Definitely Samsung has become hypocritical and greedy. I used to buy galaxy notes back in the good old days when Samsung put everything in to their smartphones, and the box always had all the accessories in it . I look at how far Samsung got and how popular it became by having the most value packed phones on the market , and how it has changed . Samsung not only became the Apple version of Android, Samsung overtook Apple for pure greediness imo. Anyone that bought old school galaxy devices will know what I'm talking about. The last good galaxy I bought was the galaxy note 9. If I unboxed the galaxy note 9 today against any high end galaxy models you would like to name , The old galaxy note 9 would put them all to shame .

The problem with these large corporations is that many of these decisions are made my managers who are afraid of doing something that can negatively affect the financial performance of their departments. So they are always making decisions to look out for themselves and only care about the monetary value they derive from any policy. I'd argue it's the same thing that killed LG mobile division. If they listened to customers rather constantly investing in gimmicks they'd still be around.
What's the use of providing 7 years of OS updates when their display gets green lines after warranty period??? There's no point in providing software updates when the hardware won't be able to last for even half the period.

7 years of update is just a bait. Sadly some people actually fall for it. None of my Samsung phones lasted over 2 years. Either the battery gives up/bloats, the display cable degrade (white screen), mainboard fail, back cover fall off or the infamous green/purple line. Unfortunately for the last issue, most companies are using Samsung displays so they are prone to the green/purple line as well.

This was incredibly informative Ash! I had not heard of Galaxy Upcycling before watching this video. It was such a Utopian idea. It had so many real life use cases and could have helped create so many new businesses. It is really infuriating that Samsung pulled the plug.
My biggest complain with samsung is that samsung removed a standard android feature in contacts app. You cant just add a contact to homescreen and what is even worse that they dont want users to not add contacts on homescreen because they have added contact widget to assign a particular contact to the widget. Why they have created so much hustle for users to have a standard feature built into android is unexplainable. Here are the list of major problem specific to samsung smartphones 1. Unstable bluetooth connection. 2. Samsung and google assistance interfere each other. 3. Preinstalled substandard apps. 4. Almost no support for non-flagship in both software and hardware side.
Why no one is talking about samsungs infamous display problems? My s22 ultra has been useless after one ui 6.1 update.😢 due to display bleeding issue,and samsung service centers quoted 22-27k for screen replacement😢.
I swear it's the same for me. Till 30th April Samsung promised free screen replacement, but there was a catch. The Phone needs to be in perfect condition. My phone's body has a dent so they completely denied the free replacement. My point is, the display was ruined with green lines because of a software update THAT SAMSUNG PROVIDED. I didn't do anything to ruin the display. Instead of taking accountability like OnePlus or Apple did with their green lines issue, they added terms and conditions to a problem which happened because of them in the first place. The screen of my phone was also in perfect condition, so it was really annoying when they rejected my claim.

Samsung is for tech savvy people. Non tech people should just buy iPhone. I have the same model. It doesn't lag at all since I have uninstalled and disabled all the unnecessary apps.

Also both of them are performance focused brands which sacrifice other specs mainly secondary and tertiary cameras and frame materials. That's why they can price their phones aggressively. Techno and infinix has terrible software and less software support, usually giving only 2 major updates. They also don't have as many retail store partners as Xiaomi/realme and saves on that front. Xiaomi (not redmi) and Realme both give very well equipped all rounders in their price bracket especially display and cameras. Look at 14 Civi or GT 6T. All phones are getting expensive nowadays, it's just a market thing. The most loved budget to mid range brand, Moto is also chinese.

I dont find proper sense in that logic of restricting people to 7 spare parts. I mean its for a reason. The major reason people avoid going to authorized service centers is to skip those super expensive components and find cheap alternatives instead. If you are already paying 20,000 rupees for an oem display, the service charges arent going to be that high tbh. Its better for customers too cuz you get oem warranty and theres no liability or pr issues for the company too. Thats my opinion.

I recently used a moto edge 50 and was amazed by the camera performance, while my s24 ultra was a joke, mine was noisy and auto mode on both was miles appart, samsung has lost its way slowly after LG quit the market. Great hardware maybe but software is slow( i have 80%free storage) and flagship devices doesn't compete well now. Will probably switch to Pixel or Apple
I hate Samsung, I have a s21 fe. The battery backup is trash. It kills phones with update. Then the battery will last only 1 yr and have to replace it. Then the adhesive just comes of from the back even for their most premium phones. Will never buy a Samsung product ever again

My S20 fe started overheating after recent updates and died within 2 years of purchase.
Scamdung quoted me 20k for mother board repair.

I've got the moto edge 2023 aka edge 40. Ifixit doesn't repair it. Nobody sells a replacement screen. Fortunately moto sells the phone heavily discounted now.

I hate Samsung, I have a s21 fe. The battery backup is trash. It kills phones with update. Then the battery will last only 1 yr and have to replace it. Then the adhesive just comes of from the back even for their most premium phones. Will never buy a Samsung product ever again

They have trash cpus but atleast they are cheap.
My 14 months old S23 plus battery bloated out of nowhere. Never used while charging nor gamed or anything heavy. Mostly used for my work, camera, casual browsing. Battery cost in bangladesh almost 8k. Disappointed.

Agree with your points ...but it's a corporate company ... there are few things u have to do to keep company a profitable ...it s sad ... but for a new company or medium but bit large companies they can be friendly... but once ur in a corporate structure ... this has to be done ...it's sad ... and if more pressure comes the company (like eu) thry will do one step above this and do lay offs and give these changes are reason ....

Oppo has increased leaps and bounds in OS. Also using a Reno since 4years but not a glitch except screen problem after 3 years which they replaced for free.

Because us market is diff than india most phones on 30 to 40k are dead and my a52s is still going like a champ android 14 and aug patch plus 778g still matches 7 gen1 7gen2 performance wise has 5g as well its long term and i am on orginal battery and it still gives me 5 to 6 plus hrs over a day of use on constant 120 hz cameras are still great too dual speakers plus headphone jack its overall long term value of use not reasale
