I've got a microsquirt on my fox and I found it works well just setting up your AFR table then let tunerstudio auto tune the actual fuel map to hit your desired AFR. Get those set and go do some varied driving and it should correct itself quite a bit.
As some one who does work on Cummins....this guy helps alot. I do Chevy and diesel work, yet I come to this channel regularly to guide me. Brew2l is truth!
I have some nice EFI hardware but I'm gonna live the carb life a while longer. It's just been too good to me and seeing these vids makes me realize how good I have it. Especially since some guys on RUclips talk about how they have 20 hours or more in tuning. I'll stay tuned!

I'm planning on replacing my head gaskets and swapping over to the 93 cobra heads and intake manifolds I picked up years back. I'm going to try using megasquirt to troubleshoot some tuning issues the stock ECU has. It already throws a check engine light but nobody has been able to figure out why including a Ford dealer. It's been running on the backup internal fuel map which works but it knocks a little unless I'm running 93 octane and it's in the winter.
Watched this video but my megasquirt was the V2.1. Car fired right up but ran a little rough in the beginning. Smoothed out after 2-3 minutes of idling. Drove it around the neighborhood and let it learn and man it runs like a champ now. Any idiot can do this. I say this because I’ve never done anything like this before
MSPnP is a nice tuning toy ..i love mine ..and there is tons of Help out there in the net..it really helps to spend a some $$ more for the Registered version of Tuner Studio (70$ or so) Auto tune and unlimited Data logs will help a lot for tuning
Looks good! You should be able to select multiple cells and increase or decrease by %. I just got the Holley installed on my fox bit of a learning curve getting into it
I'm very interested in this system, I won't have to convert to MAF from SD if I chose this route. It also seems one could tune a H/C/I combo, on a SD Fox using this system. I'm tuning in B, looking forward to results 👍
You could definitely use this and tune a hci combo that is speed density. I’d like to go on record and say MAF sux from a tuner standpoint, it more an accuracy thing for oems... fox body guys get screwed into thinking they need a MAF because since 88 you couldn’t cam your car if it was SD. Rarely do you see a Stand-alone that someone decided to go MAF over SD.
Glad it’s running. Is there some sort of auto tune mode it can go into using the data from the wide band? Seems like that would at least get it into a ball park to start from.
About to ms2 and TFI dist on a 5.0 that I’m doing a 750 blow thru e85 no ic... I do aem, hp tuners, I even have an old skool neo afc in my Supra, as well as carbs... Achieve target afr suited for you engine in it operating range, use some method of measuring torque while adjusting the ignition timing continue to add timing while gaining power when you don’t gain any from timing go back and pull a degree. Keep an eye on the afrs while adjusting timing.
Forgot most important tip for ignition timing go slow big bumps in trouble areas are ok to start with. The closer you get the less you give it at the end you would be adding just 1 maybe 2 degrees at a time
Thats a nice setup! So with the built in map sensor can you eliminate the mass air meter? And its ok to be in the high 14.xx or 15,xx afr range at idle.

Microsquirt work really well with the eeciv fords, i run one on my 2.3 turbo swapped ranger. Only thing that was needed is high impedance injectors over the factory turbos low
@@stevenmcc2119 crazy I posted this almost a year ago, I bought the megasquirt pnp2 for my mustang and took it to multiple shops to have it tuned and have been run around spending tons of cash to get it dialed in and still never got it right. I finally got fed up with inconsistent cold starts and swinging idles and pulled the megasquirt out along with the entire engine harness, I purchased a Holley terminator x for my foxbody that came with the full engine harness. Installed all of it my self and tucked the harness to look better than factory. Hit a few buttons on the handheld that it comes with and made some software changes, now this car runs like a top and idles perfect, cold starts perfect. I should have done more research about the Holley before chosing megasquirt. Holley EFI is alot more basic and alot easier to setup as is also self tunes during open and closed loop all the time. On my first start up with the Holley I didn't even have to do anything else other than drive it home and it was already dialed in perfectly. Megasquirt is good but also very complex for a beginner tuner over the Holley.

Does anyone know where to get the silver connector for this MS2 that goes to the AFR gauge & the adapter from the white cable to make it usb to be able to connect it to the laptop & to the MS2 I bought a car with this standalone in the car allready i didn’t buy it new , and it’s barely idling. I have a MSPNP2 on my 93 Cobra. For the life of me it will not communicate to my laptop or phone. It is able to be seen by both but will not communicate. Tuner studios was no help nor me sending it back to be checked. It was sent back to me and still doing the same thing which would tell me the issue is on my end but have no idea where to go with this. Any help would be great!
I think you’d be better off setting your base timing at 10 and letting the computer do the timing you want. That way your injector timing isn’t off from turning the distributor. I don’t think wot power would be much different but you’d be able to fine tune it better.
Great vid as always. I was on the fence about getting the MS, Kinda confused though. I have talked with 2 different tuners and both stated that they would prefer to tune my Fox with it's stock PCM with my build, which is alum heads, cam, intakes and exhaust. Have a friend that has the quarter horse on his ponies and he tunes himself. So I ordered the chip for $75 and he's gonna tune it to what he can. However, yesterday I took mine out and the T5 decided it was done. Got it home, but now we are going to remove it this weekend to inspect to make sure it's not a clutch fork issue. If it isn't my Mega Squirt money now will be invested into a WC - T5 . What's your thought about what I'm being told by the tuners, by the way, both are well respected in the Mustang community with actual shops?

Very Cool. I played with tuning diesels back about 15 years ago and it was very in depth and could easily screw up the engine.

Yes, but the idle is best tuned to your liking for the most part. The base map is usually close enough to get it running.
