- What's up lil unicorns! I wanted to show you my favorite tips for bleaching my locs! Keep in mind that I am NOT a stylist and these tips are just my personal opinion, not to be taken as professional advice. I hope you love it! :)

1. Buy enough product
2. Get Bleach with blue or purple tint, have toner on hand
3. Learn hot spots of your hair
4. Don’t use all of it at once you can fix missed spots with it later
5. Do not bleach baby hairs first
6. Do not go too light too soon
7. Don’t wait too long in between retouches
8. Protect your skin
9. Make sure you wear clothes that you do not care for
10. Be very protective of your bleaching area in your home

I do my hair myself bc I’m scared of other hands in my head. I may get a protective style done by someone else here and there but 98% of the time I’m the one doing my hair lol

I’m with you I’ve had mine for 30 yrs been in a shop twice for birthday gifts from my kids, but I do it my self along with coloring, I’m afraid to let anyone else to do my hair

Hey sis! I love your locs and content. I just wanted to say that when you grow your locs, foundation is everything! I watched the detailed video on how you color and minimize damage. Love it! As you're journeying, be mindful to show extra love to your set that will create the foundation, the new growth will create the girth. You won't see the affect of what you do until 3-4 years down the line as your locs mature. Hope this helps! Thanks for sharing 💚

I definitely do my hair myself. I've always have colored my own hair before locking. I've been kind of intimidated for doing my locks myself but now I'm doing a girl let's wish for the best. 🦄
This is me right now. 16months, I've always dyed my own except teen years (beautician). BUT with the locs I've been a little more scared. I let my loctician color today (put my blonde back) I felt like I could've done it myself.
🦄. I’ll do my hair myself when it comes to color. In the past I haven’t had good experiences to wear my hair turned out the way I wanted it to. By doing my own here, I ffigure that if I mess up I can only blame myself.

I was looking for tutorials but saw your video clip because you are gourgeoussss! What is that you’re using to style your hair up like that?
on the pricier end for those interested blonde solutions is (personal opinion) one of the most lovely brands, but on the less expensive end... the blue she mentions in the video also works very well! theres a few brands but (personally again) the blue clairol professionals kaleidocolors bleach with the same brand of pure white developer is impressive. for those interested in more natural products or sensitive to the body products i have heard that olyplex (not 100% if i spelled that right) from clairol is supposed to be less damaging of all developers and (not sure if its true either) supposedly is more natural of products?? id research that first and there may be more options out there. make sure to double check ingredients between products

I can’t afford to go to Loctitian at this time so I’ll be giving it a go my self. Last week I try LOreal Hi color with developer and only my roots took. I’m going to try bleaching to get the look I want now. 🦄

🎠(I don't have a unicorn emoji).. I go to a loctician still but I'm only 10 months into my sisterlock journey. Lately I've been considering switching to traditional for the size & convenience. And I want color SO badly... I wouldn't dare try it on my own though.

I do my hair myself but its to long n I get to tired so my stylist is my cousin God bless her heart because I'm over it. Thanks for the tips, I was red to blonde now going a lil darker with eggplant and magenta got a 30 developer so fingers 🤞🏽i will drop a pic when I'm done. Love that style. My dreads are a little thinner than urs so they pop a lot...not from the root God no...just the ends. So annoying but I won't go back to relax or natural hair...I'll rather go bald lol 🦄 🦄 🦄
🦄 I bleached my own hair when I wore a buzz cut. My locs are now shoulder length, sides and back usually shaved and roots colored 1b to cover the gray.. but with covid19 still looming , I haven't gone to a barbershop in 6 months, lots of headwraps and cute hats! Lol
