    Hopefully people see this and it sinks in that $3500-4000 is an ENTRY level pricetag for turbocharging these cars. Nicely done video!

      $3500 to 4000 entry is overstated....more like $4500 to $5000. Most get hosed with the aftermarket ECU when they want to turn it up.

    this is a cool video man with a lot of good information packed into a short time.
    i am trying to get a lexus sportcross atm, and would love to only spend about $3500 on the turbo parts and management, I understand it will take some patience. i have to save some money left over though for the manual swap down the road.

      Yeah manual swaps are insanely over these days! I will say that 3500-4000 is the ABSOLUTE bottom line to boost these cars so expect to be closer to $5k as prices tend to rise slowly. Good luck and thanks for watching the video! Hope you decide to stick around for the long run!

    Earned ya self a sub dude. This series definitely gave me a reality check on wanting to boost my W58 Swapped Is300 haha. Insane work though!

      Hey thanks for taking your time to watch the videos bro! I am wanting to manual swap this car too but everyone wants a million dollars for these hella old gearboxes!
      Yeah boosting these cars (or any car for that matter) is quite a bit of work and money. I am definitely at the very bottom end of how much to spend. Realistically I would budget at least $5k-$6K

      @@Knownworldwide Yeah man I would transmissions are a little hard to source right now luckily in texas they're avaliable time to time, I would consider going R154 brand new from drift motion for your current setup if you you do follow through with it, I know the A650E holds up pretty well low boost, getting a brand new R154 for around 3.1-3.2k is honestly a crazy deal, if you're on a tight budget I would try sourcing a W58 Mk3 SUpra those can handle around 300-350 whp safely.

      The Borg comes in many different flavors. You would need to make sure you have a 3” v band exhaust housing and a compressor housing with a 2.5” outlet.
      I haven’t personally test fit one but if I recall, those Borgs tend to have thick compressor housings so you may need to trim a couple of the turbo manifold studs (studs in the cylinder head) to clear the compressor housing.

    Im running a similar setup right now about to do an r154 swap the dual ball bearing cx turbo has lasted me a while though

      Awesome! Wish I could say the same for my CX turbo. It failed after about 180 miles of driving. How long has your kit been on your car?

      @@Knownworldwide for about 5 months of on and off driving I’m running 5 psi stock Ecu stock internals so knock on wood it lasts a little longer before I get a name brand turbo

    Is the catch can configuration basically the evap system you've configured? Did you rip out the OEM catch can under the intake?

      Not sure I follow what you’re talking about. The EVAP system is definitely completely different than a PCV system.
      My EVAP system is still intact. My catch can is tucked over near the brake master cylinder. If you check out the channel, I made a video on my catch can setup.

      I’m running the 5.5psi spring I think it is the bigger red one. Could be 5.1psi.
      I have a stock exhaust though so it opens well before even hitting 5psi. If I get into the top of 3rd it will hit about 4.5psi. If you have an aftermarket exhaust it should maintain 5psi pretty well.

    Stock is300 has 217hp bro. I like your set up. I need to upgrade and I want to get at least 100hp more with stuck auto trams.

      A stock auto IS300 makes around 168-170wheel. If you are making around 245-250ish wheel. You will be making over 315 crank.

      No brother. It's 215hp and 218 torque! Auto trams. I tuned my is with rebuilded engine, intercooler independent mishimoto and ECU chip. With less weight. Pushing 290hp.

      @djchris8520 217hp is crank HP. Like every other brochure in the world. I am not disputing that information. I just prefer to call it like it is with any car. I like to quote what the car actually puts down to the pavement and not what the brochure says.

    Can this pass CA SMOG? I’m thinking boosting mine 2001 IS300. I recently have the original 2JZ-GE engine replaced with a 40k miles Japanese import 2JZ-GE.

      Working great! No more smoking or oil leaks at all. The CX turbo just isn’t designed well enough to get the oil drain oriented correctly. It also just flat out failed on me so 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Have you ever heard of a AEM FIC that’s specific to a car?

      No, they are all piggy back universal setups.

      @@BongoisaPyro oh that is probably an AEM EMS. This I am using is an AEM FIC (fuel/ignition controller) the other is a “engine management system” completely different product lines.

      @@BongoisaPyro I looked it up. Apparently that is made specifically for the S2000. If there is one for the IS300 that would be news to me. They are very old so I don’t know everything about them. I know the FIC-6 I have is universal so it will work on any 6 cylinder car.
      My apologies for telling you no above bro. I know they don’t make them anymore so maybe at the time they were making them they offered vehicle specific units?

      I assume you mean boost controller?
      If so you can use a manual boost controller if you would like. Electronic boost control solenoids are more consistent but not absolute necessary.

      Basically, if you are running the CX kit, you will be restricted to utilizing the same 3” v-band exhaust housings and the same compressor outlet sizes.

      @@abransanchez7176 if you are using the same size turbo I am with a proper 3” exhaust should be around
      370-380 wheel with a manual
      With an auto maybe around 350wheel.
      Of course every dyno is going to read differently so what I say isn’t set in stone.

      Should fit. I wouldn’t recommend getting a very big back housing though as that might mess with the Downpipe fitment.

      Well what turbo is it you’re getting? As a large compressor housing can cause problems with trying to fit the 90 degree coupler off the outlet as well as come into contact with the exhaust manifold stud that is right in front of it (middle of the head studs)
      Are your shooting for a certain power number?
