinch weld. Just looks odd because of the angle. The sill was not hurt in the making of this video.
@@vance580 Vance i admire your work, here and on the forums, but its clearly bending there. i just finished straightening mines, and i know what to look for. the jacking points are for the designated jack only. the one you are using should be placed on the bars by the exhaust pipes. btw just changed my filter today. thanks www.jaguarforums.com/forum/attachments/s-type-s-type-r-supercharged-v8-x200-15/7569d1296260030-s-type-jacking-locations-jackpoints.jpg

Witam.Pytanko co to za Jaguar,bo ja mam xf z 2010 roku,3.0 v6 benzyna 238 KM.Czy wlfiltr paliwa znajduje sie dokladnie w tym samym miejscu co na tym filmiku?
Someone got my car. I sold it back in August to buy another motorcycle. Since I am in college currently I needed to get rid of the payment. The bad thing about going back to school. Once I get done with school I should have another Jaguar and will return. I have a pick-up truck now to tow around bikes and the bikes are what I ride everyday to save on gas.
Great Video! Same as my 2005 Lincoln LS Sport w/3.9L AJ V8 ; Don't know why they put it there of all places; Under the Frame Rail would have been much easier to get to...
I came here by accident, you could put the title of your video more complete, and can be easier to other people find. You explained your video very well congratulation excellent video. Thanks a lot.
Would these directions be the same as a 2005 Jag S-type V6 30. (not a R)? Can you post a link to where I can get that Fuel line Disconnect tool. I went to advanced auto and I can't find that exact tool.
I'm not sure but I believe I've heard that this is the same for the V6 S-Type as well. The filter should be in the same location but not sure if the line are the same size. The tool was bought at Autozone.
great vid, really helped me out,i have a Jaguar S type 3 litre V6 the only thing is my fittings are the plastic clips, which you show in your video, sadly one of these broke and i cannot get the clips over here in the uk,i have tried everywhere,do you know of a site in the US where i could order theses from?thanks steve.
So if I may ask does this go for the s type jaguar even tho my jag isn't the racer just a s-type 3.0 meaning is thee gas filter in the same spot for thee 2002 s type 3.0?
Very true. My brother just picked up an LS, I was shocked how often they used the same parts. Just had my fuel pump replaced, that's how I knew of that access point. Be prepared with new gaskets and o rings, you'll have to rebuild the fuel pump assembly. Also, for the few dollars they cost, get the new strainers.
The car in the video is an 05 S Type R. If you know Jaguars can tell by the first frame. 05 was the only year with those wheels and body style and Brembos.

Excellent instructional video! Helped me with my 09 XF. Thank you so much.
Thanks for the video, it helped me replace my fuel filter on my 05 S-type. Mine has 117K on the clock and had the original fuel filter.
This video helped me sooo much. It resolved all my 2002 Jaguar S Type issues. Thank you, thank you and thank you!!!! Oh ya, thank you!

I don’t mind it much, I was able to change mine without jacking it up or taking the wheel off.
was this a rear wheel
