Man Ash was amazing back in 2017 and somehow I never got his videos from 2020 or something. I only used to follow him and Ranjit for phone reviews (Beebom too for quality videos). He's also so technically smart. Really wish he delivers videos like before. And he definitely deserves more subscribers.
Think that I'll go with the Neo 7 pro. If you are spending 30k on a phone, the Neo 7 pro makes more sense. However, Vivo/Iqoo should offer an unlocked bootloader which Oneplus does. Ironically, the nord has more optimized cameras as Vivo is known for its camera prowess. It's even funnier that the Edge 40 edges out Oneplus despite an inferior on-paper omnivision sensor. While Moto has some nifty security features, most gamers will choose Iqoo.
It all depends on software processing at the end. Remember mi a1 having an omnivision camera giving one the best portrait photos at that time even outperforms iphone 7

The main problem is with ISP, where Snapdragon processors are capable of capturing triple 4K HDR videos but Mediatek can capture single 1080p HDR videos. This is where the cap starts to build.
So motorola edge 40 can be used for gamming without getting overheat or lag for like one hour or two doing hardcore gamming in Genshin or Tower of Fantasy?, I really liked that phone 😍 wireless charging and underwater resistance at a very low price is something you don't get in other brands 👍

They are not even comparable. Idiots are just convinced by specs and buy a phone like iqoo and all. But the software is soo shit that using that phone after an year feels so frustrating. I have used an iqoo phone earlier, every time I used to pick it up, i always felt like just throwing it away. Pathetic software. At this point it only makes sense to buy either a motorola, pixel, samsung or an iphone. Each and every chinese phone has downright pathetic software filled with ads.

Oneplus is somewhat better but after 1 or 2 years we get motherboard issues and screen line issues. Its better to just not buy these phones, in order to keep costs low they do cost cutting on vital phone components also. And the annoying ads are filled everywhere in the os.

I use Moto Edge 20 Fusion and we have still not received the promised Android 13 update. With Android 14 update round the corner, it just goes to show how slow Moto is when it comes to updates. I have the Moto Edge 30 and after a buggy OTA update the system partition has kept bloating for no reason. From the 128 GB of internal storage, the system occupies 97 GB currently and keeps growing everyday. Even the Android 13 update didn't fix this issue and the Moto developers have been unable to fix this since February. There are tons of users complaining on the moto community forums, for some it has reached 107 GB or even 119 GB making the phone practically unusable. This is why I've decided to steer clear of moto phones going forward. Who knows, one buggy update and the Moto Edge 40 may suffer the same fate.

My budget Samsung got stolen from a bus stand few months ago. There I was in search for a new midrange phone. I really loved edge 40 when it came out. And honestly if it was in stock i could have bought it but i decided to wait for Nord 3. Nord 3 has everything I wanted from brand name to specs. Also one thing Ash didn't mention is the Alert Slider!!! Such a cool and signature feature of OnePlus which is also one of the reason I'm going for it than Edge 40.
I would recommend sir that you should have tried comparing the Nord 3 with moto edge 30 fusion as in the performance issue would have been sorted out and would be a win for both and even the price difference might have been reduced so if a camera comparison or full phone comparison between these 2 phones is it possible ?

The Nord 3 just beats the Moto hyped up phone hands down. Absolutely worth the 4k extra. Point to add: Techwiser did a battery test and the moto edge 40 just could last for 5 hours whereas the second worst on the list was 8 hours. The battery and the chip on the moto just doesn’t make the phone worth it. For 4k extra, you get a flagship chip. And for the throttling issues and the camera(although I have found indian units of the nord to capture great photos), I would hope that OP pushes an update to fix those things. It has done in the past with the op11, so expect it from them. And if they do that, moto doesn’t even stand a chance!
OnePlus SoT is 5hr even after having 5k mah also has heating and throttling issue I don't think OnePlus is worth of paying extra I would rather go with edge 40 or Iqoo Neo 7 pro instead of shitty Nord 3 which heats up and 5hr of sot is worse OnePlus optimisation sucks here

And the prices regarding smartphones and their components were affordable 3 years ago but now all the components have become expensive that's why the asp has gone to 25-30k which was earlier around 20k... If you're not a mobile gamer, then the Moto is easily the better choice imo. Midrange chips nowadays are good enough for everything besides gaming and they last too. Also, the IP 68 rating, especially at this price is HUGE. Very handy feature that gives you peace of mind, even more so now during the monsoon season. Dealing with water damage sucks. This is a very underrated aspect of the moto. I don't think any other phone offers it at this price.

These are completely different models. One has ip68, wireless charging, eSim, is lightweight and compact. Has clean Android with incredible Motorola software and customization on top., which does not ruin stock experience but can create additional value. Other lacks all mentioned above but has slightly better camera and SoC. Also its less affordable and not available worldwide.
Not having any display protection is very bad imo... It's a shame because I read somewhere that the Samsung M34 has a Gorilla Glass 5-protected display.
Moto has neg glass protection but still it would be better if you slap tempered glass... And m34 has a weaker chip, weaker display, cheap build, no charger and case in the box... Though they're from different price ranges but since you compared i thought of doing it too
Agreed. Having a Gorilla Glass (or a quality equivalent) is a must on any phone, not something you can skip on. I had a moto G52, great phone but same crap as this Edge 40 - some NEG glass or whatever. Thing melted when some angle grinder sparks landed on the display and it got holes in it... Then the side-mounted fingerprint scanner did not work with even slightly moist fingers, they had to be completely dry.... So I said F it , threw it out and got a Samsung A33 with Gorilla Glass 5. Zero issues with the display now, fingerprint works 100% of the time, but the phone is a furnace - one Viber call longer than 10 mins and it's ready to go up in flames, gets uncomfortably hot to the touch.... Even running Spotify gets it warm, it's ridiculous. Exynos FTW lol. So yea, Samsung-s are no saint, either. If someone can recommend a mid-ranger that has Gorilla glass, does not heat up, is snappy enough for everyday use and has a in-display fingerprint scanner that works 100% even with wet hands (I need it for the bank app), it would be very much appreciated. I don't care about cameras, gaming performance or HDR display nonsense, I just need something that works and works well.

The Nord 3 just beats the Moto hyped up phone hands down. Absolutely worth the 4k extra.
Point to add: Techwiser did a battery test and the moto edge 40 just could last for 5 hours whereas the second worst on the list was 8 hours.
The battery and the chip on the moto just doesn’t make the phone worth it. For 4k extra, you get a flagship chip.
And for the throttling issues and the camera(although I have found indian units of the nord to capture great photos), I would hope that OP pushes an update to fix those things. It has done in the past with the op11, so expect it from them.
And if they do that, moto doesn’t even stand a chance!
OnePlus SoT is 5hr even after having 5k mah also has heating and throttling issue

Nord is for simpletons who run after specs, Edge 40 is for people who want a good experience. There's a massive difference between the two, doesn't make the other garbage straight away.
What about the widgets like speed dial or calls?? Does OnePlus Nord offer this time atleast? And the OnePlus with their last update to 12 has screwed up on Android Auto feature. Is this taken care this time? I have been asking a lot of others reviewing this product and none wants to talk about these.. can you @C4ETech talk about this??

If Poco could provide GG 5 protection to both sides 3 years back on their M2 Pro for less than half of the price then why can't others do the same in 2023 for 30K worth phone?

And the prices regarding smartphones and their components were affordable 3 years ago but now all the components have become expensive that's why the asp has gone to 25-30k which was earlier around 20k... So yeah having a screen protector will solve the problem, and screen protector or tempered glass don't ruin your touch experience too

If you're not a mobile gamer, then the Moto is easily the better choice imo. Midrange chips nowadays are good enough for everything besides gaming and they last too. Also, the IP 68 rating, especially at this price is HUGE. Very handy feature that gives you peace of mind, even more so now during the monsoon season. Dealing with water damage sucks. This is a very underrated aspect of the moto. I don't think any other phone offers it at this price.

If only edge 40 had both physical sim i would have bought it. I have both Vi sim and it doesnt provide esim option with prepaid sims.

These are completely different models.
One has ip68, wireless charging, eSim, is lightweight and compact. Has clean Android with incredible Motorola software and customization on top., which does not ruin stock experience but can create additional value.
Other lacks all mentioned above but has slightly better camera and SoC. Also its less affordable and not available worldwide.

Not having any display protection is very bad imo... It's a shame because I read somewhere that the Samsung M34 has a Gorilla Glass 5-protected display.
Moto has neg glass protection but still it would be better if you slap tempered glass... And m34 has a weaker chip, weaker display, cheap build, no charger and case in the box... Though they're from different price ranges but since you compared i thought of doing it too
Agreed. Having a Gorilla Glass (or a quality equivalent) is a must on any phone, not something you can skip on. I had a moto G52, great phone but same crap as this Edge 40 - some NEG glass or whatever. Thing melted when some angle grinder sparks landed on the display and it got holes in it... Then the side-mounted fingerprint scanner did not work with even slightly moist fingers, they had to be completely dry.... So I said F it , threw it out and got a Samsung A33 with Gorilla Glass 5. Zero issues with the display now, fingerprint works 100% of the time, but the phone is a furnace - one Viber call longer than 10 mins and it's ready to go up in flames, gets uncomfortably hot to the touch.... Even running Spotify gets it warm, it's ridiculous. Exynos FTW lol. So yea, Samsung-s are no saint, either.
If someone can recommend a mid-ranger that has Gorilla glass, does not heat up, is snappy enough for everyday use and has a in-display fingerprint scanner that works 100% even with wet hands (I need it for the bank app), it would be very much appreciated. I don't care about cameras, gaming performance or HDR display nonsense, I just need something that works and works well.
@@tusux2949 doesn't matter if your phone even has gg victus protection it still can't survive angle grinder sparks as those sparks were too hot for the phones... And regarding side mounted scanners , each and every scanner doesn't work with moist hands specially in budget phones.
