  • This is a 2011 (or 2012 I believe) Cub Cadet Z-Force S zero turn, 48 inch deck. I broke the deck belt, so I took the opportunity to replace the drive belt. I struggle with the drive belt so I wanted a record for next time.
I give myself a mild finger cut at 24:23, so if you don't like blood, skip forward to 24:30 to avoid that scene. I put text in the video to warn that it is coming up.
Background music is from www.bensound.com. Hope it is not too annoying. Camera work is a little off at times -- but I was filming as I was doing the work.
Took me about 5.5 hours. Might go quicker if I had a corded impact wrench. Maybe next time.

The pulley above the clutch that you had a problem with getting the belt around, that pulley just slides off the end of the crankshaft so you can put the belt on then slide the pulley back on the crank. Mine I can easily slide on and off just using my hands.

This was really helpful thanks so much, handbook tells you how to do deck belt and it’s pretty simple - this one not so much!!

Looks like my drive pulley is supposed to come off, but they will often rust on so bad they are difficult to get off. Yikes.

Maybe I should try a pulley puller next time. www.amazon.com/Mofeez-inch-3-Jaw-Gear-Puller/dp/B07C9MRC7N/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=pulley+puller&qid=1622741714&sr=8-2

you just need stronger impack . take the spring loose on idler pulley.

Agree -- springs used to scare me -- can be hard to get back on.

@terrybraun7631 Ryobi 1/2 impact. Got my magnetic clutch bolt off but it won't come off like yours did.

To remove the old belt you could, oh I don’t know, just cut the belt.

Agreed. But its also nice to compare the old belt to the new belt as another check that you have the correct size.
