Alternate Sonia death: she wakes up early in the Strawberry house and hears something. She goes to investigate and Nekomaru falls on her, making Gundham feel that much worse about the entire incidence.
Yeah! I was just about to comment this exact thing! I think it would provide the most despair inducing for not only Kazuichi but also Gundham. The drama that would occur between Gundham and Kazuichi with the incident with Sonia would be amplified. I think that would make the case more impactful for Kazuichi knowing that it was an accident but it was because of Gundham that it happened ultimately. I think that Gundham would be full of remorse when he finds out that Sonia is dead because it wasn’t intentional for her to die leading him to die with so much despair that this franchise loves to do so much :)
Can I just say that akane is underated. People talk constantly about how she didn't care for nekomaru when she is literally crying over his corpse in ch4 and after the trial gets angry at herself for not being able to protect him. And for the whole she got over his death to fast is basically explained by two facts. 1 we all mourn differently. Some people shut others of, some people cry a lot and just stay in bed, some people move on really quickly or don't cry unless they are reminded of them, some people takes day, some take weeks, and some even take years. She mourned over him her own way and just because she wasn't moping over it or constantly doesn't mean she wasn't mourning in her way. Her backstory also kinda explains this imo and she constantly had people dying around her when she grew up and if you were weak you die. So she had her siblings that she couldn't protect die around her so she learned to mourn quickly to be able to protect her other siblings.
Many people claim Fuyuhiko's change was too sudden. I completely disagree, the Fuyuhiko that we see later is his actual personality, the past being a result of the pressure he felt because of being the leader of the yakuza and a defense. I really think he is a really good survivor, though i think it would have made for a good plot if Fuyuhiko had died, but i would have liked it if it happened later on in the story, propably chapter 4.
@@midnalazuli793 I mean, it was more a situaton of opening up more to people and trusting other ones because he realised that they cared for him, I personally call it character developpement, but yeah it is up to you
They should’ve survived together, since if Hiyoko was responsible for the death of Sonia, which she despised Fuyuhiko for being responsible for Mahiru and Peko’s death. She would feel really bad because she would feel like a murderer, and she literally said she would’ve spat on Teruteru if she could, because she was so against murder. And Fuyuhiko could’ve maybe became friends since she was forgiving Fuyuhiko already not to mention they both lost their best friend in chapter 2 and could relate to feeling like murderes.
Actually, instead of making Sonia a victim I would just make Chapter 4 a double blackened case, with Gundam and her as the killers. That would've been really cool tbh
I mean, that sounds like a good idea but in trigger happy havoc, it was revealed that only someone who delivered the final blow would be considered the blackened. So it would've still been either sonia or gundham the blackened. Cool idea tho ngl,,
@@xbsent.mxnded imagine if they both did the final blow as the same time, for example they both smash his head with a hammer at the same time, this would make both of them hit the fina blow AND make both the blackends. You see what i mean?
If hiyoko survived, kazuichi would have most likely died in her place. Here's how: lets say the Sonia volunteered to get the mirror for hiyoko out of pity, but kazuichi being the simp he is volunteers to get it for her and ends up getting murdered by mikan. Sonia being Sonia obviously wouldn't care that he's gone and would just think he's unreliable. She stays and helps hiyoko with her kimono. During the trial hiyoko would definitely go off on Sonia for not caring enough and taking his admiration for granted(considering she's still hurt from mahiru's death) . Then mikan of course mikan would scare the fucking shit out of hiyoko, making her rethink her bullying shtick.
But if they kill off Kazuichi in chapter 3, then they can't solve the case in chapter 4. They wouldn't have gotten the clues they needed to confirm the structure of the fun house if he wasn't there to fix the elevator or the Strawberry House door or figure out the trick with the time if he doesn't disassemble Nekomaru. Also, I doubt Hiyoko would trust the guys or let Sonia go unless she promised not to tell anyone about her sash.
I would love hiyoko as a survivor, because it was so werid to see all 4 of the twilight syndrome girls dead before the 4th chapter it's so sad to see that not one of these 4 girls didn't get a chance to live. Thankfully all 4 of them are still alive but for the killing game one should have lived and that person should have been Hiyoko.
Er are u talking about all the girls or are u including Fuyuhiko? Bc spoilers: Girl E gets killed by fuyuhiko in an act of revenge for killing his sister Girl D(mahiru was technically an accomplice, hence y the meetup with fuyuhiko and getting killed by peko) All the other girls are safe (mikan, ibuki, hiyoko) And guy f (fuyuhiko) was the brother of the victim (i.e his sister) and the one who killed girl e Damn this was long but feel free to correct me :)
Honestly yeah Hiyoko and Fuyohiko should’ve both lived. So Hiyoko would’ve had to actually deal with the consequences of Fuyohiko almost killing himself because of what she said, and Fuyohiko doing the same for getting Peko to kill Mahiru Side note, but it would’ve equally interesting if Fuyohiko died and Peko was a survivor instead. Seeing as Peko considers herself as nothing but a “tool” for him I wonder how she would react and overcome his death.
You don't need Hiyoko to replace anyone so she can survive. Just add her to the survivors. Dr1 had six survivors, why can't this game? Edit: it's been 9 months and I now realize might not be the best idea. Just have Sonia die instead of Hiyoko
Mostly for Kazuichi and Akane. If Sonia dies, despair will hit Kazuichi and I think Akane's a person that can teach him to get over Sonia's death. Both of them can have better roles as surivors. Also I just feel like Sonia doesn't add much to the survivors so I'd rather have the game focus on 5 survivors rather than bring in a 6th (Sonia)
Sonia dying in chapter 4 and ibuki being the only victim in chapter 3 also fixes a lot of the time travel shenanigans or whatever mikan had to do, it could also establish a relationship with gundham and kazuichi in chapter 4 where they work together to solve Sonia’s death only for it to be gundham the whole time, which could be cool
I would actually save Hiyoko and "kill" Souda beacause of a reason, every survivor except Souda Hajime lost Nanami, Sonia lost Gundham, Owari lost Nidai and Fuyuhiko lost Peko but what about Souda? thats why i fill that Hiyoko fits better than Souda since she DID lost somebody, she lost Koizumi and i think her character development could go better like that
Consider: Sonia does die in Chapter 4 (although I have seen a great case for why she should have died in Chapter 3 instead of Hiyoko), and it is because she saw Gundam murder. HOWEVER, it is not because Gundam kills her to survive, because it’s heavily implied that Gundam didn’t plan to escape. If Sonia is going to die in Chapter 4, I would have had it where Sonia wished to defend Gundam despite knowing he was the murderer, they get into a fight, and Gundam accidentally kills her in their fight. I think it would have been very interesting to see his distress in the end when everything was exposed, and it would still allow Kazuichi and Gundam to have that drama.
I guess the reason I said Gundham kills Sonia in chapter 4 is just a difference in interpretation. It is implied that Gundham murdered to save everyone else and I do think he initially had that in mind. However, his murder plan was very well thought out and is one of the best in the whole series. He puts in more work into his plan then he needed to if he was trying to sacrifice himself such as placing a fake murder weapon at the crime scene. The only reason he even got caught was the fact that Fuyuhiko was coincidentally chilling at the lounge. I believe that in the back of Gundham's head he just couldn't give up on his life no matter what. Imagine if Fuyuhiko wasn't at the lounge. Gundham would never have gotten caught and from the trial we could see he never admits he is the killer until he is caught in the act. If Hajime never caught Gundham as the killer, it is likely that Gundham would have escaped and as a result killing everyone else, even Sonia. (this is a what if situation so its up fro interpretation)The fact that is murder plan is well thought out and the fact that he doesn't reveal himself as the culprit in the trial until it is clear he is the killer makes me think that he would kill Sonia if she sees him kill Nekomaru because he just cannot give up on his life.
@@DerpyHiro ye, but this is in line with Gundham's character; he literally said he couldn't just give up on life, so of course he didn't make the murder case easy to solve. Even so, I think he still hoped he'd be discovered. The Sonia thing the comment above mentioned would totally be in line with everything, considering Gundham would be hugely displeased in Sonia trying to protect him, since that would be at the cost of her life. Sonia would be throwing her life away in a manner Gundham detested, surely that would have warranted conflict.
Consider: Sonia discovers Gundam is the killer but he didn't see her, still she kept it a secret until she breaks down and has to expose the person she fell in love with. Now that would've been great!
Ngl if Gundham survived then Sonia, then it would’ve been a good chance for Kazuichi and Gundham to push aside their differences and actually learn to respect each other and possibly become friends.
Actually I like Hiyoko dying because Mikan was in love with Junko and Mikan tried to feel that despair that Junko admires so the despair disease beings Mikan's memories back and in Hope's Peek High school she befriends Ibuki and Hiyoko which were important people in her life and like I said she also loves Junko and Junko killed the two people that matter most in her life Yasuke Matsuda and Mukuro Ikusaba. Mikan did the same and killed the people that matter the most to her, Ibuki Mioda and Hiyoko Saionji in order to feel the despair Junko was so obsessed with.
But after everything fuyuhiko dealt with it would be suuuuuper despair inducing for him to die! As hiyoko cant apologize to him forgive or even try to make up for what she had done! So she faces the consequences of her actions and may even cause suicide because of how hard it is to deal with! I think of that as despair!
And they could probably kill sonia in chapter 2 instead of mahiru, so mahirus death wouldnt be mealingless AND kazuichi could get some more character development!
@Owen Epstein I'm pretty sure it was like an easter egg the developers wanted to add because Fuyuhiko was supposed to die in chapter 3 but Hiyoko took his place.
Personally, I feel that it would be really interesting if during trial four we had two victims and two blackened. What if the situation with Nekomaru and Gundham still occurred, but Sonia had a similar idea to save all of her friends and tried to kill someone in the grape room. Souda, discovering her plans the morning (note this would be after nekomaru's murder) would discover her plan and Sonia would kill him. However, a similar rule as in v3 (Monokuma made a rule that only the first blackened would be executed if two blackened existed). However, Sonia, only wanting to save her friends and being extremely guilty, would confess first. However, Nagito would help the group to discover that Gundham was not only the blackened, but killed first. That would lead to some interesting interactions between the cast, and Sonia would have some interesting development in coming to terms with the fact that she killed someone, and learning not to take things to extreme measures. It would also provide some interesting tension after the fourth trial, (especially if Hiyoko survived). In other words, my list for the survivors of SDR2 would be Hajime, Akane, Sonia, Fuyuhiko and Hiyoko. This way all of the survivors could have in-depth development. I absolutely love Sonia; she's one of my favourite characters in the series, but I still think she was horribly under-utilized.
Danganronpa Development team: Person 1 - "So guys, let's talk about the third case!" Person 2 - "And if we kills Fuyuhiko and Ibuki?" Person 1 - "No, it will make Peko's death irrelevant." Person 3 - "Let's kill Hiyoko instead!" Person 1 - "PERFECT!" Me playing the game: Lol, Mahiru's death is so meaningless...
@@alloehvera XD Although I understand the joke and that what the video's author wanted is to kill Sonia, but I think killing Sonia is not good either. The best thing that Kazutaka could do is actually not create a third case with two victims! Don't get me wrong, but actually except for the sidekicks, the protagonists and the antagonists the only other character in the entire franchise that we can actually say isn't useless is, ironically, Sonia Nevermind. Sonia is by far the character that, except for the three archtypes told above, is the most helpful of all. For example, Sonia is the character with most of the Consents in the entire franchise. A lot of Sonia remarks are pretty useful to the debate and she is constantly talking about useful subjects too what, if you compare with everyone else, just Mikan and Maki comes closer to do something like she did. The only problem wiith Mikan is that she died (And she was more useful just when they're talking abou the legistics) and Maki's problem is that chapter 5 exists (And actually she is really insecure about a lot of opinions that she has, so she usually don't tell them to the others). So Sonia isn't good to be a victim because following the game's pace no one else would be good enough to argue against Hajime at chapter 5. Sonia is such a beautiful little shining star in that chapter, few characters could come close to do what she did and make the situation emotional. Thinking now, I believe that doesn't exist characters that aren't in the archetype that did the same things that Sonia did. And if you can argue that she did nothing the entire game so I say: she did! In class trials! But the others characters? They did something important to the story at the point that it could work as an argument to use against Sonia? No! They didn't! Don't come and tell me that a character growing as a person is doing something for the plot because, at least in Danganronpa, these changes effects just the characters arcs and has almost nothing to do with the plot itself. So yes! Sonia didn't do much to the plot... LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN THE GAME EXCEPT FOR THE PROTS, ANTS AND SIDEKS!!! She is a good character and is really helpful to what the game propose. That's why I think instead of killing her Kazutaka should change the formula. It isn't funny to play a mistery game that you know what will happen next. And don't be angry at me, I'm not raging you or something like that! XD I really think that your joke is funny, so sorry if I upset you or made you embarassed. My apologies! ^^
I personally believe that hiyoko and fuyuhiko are similar characters. I would love to see interactions between these two and I feel that they should both survive
It would also be funny for Hiyoko to insult all the masterminds or whatever. (Idk if the masterminds actually meet the students in Goodbye Despair since I haven’t finished it)
Personally, I think Fuyuhiko should absolutely survive. Even against Hiyoko. For one, he started to befriend people pretty quickly, because he isn't actually very anti-people. He just didn't trust anyone yet, except Peko. He's essentially putting on a tough guy act to make up for his lack of natural intimidation. And the big showy gesture (i.e. slicing himself open) worked, people could tell he was genuinely sorry. And for the next point about the dorms. Hajime wouldn't replace Fuyuhiko, he's the main character, it's too crucial information for you too just gather. And investigating as Nagito, still, is crucial. And so we would have to play as one of the girls for grape house. But where does that leave us with our PROTAGONIST. He just doesn't do anything? And playing as Chiaki has the potential to spoil later game, as we see their thoughts. (Yes, you could play as one of the others, but Chiaki was suggested, plus who else?) In summary I don't think the game would have worked as well with Hiyoko, compared to Fuyuhiko. He may not cause as much conflict as Hiyoko, but that's not the only thing that's fun. I personally really liked Hajime and Fuyuhiko's interactions. In free time events, and out of them, They get along which I enjoyed, he was a good friend, which was nice especially considering Hajime isn't particularly close to the rest of the survivors. Most importantly, this is my opinion, and if you disagree that's fine. But yeah, even over Hiyoko I'd want Fuyuhiko. (I want to be clear, I know you included him anyway. But nevertheless my point stands. Yes, this is an edit.)
I completely agree, if we say Fuyuhiko dies, then we should be ready to make a ton of changes in the game. Fuyuhiko was a crusial character that could not be replaced by anyone else. He had to make so many difficult decisions that later on affected the plot. He was the one getting everyone back to their senses and despite his looks really mature. His interactions with Hajime are one of a kind, and help us see and understand him. I also feel like at times, if it wasnt for him, many things would have been different, not only chapter 4, but all the chapters to follow. In the last chapter, his interactions with Junko really shook me up. Also, he is i think the only character who was confirmed to have a romantic interest with someone and his feelings being returned. Now, I want to say something about his change. The drop of his tough act. Many think it was because he lost Peko, he decided to be stronger and face up, with the help of everyone else. That he was trying to survive because she couldnt. But i dont think its just that. Fuyuhiko felt regret, maybe one of the biggest regrets in the series. A lot of things would have been different if he told Peko more clearly that he loved her before she killed Mahiru. He felt like it was his fault everything happened. If you notice, Fuyuhiko doesnt have an urge to live. In the start at least. He has an urge to survive. He wants to make Peko's sacrifice not be for nothing. But, he is ready to die, if it means things getting better for everyone else. Like Peko sacrificed herself, he was ready to do the same thing. But, he got motivated by everyone. He wanted to be friends and survive and Peko could survive with him. He learned to care and show that he cares about others. Though i will say, if Fuyuhiko had died it would have made for some really interesting plot. I feel like he would sacrifice himself for one of the others to return the favour to Peko, as i think the only time he would maybe be targeted is chapter 3. But i believe that if he had to diem it should have been later on, so we could see his character develop. Still, im really glad he survived. Thats just my opinion though :)
yeah. Also they would get a similar character development, so it’s useless to keep them both alive. The reason why Peko’s death would have been useless if Fuyuhiko died is because she sacrificed herself for him, whereas Mahiru just got killed. It would have been nice to see Hiyoko’s character develop because I couldn’t stand her, but I’d still choose Fuyuhiko over her. People would have made the same complaints if the situation was reversed lol
@@dimitramantzourani9565 i think some of what you said is weird because i never saw peko and fuyuhiko as a romantic relationship at all, more like a brother and sister relationship fuyuhiko just wanted someone to be his friend and he grew up with peko - they were raised by the same people so it’d be weird if they dated because they’re basically siblings
@@diavolosteddy7594 I don't have a problem with people not shipping Kuzupeko, but personally I do not see them as siblings. They weren't raised as equals and they didn't have a sibling-like bond (like Fuyumi and Fuyuhiko). It's meant to be ambiguous and I can totally understand seeing there bond in a non-romantic way if that's what you want. However, Peko is Fuyuhiko's canon love intreast and the vise-versa.
I hate people saying Sonia is not a good character without having a solid proof and valid criticism like yours. Aside from Hajime,Nagito and Chiaki, she is the most intelligent character and contributed more than most of the characters.
@@forestlol6865 I personally like Byakuya, he is the most realistic antag. Everyone praises Kokichi and Nagito and insults characters like Miu and Hiyoko. Even tho Kokichi and Nagito did worse things than these two, some people hate on Miu just because she insulted Kokichi.
@zick Byakuya doesn’t even seem like having a mental disorder... neither does Kokichi. *Also man imagine people making Kokichi a UwU softie* Also also I hate how the game painted Kokichi as this true “nice guy who wanted to save everyone”. Like dude- he wanted to save everyone? He literally made 3 people die because of him!
@@dimitramantzourani9565 This. I swear to you when I say a Mahiru and Fuyuhiko survivor story would be god tier. Like they both hate each other and both lose someone close to them. Like chapter 3 you see them hate each other guts, but then slowly become friends. Hiyoko is good, but people will just compare Hiyoko's development to Fuyuhiko, plus I don't see her exactly forgiving him/trusting him since he was going to kill Mahiru.
@@jjmara01I think you've actually changed my mind. Originally I was thinking that Sonia should die instead of Hiyoko. Potentially she goes to get the mirror for her, and then Hiyoko has to deal with the fact that she (in her own belief) caused the death of the first person to truly show her kindness after Mahiru's death which, along with Milan's talk about bullying, would truly break her. But this would also really work well. As you said, Hiyoko would have to have some major character development to not hate Fuyuhiko (though it could potentially work with what I laid out previously), but it would also work really well with him and Mahiru. They both lost someone close to them in case 2 (Peko and Hiyoko), and Mahiru would potentially believe that her actions regarding the murder of Fuyuhiko's sister were indirectly responsible for Hiyoko's death. This could bring them together as friends in the long run, after they go through a phase of blaming each other for the deaths (without Fuyuhiko then Peko wouldn't have killed Hiyoko, without Mahiru then there wouldn't have been any reason for Peko to kill Hiyoko so Fuyuhiko didn't have to).
I think if they had Sonia be the victim in chapter 2 it would have been more beneficial for the plot. They could have replaced the Sato (person who killed Fuyuhiko’s sister) with another student from Sonia’s country that she bonded with as they both feel outcast-ish. Then Sonia could take Mahiru’s spot as covering up her friend’s murder. I would have Mikan still kill Ibuki only, however make it to where Hiyoko and Mahiru got in a fight earlier, so Mahiru turned toward Ibuki as her friend, and is devastated by her death. Then in chapter 4 Gundham kills Nekomaru, however Mahiru in the other house commits suicide as she feels alone because Ibuki is dead and Hiyoko is still mad at her. This would allow Hiyoko to still get her character arc, but it would also create an interesting trial for chapter 4 as it would seem that the killer was moving around the fun house where they have to deduce Mahiru’s death was unrelated and Nekomaru’s is the only *real* important one.
My Killing Order - Case 1: Teruteru Hanamura kills Byakuya Togami (Same Circumstance, but we get more of a focus on how Byakuya knew a murder would occur and sacrificed himself and how Teruteru knew the same and instead tried sacrifice everyone else) - Case 2: Peko Pekoyama kills Mahiru Koizumi (Same Circumstance. Just please cut some of the Twilight Syndrome game off, as it was so dragged out) - Case 3: Mikan Tsumiki kills Ibuki Mioda and Sonia Nevermind (Instead of Despair Disease, have everyone begin regaining some memories as they sleep, as Monokuma promised in Chapter 1 that everyone would get their memories back if a murder occurred. Mikan would see how she was treated badly by Hiyoko in Twilight Syndrome, with Ibuki and Mahiru not defending her even when they were friends. She’ll begin seeing memories of Junko, her beloved. She’ll plot to murder as everyone gets increasingly distant and on-edge due to the memories they see. Hajime gets apprehensive because all he sees is Izuru and he doesn’t recognize him. When he admits this, everyone sees Hajime as the outlier again and suspicion about him mounts) - Case 4: Gundham Tanaka kills Nekomaru Nidai (Same Circumstance; I love this trial and how it was technically unsolvable if Gundham hadn’t led everyone to the answer) - Case 5: Chiaki Nanami kills Nagito Komaeda (Same Circumstance, but have Chiaki maybe be a bit more vague about her AI origins and perhaps delve more into the Ultimate Impostor reveal) Survivors: Hajime Hinata, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu, Kazuichi Soda, Hiyoko Saionji, and Akane Owari (Why? Hajime is obviously going to survive, and I would actually have him be more involved with the other survivors throughout the main story. Have him comfort Fuyuhiko and Hiyoko after Chapter 2 and befriend Kazuichi more readily after Sonia’s death in Chapter 3. Have him truly prove his worth and have his newfound worth in Chapter 6 be because of the friendships he has made, which have helped him find something worth fighting for and living for. Chiaki obviously still appears to him, but he has a more solid foundation to stand up for his friends now. Hope’s Peak Academy may have betrayed him, but his friends are still worth fighting for. Hajime may not be an Ultimate, but he’s a part of their class nonetheless. This is his worth. Fuyuhiko still survives in this version, but things happen a little differently after Chapter 2. He has lost his eye and needs to be nursed after he slits his stomach open, so Mikan takes on this duty. Fuyuhiko begins caring for Mikan and opening up to her, which of course translates into him defending her wholeheartedly in Chapter 3’s Trial. When he finds out that she is the Blackened, he is devastated and feels lost yet again. This is where Hajime comes in to help him in Chapter 4. He begins distancing himself from the others again, and he even agrees with the Hajime is the Traitor Theory that Kazuichi comes up with. He eventually realizes how dumb he has been after learning of Gundham’s sacrifice and comes together with the group in Chapter 5. Fuyuhiko decides to stop being afraid of being vulnerable and is true to himself and what he wants. Maybe he spills some of his past to Hajime about Peko and Natsumi? How he knew about the Reserve Course because of her? Could be a bonding point. Hiyoko survives here, and it isn’t hard to see why. Just like Fuyuhiko, she loses someone very important to her in Chapter 2. Hiyoko still loses faith in the group after this, but someone manages to get close to her anyway, and this is Ibuki. After learning that she was friends with Ibuki from the Twilight Syndrome game in Chapter 2, Hiyoko is more open to Ibuki, who tries to comfort Hiyoko and take her mind off of Mahiru. Hiyoko, in turn, makes Ibuki feel better by being the only one to like her music. Hiyoko also warms to Sonia, who checks on Hiyoko periodically as she is locked in her room at the Motel. When Sonia realizes that Hiyoko could use the mirror from the Music Venue to tie her kimono, though, she decides to grab it and bring it to Hiyoko herself. This leads to her running into Mikan, who is still setting up her plan. Mikan kills her. These two deaths devastate Hiyoko even more, especially after Mikan targets her specifically at the trial for how nasty she has been. Hiyoko reflects over her actions and is quiet throughout Chapter 4. She eventually decides to be kinder and to work with the others after Trial 4. Hiyoko is no longer afraid of being weak, and Hajime helps her relate to Fuyuhiko and forgive him by forgiving Hiyoko for her past actions. Kazuichi is devastated by Sonia’s death in Chapter 3, leading to him being much more depressed and angry throughout Chapter 4. He accuses Hajime of being the traitor because he was close with Mikan and doesn’t remember his talent. He also constantly insults Gundham. Eventually, when Gundham sacrifices himself, Kazuichi realizes how good of a guy Gundham truly is and reflects on how he’s been acting and how useless he’s been to the group so far. He takes initiative in Chapter 5, cheers Akane up with Minimaru, and constructs his plan to restrain Nagito. This Kazuichi is much less selfish and actually becomes someone whom everyone is proud of for his initiative. Maybe he has an implied romance/friendship with Akane, just to show how he’s changed from obsessing over the perfect Princess to instead liking an uncouth and fiery gymnast? Akane survives yet again! This time, she actually gets development though. After Nekomaru “sacrifices” himself for her at the beginning of Chapter 3, Akane spends her time worrying about him and her putting on a brave front to cover this up. His absence through the trial makes her more antsy and irritable. Eventually, when he reveals himself in robot form after the trial, she is hesitant to be near him. She believes herself unworthy of being his friend and feels guilty every time she sees his robot form. This leads to her ditching him in the Fun House for another partner and to her being uncharacteristically meek about their situation and fate there. After Trial 4, she regains some of her fire and sees Nekomaru’s decisive but controlled actions as the way to go. She finally begins embracing the others and begins warming to Kazuichi specifically because he made Minimaru for her. She begins seeing the others as family and wants to protect them just as she protected her younger siblings. Maybe she specifically babies Fuyuhiko and Hiyoko because they’re short? Could be funny while still being plot-relevant.
@Luna the Saint Bernard souda didn't bring nothing to the plot,Sonia did have moments while kaz had none,I agree with your opinion but just because hes relatable doesn't mean he had to live..
@@JiminBTS2 he had no plot moments? He had quite a few. He had the whole chapter where he didn’t trust Hajime, he had being the third person to discover the second body, he had the elevator to fix which helped them. Saying he had no plot moments is a blatant lie
I do agree that Hiyoko should've survived instead of Sonia, but I kinda prefer the idea of her being killed by Mikan over Gundham, as the whole idea of Gundham and Nekamaru trying to kill each other was to save everyone else from starvation, so for Gundham to kill Sonia after killing Nekaramu just kinda ruins that sentiment for me, especially considering their relationship. On that subject, I also think that having Sonia killed off in Chapter 3 not only sets up some character development for Hiyoko, but also for Fuyuhiko and Kazuichi. For Fuyuhiko, he'd be building a stronger bond with Hiyoko (not as strong as with Peko, but you get the idea) as they both work to redeem themselves. As for Kazuichi, he'd be coming to terms with Sonia not being this fantasy caricature that he pictured her to be, but rather just another human being just like everyone else, something that Gundham recognized her as, which would force him to acknowledge that Gundham really was the better match for her.
omg someone else thinks the same about chiaki as me.... she was such a waste of character esp with how important she is to the plot. shame they made her so boring and the fact we’re supposed to care with hajime about her death to that degree really took me out lol. edit: i know a lot of people r mentioning the anime as her saving grace, but honestly for me it made her and everyone else’s character worse. the fact izuru only put the junko ai in the neo world program cause he wanted to see chiaki again is soooooo bad cause he’s literally supposed to be emotionless and the forced in hinanami moments made all the other characters seem like one off jokes. plus the fact i really dislike munakata and chisa and rlly overall dr3 made me come out the series a little deflated 😨
@@HazelKnight34 I laughed at Chiaki's and Mukuro's deaths because I got an idea of a pencil holder where pens and pencils pierce through the character.
She wouldn’t have been a viable survivor just because she was more cheery and so the more optimistic vibe of their group would’ve never subsided; especially in chapter 5 with all of nagitos bullshit
That always got me wondering if mikan killed Fuyuhiko instead of hiyoko would it be a more planned murder since fuyuhiko is a yakuza i assume he is aware of some self defense i dont see fuyuhiko seeing mikan and just die instantly i expect that there would be a fight to break out and idk probably mikan just sets a trap for fuyuhiko
I think that‘s why I can‘t really imagine Fuyuhiko dying instead of Hiyoko (not only because I love him xD) like in the other games people who were familiar with death or were good at fighting didn‘t really die. *SPOILERS FOR THE OTHER GAMES* I‘m just going to list the people who did get killed. Like Tenko, Ryoma, The ultimate impostor and Nekomaru. The rest was responsible for a death and got executed or commited suicide. So for Tenko that was a well planned murder since she was trapped and had no way of escaping. The reason for her death would be Himiko because she took her place if Himiko wouldn‘t have been involved she would‘ve never volunteered so here I‘d say her weakness, Himiko got her dead. Then moving on to Ryoma, the ultimate impostor and nekomaru they basically sacrificed themselves. Ryoma completely gave up on life and The Ultimate Impostor wanted to protect everybody and died while saving the others and nekomaru is self explanatory. ANYWAYS these other people like Maki, Kiyoko, and Shuichi are pretty unlikely to die because Kiyoko just had this sixth sense where she sensed when something was off like when Makoto got attacked by the mastermind which would make it nearly impossible to kill her and Shuichi because he‘s the protagonist of course and Maki is kinda like Kiyoko as to probably being able to sense those things and I think it‘s pretty unlikely for someone to consider killing Maki. Kiyoko given the circumstances in the killing school life I doubt she would‘ve either sacrificed herself or killed somebody or commit suicide. Maki only reason for dying would‘ve been connected to Kaito but after his death she couldn‘t give up on life because of him so she would’ve died before Kaitos death but I can‘t imagine how or why. After this little ramble of mine I just think that Fuyuhiko wouldn‘t be able to die if not for commiting suicide but that is pretty unreasonable in my eyes especially after everybody told him he should live on because Peko gave her life for him. Peko being dead makes it impossible for Fuyuhiko to maybe die while saving her or anything similar to that. Also I can‘t think of any reason for anybody to try to kill the Yakuza other than him being somewhere at the wrong time like Hiyoko was. So that would raise the question for me in what kind of situation he would‘ve been killed off by Mikan in the third chapter. Because simply put I think it‘d be impossible for her to kill him head on. Well at the end I do gotta say my reasoning IS biased since Fuyuhiko is my favorite in Danganronpa 2 with Nagito. But I gotta admit Hiyoko character development would‘ve been pretty interesting especially because I pretty much hated her in 2 but she redeemed herself a little in the Anime. I can imagine her being like a kind of tsundere towards everybody but still fighting alongside everybody. Fuyuhikos character development was sooo well done tho. And also if he woud‘ve died in the third chapter alongside Ibuki that would kind of be the same situation like Taka and would‘ve worked because of this „chain“ like how two people always die in chapter three and in the last class trial of finding the blackened it was always a suicide. But I think it‘s good that it did not happen
@@buzzifivegaming6005 true true I do think that they did Taka and Hifumi dirty. like the whole time we see Hifumi as the horny weeb and nothing else. and when Taka got a little character development he died but that just boosts the despair the player feels.... *SPOILERS for V3* I also would‘ve liked to know more about Angie and have her around a little bit more for the conflict.
Honestly, I liked that Sonia survived. The game AND anime just really fucked her over. So did the fan base. Sonia got harassed by TWO people (teruteru and Kazuichi) and she never got her comeuppance or justice for it. It was even worse in the anime when Kazuichi planned to RAPE/MOLEST her. Plus she could have had a GREAT impact on the game if they just focused on her and Novoselic more than just shunting her to the side so Kazuichi and his “simping” (predatory) ways got to shine. I would actually kill off KAZUICHI, and make Sonia a good influence and friend to Hiyoko. Sonia is underratedly the SWEETEST character out of the whole cast and she could have had a GREAT impact on HIYOKO. Sonia is a Princess, she could have bluntly and authoritatively given Hiyoko the hard truth about how harmful her bullying is, and it would give Hiyoko a real good dose of reality. Plus Kazuichi as a victim would make Sonia a GREAT murder suspect to make the third trial more interesting, then it would shift to Mikan and Mikan getting found out. So in conclusion I would have Hiyoko replace Kazuichi and have Sonia stay alive. Just focus more on their development instead of Kazuichis “development”.
I agree plus no one realized how useful and intelligent Sonia is during the class trial! Her and Hajime have the most consent/agreement in the game. She is the best girl!
I would rewrite it like that: Keep Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 the same, but in Chapter 3 Akane fights with Monokuma, loses it and almost get killed, but Nekomaru defends her, he dies at that time saying something meaningful to her by his last breath. Later on the same chapter Ibuki gets killed by Mikan. We could see a character development for Akane and Hiyoko in this trial - Chapter 3 done. In Chapter 4 however the victim is Kazuichi and the culprit is Gundham. The reasoning for that would be simple; both of them wanted Sonia and the rest of the students to be save, so even if they dislike each other, they fight who gets killed and Kazuichi dies. In that trial Hiyoko could have said something to Sonia abt her behavior towards Souda and make her think about that or something, also she loses Gundham, her first ever friend who liked her just by being herself- boom character development for Sonia. The rest of the game would be the same, only Hiyoko being the survivor (Sorry for my english, it’s not my first language).
Between 1 & 2, the survivors in goodbye despair were so much more disappointing and it's probably one of my only gripes with the game. (I haven't completed V3 so I can't speak on that yet.) I didn’t really think any of them deserved to survive besides Hajime and Fuyuhiko, and i think the characters that ended up dying in the game were much more interesting due to the creators giving them more character development. I know in order for the story of the second game to play out, characters such as Chiaki and Nagito needed to die, but I feel like they could've at least given the surviving cast more character development instead of focusing on Nagito and Chiaki the entire time just for them to end up dead. Kazuichi, Sonia, and Akane all unfortunately still felt one dimensional to me by the end of the game. If I were to make any changes I personally would start off by giving the relationships between Akane & Nekomaru and Sonia & Gundahm more screen time. Next, I would switch Kazuichi's surviving spot to Hiyoko. This would make the entire surviving cast have one theme in common. Loss. Think about it...Fuyuhiko loses Peko, Akane loses Nekomaru, Sonia loses Gundahm, Hiyoko loses Mahiru, and of course Hajime loses Chiaki.
Honestly, yeah, out of all the people who should have lived, I would probably have gone with Hiyoko. Like, I may _dislike_ Hiyoko overall, but she definitely should have been a survivor because of how disappointingly cut short her development was. As for Sonia and Akane? Not gonna lie, I'm surprised you picked Sonia, honestly, but your reasoning made sense. I do have some disagreements with your pitch though. First off, I'm not 100% sure on having Gundham kill Sonia. It just feels... wrong, I guess is the wording. Gundham and Nekomaru's battle to the death was something the two ultimately agreed upon, both choosing to accept their fates no matter who lived or died. I'm not sure Gundham would do something as dishonorable as killing someone unnecessarily, especially someone he was as close to as Sonia. Granted, I don't have a better solution, but that's my take on it. Second, while I get your argument that Akane's 'strength' as it were would help her make Kazuichi stronger, I'm not sure that would actually work. Akane is very much someone who is stubborn and set in her ways. Even after Nekomaru's death and _second_ death, she constantly makes the same mistakes she did prior, rushing in full-tilt and causing trouble because she doesn't really think things through. It just feels odd that she gets barely any development despite everything she goes through. However, unlike the previous one, I actually do have an alternate proposal: have Nekomaru be the survivor and Akane the victim in Chapter 4. Imagine the despair Nekomaru would go through, not only having to see his friends struggle futilely against their impending starvation, but then seeing the body of his athlete, Akane, someone who he gave his life for once already, lying there dead. Suddenly, the fierce, energetic coach we all know becomes melancholy, blaming himself for failing his charge. In the end, however, Nekomaru finds pride in his athlete, realizing what she did in her sacrifice to save the 'team' as it were. At least, that's my take on it.
i really do like your alternative. I never really thought about Akane being the victim but I really do think that could work for both Akane and Nekomaru. As for the whole thing on Gundham my view on him is probably different from most people. I think for Gundham preserving his life is priority over being honourable. My main reason for this is how complicated his trial was and the fact he never admitted to his crime until he was caught. I guess you could argue the trial was only so complicated because his target was Nekomaru (a robot that can take a shot from a cannon would be really hard to kill) but his crime was a bit too perfect. If Fuyuhiko wasn;t at the lounge by coincidence, Gundham would've gotten away with his crime. I feel like in the back of Gundham's head he was always thinking about escape. Even when he was committing the crime. With his perfect crime and him not admitting to his crime until he was proven to be the killer, I feel as if it wouldn;t be a surprise if he killed Sonia just purely off of impulse. Because if he did escape with his crime, not only would Sonia be dead, everyone else would die as well.
Ngl tho Akane is one of the BEST survivors if you actually look into her backstory. She grew up poor and hardly had any food to eat, so she resorted to stealing it for her younger siblings, she would even let herself get gr*ped on a daily basis just for food, sometimes.es she wouldnt even get to eat that food. Then during the killing game she eats lots because she Dosent know when Monokuma will take the food away, and he does, and Nekomaru and Gundham basically sacrifice themselves for everybody. Also Akane dosent remember names because if you remember a name ou get attached to them, and because she grew up in a poorer neighborhood so people would constantly be dying. She also thought of Nekomaru as the one person who would never die, she thought Nekomaru would be there for forever, he was stronger than her and she looks up to him. Akane also Dosent have usual smarts but she does have street smarts. She even (I'm pretty sure) is the only character in the fun house who actually cares about everybody (especially those smaller than her) as they reminded her of her siblings, also since she was an ultimate despair she probably killed the people she loved most which are her siblings. *Side note, also the CREATOR OF DANGANEONPA SAID HE LIKES HINA BECAUSE OF HER DARKER SKIN, SO THE SAME WOULD APLLY FOR AKANE, AND THE OTHER DARKER SKINNED WOMEN AND HOW THEY ARE SEXUALIZED MORE
It would also be more impactful if Sonia died while her and Kazuichi were having some sort of fight or period that they weren't talking to each other. Even if not I personally think Sonia kinda ruined Kazuichi as a character, it made him really annoying and more 2 dimensional to me because he was always just talking about Sonia and seemed like he would do anything for her despite it only being because she's some pretty princess rather than any real deep interactions.
This may be controversial but I think Fuyuhiko and Hiyoko are too similar to both live. There development would feel the exact same to me but I’d thing you COULD have a suicide with Fuyuhiko for Peko in ch 3.
Not exactly, I mean they aren't just ''Bad to good'' Fuyuhiko is participant of what happened in chapter 2 and Hiyoko while is someone who has said some questionable things she doesn't have that level of responsability that Fuyu has.. In fact I would say that Hiyoko is indeed the perfect character to represent Fuyuhiko's guilt and how it evolves from it, because Hiyoko is a character who's biggest struggle is to learn to trust. While both leaving they can learn to forgive and be forgiven, to learn to cooperate with eachother. The twilight sindrome murder case was a tragedy with a lot of gray actions comming from both sides of this story, and making Hiyoko and Fuyuhiko surviving could represent and create something inspiring. But that's my point of view. Plus as DerpyHiro mentioned the dynamic of the two sassy lost childs being the voice of reason sounds quite endearing x) (sorry for my english)
I would to tho Saionji deserves so much love and knowing that some people love her and prefer her over anyone else makes me so happy :) also the idea of a Nagito and Chiaki investigation sounds amazing I would love that
I would gladly take Hiyoko over Kazuichi. Seeing her grow as a person would easily be satisfying, and the way Kazuichi interacts with Sonia is just… ugh.
A note for the Grape House Strawberry house players- I honestly do believe you would play as Sonia. Chiaki wouldn't have that large of a role, just out of nowhere, but it would make sense to play as Sonia, she kinda has playable character energy
I have a idea for how sonia died in chapter 4, Sonia wakes up early and walks around to get something and ends up under nekomaru as gundham drops him and she gets crushed and in the trial Gundam would feel guilty when they say Sonia died too and would accept his fate to be with Sonia in heaven.
If I were to change the survivors, I feel like Hiyoko should’ve survived instead of Sonia. Reasons: 1. Hiyoko had hints at a character arc but it never happened because of chapter 3. 2. Sonia’s only contribution in my opinion was a Love Triangle (more like a lollipop) in chapter 4. 3. Soda could’ve been given more develop with Sonia out of the picture. I feel like he would start caring more about his friends rather than just Sonia.
@@Alicia-yu5cq You’re right be she already had that Karma because she lost Mahiru who was a better mother figure than her actual mother. Her mother never really taught her anything in order to survive so that she will be reliant on her family. She also has to deal with assassins or people who want to take her down and the only real positive influence in her life was her father in which if you do her free time events, Hajime reminds her of him. She’s a lot like Fuyuhiko when you think about it and I feel like these characters would get along better.
Ok ik this might ruin the plot but look at this: Hajime lost chiaki Sonia lost gundham (why did he have to dieeeee) Hiyoko lost mahiru Akane last nekomaru (twice) Fuyuhiko lost peko. You see what i mean?
You know, I'm realizing that Hiyoko had an amazing potential and that makes me like her significantly more than before. A shame her character was wasted.
Seriously why do people not get that Hiyoko not getting to complete her redemption is the whole reason she died when she did its supposed to be tragic especially in comparison to Fuyuhiko who nearly died but survived to redeem himself and become a better person i mean the comparison is obvious they are both short blond and antagonistic to the group at first but after losing the person in the group they are closest to they start to change for the better but Fuyuhiko gets to complete his change while Hiyoko is killed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and the tragedy is that her potential redemption is killed too changing that to Fuyuhiko ruins that
Killing off Sonia would've made no sense for me. She is the prettiest and nice looking girl tbh and she looks like the female protagonist. The only problem with her is that she didn't show much progress and development during the trials.
@Luna the Saint Bernard Kaede Sonia and Kirigiri are my favourite characters I instantly liked them from their designs even before knowing they were the survivors well I really have luck with the surviving protagonists except Kaede. So Sonia definitely look like the female protagonist.
Sonia got over the fact that she was the main reason hiyoko died rather quickly, simply seeming to shrug it off, while if she died, kazuichi would have some room to grow up, and stop simping over a corpse. Fuyuhiko is honestly my favorite character, with him growing as a character early on, and akane might be used to help kazuichi, because due to her freetime events, most people can say she learned how to mourn quickly, which will help kazuichi. Therefore, no matter how pretty or elegant she looks, she really had no plot purposes.
I've watched your DR1 video on this as well and I'm just surprised that I agree with you on every point...You made me see some of the sense in Kiyotaka's death which literally broke my heart.
I would have made it so that instead of kazuichi surviving I would make gundham survive because it would be interesting to see how he would react because in the trial they would still think it was him until eventually something clicked and kazuichi was found guilty
I think Hiyoko is absurdly disgusting and I personally clapped at her death reveal (The only other characters I did that were Hifumi and Angie). Her death gave me so much satisfaction that I wouldn't change it for anything else. Not even being able to play as Chiaki.
I like your picks for survivors and victims. Hiyoko would be a great addition with your approach. And Gundham having to kill Sonia would be heartbreaking. I'd only change one thing, though. Gundham doesn't kill Sonia on impulse. He knows he has to but doesn't want to. Sonia gives him a proposition. She tells him either she gets away and tells everyone he killed Nekomaru or he kills her before she can get there.
Imo i would replace kazuichi with Gundam mainly because of how... boring and irrelevant he is. Also his interactions with Sonia isn't funny its just like a redundant gag in the game thats just annoying. Hajime is literally the plot point, Baby gangsta (fuyuhiko) is cute and his relationship with peko was also good story arc Sonia is just flat out hilarious And Akane is.... there, not that relevant but eh. Gundam however has the entire plot of SoniaxGundam and also, animals. And his personality. Also Hyoko really should stay dead as it makes the most sense for her to die when Mikan becomes Despair and I dont like her. At all. She's just flat out rude, provides nothing to the plot its just a waste of space and while she opened up mahiru. Nothing changed when she died. She was literally just a suspect which could have been like, anyone else.
Yeah that’s kinda true but hiyoko reallllly sucks you explained how she would change but everyone was happy when she died that’s pretty hard to recover from
I don't remember where I saw this, but I once saw a comment about Sonia being the mastermind and at the time it made a lot of sense and it could've been interesting. Wish I remember that comment, though. Nevermind, lol, just found a screenshot on my phone because I remember discussing it with a friend. Sonia could've been the real Sparkling Justice. She could've somehow discovered that Makoto was trying to set the rehabilitation plan and Sonia didn't agree with it. Sonia teamed with Alter Ego Junko by putting her into the Neo World Program with the agreement of "When all Remnants of Despair die, I will end you myself", she just needed to pretend to be a Remnant of Despair so she could go into it aswell. Then, in Chapter 6, she discover's Junko's true goal, she was betrayed by Junko just like Mukuro was, and once she gets to talk with Makoto, Kyoko and Byakuya, she realizes is best to co-operate even if the others are Remnants of Despair. Now that would've been a great plotline for Sonia. Wish it happened. Credits to whoever made the original comment, I don't remember the video though!
when i was at chapter 4 of sdr2 the ‘ultimate imposter’ was spoiled to me, not who it was, just that there was one, and i genuinely thought it was sonia because her homeland seemed so weird
Heres what i would do: Keep Chapter 1&2 the same Except Nekomaru gets injured in Chapter 1 and Comes back in Chapter 3 Chapter 3: Change the motive from the dispear disease to a raffle which Monokuma does - Mikan wins the raffle but the prize is just a crappy Monokuma toy. Little did they know the true prize was having the winners memories restored. Hiyoko tries to change and just ignore Mikan instead of being mean to her. There is a disease which breaks out but it turns out the entire thing was faked by Mikan who wanted people to take care of - she actually just drained the 'infected people's' blood to make them look diseased. Then she kills Ibuki who tried to escape. Chapter 4: I think making Gundham kill Sonia in Chapter 4 is a bad idea as it would make Gundham a lot less sympathetic. Sonia should be killed by someone else but use the rule from V3 where only the first killer gets executed. I think they should have made Sonia the real Sparkling Justice and have her killer be never discovered but highly implied to be Chiaki. My biggest problem with Chiaki is her lack of any real character flaws so making her have anger problems and violent tendencies would not only fit with her talent but make her more interesting. I also would have her hate video games because she doesn't find them fun because she wins all the time and that she thinks her talent is useless. Heres how the events would play out: Chiaki is suspicious and has been investigating the real sparking justice since chapter 3 because Monokuma let slip that one of the students was sparkling justice. Then in the funhouse Chiaki finds Sonia acting suspicious and confronts her about it - Sonia tries to stab her but Chiaki manages to disarm her and kill her in retaliation. This happens well after Nekomaru's death. Keep chapter 5 the same, albeit with the differences to Chiaki's character intact.
I don't really think Gundham killing Sonia would make his character less sympathetic if he shows a lot of regret for what he did. I think it would also fit with his message in chapter 4. He says there's no point of living if you're just waiting to die. Even though its implied he sacrificed himself for everyone else, he still clinged on to to every last bit of hope so he could live. That's why he doesn't just admit he was the killer during the trial. Now if he killed Sonia along with Nekomaru, he would be in so much more emotional pain during the trial and I think that could help his character. The changes to Chiaki are very interesting though. The only problem is Chiaki was made to help everyone else so I don't think she was programmed to kill anyone intentionally. But a way to get past that is to say the virus could've corrupted her somehow. Also Sonia actually being Sparkling Justice would've been pretty cool
Tbh I found a lot of this reiterated from Aeris Akamatsu but then the chapter 4 thing and the comment you made about Chiaki made this pretty unique. My respects 📈📈
I still think I would make Sonia die chapter 3 and recently I watched someone else talk about replacing Sonia for Hiyoko and that definitely makes me think it’s a better idea for Sonia to die chapter 3.
The only reason I wouldn't kill off Sonia in chapter 3 is because at that point in the game, she barely gets anything as a character. Now to be fair, I don't think Sonia gets that much focus even as a survivor and I don't really like the focus she does get (the love triangle with Gundham and Kazuichi. I just don't think it helps her character that much) but if Sonia died in chapter 4 at least we would get her interactions with Gundham and Kazuichi before she dies. Also I think her bond with Gundham could've been built up more in the previous chapters because it just felt a bit too sudden for me. I would use chapter 3 to build that up a lot more.
@AnimePerson but it makes sense tho she is so nice that wouldn't she be an easy target for remnant of despair mikan to just kill her like it wouldn't make sense for mikan to kill sonia since she's one of the nicest people therefore it would remove suspicion from her
I would’ve made it to where Sonia died instead of Kyoko or Ibuki. If you replace Kyoko just swap which survivor tells the other about the mirror in the Music Venue, and then if it’s to swap Ibuki just give Sonia the Despair disease
Here's my way Chapter 1: Keep it the same as is Chapter 2: Victim- Hiyoko (I know lots of people want her to survive but this would give MAHIRU a chance to have character development) Killer- Fuyuhiko Acomplice- Peko Chapter 3: Victims- Kazuichi and Sonia Killer- Mikan Chapter 4- Victim- Nekomaru Killer- Gundham *this is where it changes and Monokuma is like oh after the next murder you can bring somebody back Chapter 5: Victim- Chiaki Killer- Nagito (Just switched their roles) They also chose to revive Fuyuhiko Survivors: Fuyuhiko Ibuki Mahiru Peko Akane And Hajime
I also killed off Hiyoko hut Kept Mahriu because, I wanted Hiyoko to understand that her actions have consequences and so she would know what it felt like to die so she would eventually apologize to Mikan, and the rest of the cast for her behaviour
I have a headcannon where Fuyuhiko and Hiyoko would’ve had a friendship where they just rareinsult everyone whenever they feel like it once they realize that their friends aren’t really dead and it was all a simulation, and the fact that you put her as a survivor on your list only makes this headcannon stronger for me
idk if gundham killing sonia makes sense since its heavily implied their fight was both a sacrifice on both their parts. that they fought to sacrifice for the rest. perhaps sonia died in chapter 3 as she would try to get the mirror for hiyoko. that would give hiyoko development too as she would blame herself for sonia's death
A heartbreaking thing as an alternative to Sonia getting killed by Gundham would be like, her having given up on her life in service of the others, killing herself but because she did it in a place not en route to grape tower, Gundham wouldn't encounter her. This would make her death super painful because she didn't amount to anything and also she wasn't able to see that there was another way. I imagine that in order for Gundham to still die as the blackened, she would have bled out and finally die shortly after Nekomaru which would give an interesting perspective as, like Mondo not understanding the changes to the crime scene, Gundham has no idea why she's dead. Maybe he could even have to use it to obscure his own crime in some way, having to use his best friend as a way to prolong his own life but ultimately still die. This leaving Kazuichi far more contemplative as both the girl he was crushing on and the boy he fought over her with so frequently dead in the same chapter, both in service of letting the others live on. It would really make it feel like all these tragedies and sacrifices would additionally make their endgame determination more poignant. Every death past chapter three excluding Nagito would be a sacrifice, making them more resolute to look to the future because what else would all this be for otherwise?
The only reason why I don't like the idea of Sonia dying is because of how many strong female characters that had to die for male character's development.( !!!SPOILER WARNING (FOR ALL GAMES) !!!) For example : sayaka died for makoto's development. chiaki died for hajimes, and pekos for fuyuhikos development. and kaede died for suichis major development. So if sonia died then it would definitely be for kazuchis development adding to that change of development.
Alternate Sonia death: she wakes up early in the Strawberry house and hears something. She goes to investigate and Nekomaru falls on her, making Gundham feel that much worse about the entire incidence.
Omg that would have been such a plot twist!
OOF thats actually worst(in a sad way)
That would be perfect for the characters!
Hooly shit
The ultimate survivor is Akane's button.
@chihiros dungbell Bud your name-
Btw i cried at mondos trail and at chihiros death
so... SO TRUE
That is some fax
@chihiros dungbell Lol its okay but thd whole "Why did you murder him Mondo thing killed meh"
Ang
Bro I'm still mourning over my dead grandfather
@@Jimz729 but akane grew up in a environment where people died like so quickly so she got use to it and that probably why she got over it quickly
@zick yes but I watched akane's freetime events first before I watched it
Akane may not be my favorite I still like her I totally agree with ur reasoning and it is sad that she is underrated
i loved akane before i knew her backstory but it made me love her more
Many people claim Fuyuhiko's change was too sudden.
If that's how he always was, then it isn't character development.
@@midnalazuli793 I mean, it was more a situaton of opening up more to people and trusting other ones because he realised that they cared for him, I personally call it character developpement, but yeah it is up to you
Fuyuhiko's arc honestly made love him more then I already did. The angry gangster is truly the character of them all
They should’ve survived together, since if Hiyoko was responsible for the death of Sonia, which she despised Fuyuhiko for being responsible for Mahiru and Peko’s death.
Cool idea tho ngl,,
@@xbsent.mxnded they could use the same weapon to use the final blow.
Just so Ghundam can survive. I know that’s exactly what you’re thinking
@@xbsent.mxnded imagine if they both did the final blow as the same time, for example they both smash his head with a hammer at the same time, this would make both of them hit the fina blow AND make both the blackends. You see what i mean?
That actually happened in SDRA2 but in chapter 3
"I think Chiaki's personality is kinda stale"
Chiaki, the AI program: "what would make you say that?"
I don’t
But if they kill off Kazuichi in chapter 3, then they can't solve the case in chapter 4. They wouldn't have gotten the clues they needed to confirm the structure of the fun house if he wasn't there to fix the elevator or the Strawberry House door or figure out the trick with the time if he doesn't disassemble Nekomaru. Also, I doubt Hiyoko would trust the guys or let Sonia go unless she promised not to tell anyone about her sash.
This.
If Kazuichi died, I would be bawling.

I would love hiyoko as a survivor, because it was so werid to see all 4 of the twilight syndrome girls dead before the 4th chapter it's so sad to see that not one of these 4 girls didn't get a chance to live. Thankfully all 4 of them are still alive but for the killing game one should have lived and that person should have been Hiyoko.
yea I really think they all deserved more screen time
Er are u talking about all the girls or are u including Fuyuhiko? Bc spoilers:
Girl E gets killed by fuyuhiko in an act of revenge for killing his sister
Girl D(mahiru was technically an accomplice, hence y the meetup with fuyuhiko and getting killed by peko)
All the other girls are safe (mikan, ibuki, hiyoko)
And guy f (fuyuhiko) was the brother of the victim (i.e his sister) and the one who killed girl e
Damn this was long but feel free to correct me :)
Honestly yeah Hiyoko and Fuyohiko should’ve both lived. So Hiyoko would’ve had to actually deal with the consequences of Fuyohiko almost killing himself because of what she said, and Fuyohiko doing the same for getting Peko to kill Mahiru
Side note, but it would’ve equally interesting if Fuyohiko died and Peko was a survivor instead.
Also the murders are modeled after the first game’s so you have to keep 2 deaths, and 2 murder’s are in all three main game for chpt 3

Also maybe i will change Sonia for Gundham, but thats because im a Gundham fanboy
Yeah but hey danganronpa makes you feel true despair by killing off characters you like
Well Hagakure in the first game didn't have anyone so Kazuichi isn't the first one to survive without lossing someone
I’d defend myself... but you actually have a point...
I like sonia very much, I'd like to see how kazuichi and gundam react when sonia dies
Ibuki is low key one of the most mature members of the DR2 cast given her personality.
I agree with that! That would be super nice and interesting to see tbh

Alternate title: why i like hiyoko
You really put much thought into this! I live for well thought scenarios and i personally really like this one.

Sonia didn’t do crap. Why not kill her?

Peko, she WAS loved by fuyu and even in her excecucion in her last minutes of life she thought she killed him :(
It would also be funny for Hiyoko to insult all the masterminds or whatever. (Idk if the masterminds actually meet the students in Goodbye Despair since I haven’t finished it)
I personally think the survivors of danganrompa 2 would be
Hiyoko
Akane
Hajime
Ibuki
Kazuichi
YES all my favorite characters survive
I love how this just abruptly ends
(Yes, you could play as one of the others, but Chiaki was suggested, plus who else?)
In summary I don't think the game would have worked as well with Hiyoko, compared to Fuyuhiko.

@@jjmara01 It would have been amazing, I'm sure of it! 😊
Literally everyone survived except chiaki.

- Case 2: Peko Pekoyama kills Mahiru Koizumi (Same Circumstance. Just please cut some of the Twilight Syndrome game off, as it was so dragged out)
- Case 3: Mikan Tsumiki kills Ibuki Mioda and Sonia Nevermind (Instead of Despair Disease, have everyone begin regaining some memories as they sleep, as Monokuma promised in Chapter 1 that everyone would get their memories back if a murder occurred. When he admits this, everyone sees Hajime as the outlier again and suspicion about him mounts)
- Case 4: Gundham Tanaka kills Nekomaru Nidai (Same Circumstance; I love this trial and how it was technically unsolvable if Gundham hadn’t led everyone to the answer)
- Case 5: Chiaki Nanami kills Nagito Komaeda (Same Circumstance, but have Chiaki maybe be a bit more vague about her AI origins and perhaps delve more into the Ultimate Impostor reveal)
Survivors: Hajime Hinata, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu, Kazuichi Soda, Hiyoko Saionji, and Akane Owari
(Why?

As for Kazuichi, he'd be coming to terms with Sonia not being this fantasy caricature that he pictured her to be, but rather just another human being just like everyone else, something that Gundham recognized her as, which would force him to acknowledge that Gundham really was the better match for her.
omg someone else thinks the same about chiaki as me.... she was such a waste of character esp with how important she is to the plot. shame they made her so boring and the fact we’re supposed to care with hajime about her death to that degree really took me out lol.
edit: i know a lot of people r mentioning the anime as her saving grace, but honestly for me it made her and everyone else’s character worse. the fact izuru only put the junko ai in the neo world program cause he wanted to see chiaki again is soooooo bad cause he’s literally supposed to be emotionless and the forced in hinanami moments made all the other characters seem like one off jokes. plus the fact i really dislike munakata and chisa and rlly overall dr3 made me come out the series a little deflated 😨
same actually but i kinda liked her a little bit more because of the anime
Honestly I think it would’ve been perfect if she just got some more character development.

@@mirathouartthou4835 one thing chapter 3has is that it destroys character development

I also would‘ve liked to know more about Angie and have her around a little bit more for the conflict.
I wish this was the real version because I would love to have Hiyoko as a survivor.👘👸🧡
Finally people are speaking out on how Hiyoko should have lived, she’s literally my favourite character

@@lolvioletcore I mean I like max so i guess shes a bad character too

But Fuyuhiko was the only one to notice Pekos older-looking body in chapter 6 + it would make the „picture of grown Hiyoko“ scene weird.
@@DerpyHiro That's a fair assessment, I guess. Glad ya like my idea though!

@zick yeah.
I mean Hyoko got Fuyohiko to almost kill himself. That would be an interesting dynamic
@@cosmicspacething3474 yeah that’s what I’m thinking it’ll give her more development
The twilight sindrome murder case was a tragedy with a lot of gray actions comming from both sides of this story, and making Hiyoko and Fuyuhiko surviving could
represent and create something inspiring. But that's my point of view.

Reasons:

I think ibuki had to survive because yeah its ibuki🥺
Hajime is literally the plot point,
Baby gangsta (fuyuhiko) is cute and his relationship with peko was also good story arc
Sonia is just flat out hilarious
And Akane is.... there, not that relevant but eh.

Heres what i would do:
Keep Chapter 1&2 the same Except Nekomaru gets injured in Chapter 1 and Comes back in Chapter 3
Chapter 3: Change the motive from the dispear disease to a raffle which Monokuma does - Mikan wins the raffle but the prize is just a crappy Monokuma toy.
Chapter 4:
I think making Gundham kill Sonia in Chapter 4 is a bad idea as it would make Gundham a lot less sympathetic.
@@DerpyHiro I would change Chiaki from being an AI to being Junko's successor

@AnimePerson but it makes sense tho she is so nice that wouldn't she be an easy target for remnant of despair mikan to just kill her like it wouldn't make sense for mikan to kill sonia since she's one of the nicest people therefore it would remove suspicion from her
I can’t see gundham killing sonia, but let’s say in chapter 4 an accident happened when a certain body drops
The thing is in every danganronpa game the third case is always the double murder and the forth is when the strongest character usually dies
I would’ve made it to where Sonia died instead of Kyoko or Ibuki. If you replace Kyoko just swap which survivor tells the other about the mirror in the Music Venue, and then if it’s to swap Ibuki just give Sonia the Despair disease

I should have been a Surviver in V3

idk if gundham killing sonia makes sense since its heavily implied their fight was both a sacrifice on both their parts. that they fought to sacrifice for the rest. perhaps sonia died in chapter 3 as she would try to get the mirror for hiyoko. that would give hiyoko development too as she would blame herself for sonia's death
I think that they should kill Sonia (to make more character development for Kazuichi) or Fuyuhiko in the place of Hiyoko in Chapter 3.
If I needed to bring back Teruteru just to get Mikan to survive I would. M I K A N I S B A E
