The fact that people are defending this game is the main reason why modern gaming is the way it is. Like during the PS3/Xbox 360, and even PS2/Xbox eras, there were nearly a lot of games that were straight up garbage. The games looks like the devs actually cared about it and also their consumers. Now devs just give us anything, even if it’s half baked because they know at the end of the day there will be people that will just buy it and support them.
100% the Anthem, Fallout 76, and Suicide Squad gamers are literally ruining gaming for the normies. Because of them companies are not afraid enough to release garbage.

Can't believe that I agree with this. Soon after Arkham Knight, I was part of the crowd which desperately wanted them to do a Batman Arkham Beyond game. Now? I don't want to hear about them working on a new game for many many years. At the very least, they have a lot of good will to grind back.

Why do half the cutscenes not have any music in the background?? It makes most of the game feel slow and awkwardly paced when their conversations don't have anything to flow with and it makes it a lot harder to build suspense or elicit any other feelings
Thanks for everything you do to keep us updated Luke! I actually got Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League in physical, played it and sold it for $40. So I paid $30 for it basically which is fine for me.

So, i actually went back and watched your video on Marvel's Avengers, the Crystal Dynamics game that eventually got shut down, and i did notice that the character's movesets felt a bit moe distinct, if a bit repetitive still. At least you kind of felt like the Hulk or Ironman, etc. No matter who you play in Kill the Justice league, it mostly feels the same because of the third person shooting and the heavily reliance on mediocre gear...
Yeah, I'm guessing Hulk, Thor and Captain America weren't using guns with freezing bonus damage in their fights, too. ^^

Call of duty has 20-40 dollar skins. Rockstar game has a $100 dollar shark card. Madden is awful also… keep in mind even Arkham Knight in 2015 had cosmetic micro transactions and that was before Fortnite

Yeah and as someone who's on WowHead (the fansite that also covers news about D4), it's insane to see how often they release new paid cosmetics for each class. It's crazy to see how the once soloable RPG game turned into some kind of MMO-RPG hybrid even more predatory than World of Warcraft.

About the head exploding and the teeth around 21:40 actually the head if hydrated properly is at a fairly high psi and will "pop" easily with little force. So you may be right but also theirs is possible too. On the other hand they had a revolver drop a shell sooooooooo they had no idea about the psi part. @lukestephens

Boring gameplay loop aside: they shit on arkhamverse batman. How did the guy that took out his own Roguesgallary in a single night (multiple times) get beaten by these nobodies. He even got more effective by using scarcrows toxin and losing his no killing rule. so how? And he killed Robin. Just like that. So all the previous games dont really matter since:
1. Robin is dead so saving him in Knight didnt matter
2. Batman died while being an agent of evil
3. The only line of defense for the earth is the suicide squad. So basically a bunch of nobodies without any real power
They could have just made the game its own thing. But no they HAD to make it into a Arkhamverse game so that they would have BRANDRECOGNITION
well, I think he has to deal with all the MultiVersus in the whole plant at brainiac went to take over so there might have been some heroes from those other dimensional Multiverse that's my theory brought into this universe

They had the best superhero games ever made, and they chose to ruin the entire story, the characters, the universe they built. All this to pander to a so called "modern audience" we never truly see or hear. It's actually sad, because growing up with those games I was waiting to see what would be the next chapter, so imagine my surprise. (At the same time, when you look at modern entertainment it just makes sense, still sad though)

The only way this game might become successful is if they completely abandon story after that add 6 or more characters and convert the whole game into pvp with many game modes , they can add more characters through seasons and add new and fun game modes and maybe add pve raids.

Maybe the 9 years of development was bc of all the content they have finished ready 2 go for future seasons. Rocksteady has a plan, and only time will tell.
They announced raids and PvP was coming to the game and the game will have at least 4 seasons of content.
As far as I'm concerned, they could salvage things a little bit by disavowing the link between this game and the Arkhamverse.
They'd have to say _"No actually, this never was the Arkhamverse, just a universe very similar, but the real Arkhamverse is there somewhere, untouched by Brainiac, where the Arkham Batman is still kicking butts in Gotham under his new Nightmare-Batman persona"._

The Devs who made Batman, made the combat... that looks to be the only control they had of the game, everything else wreaks of special interest, commitees, and business analytics targeting whales.

I've just now noticed HOW MANY GOD DAMN TIMES characters say "[my name] out!" to sound cool (like "Waller out." when stabbing Brainiac with the data-spike)... the terrible writing of this game makes me cringe so hard. I've heard Waller say it at least 3 times, Gizmo once, I'm sure there are more. Feels like a writer thought it was legitimately a cool thing to say. Like when you have this character who slowly say "Name's Bob the Builder." like a cowboy to sound cool.

Here is why it wouldn’t make sense to give a free game to a newly reviewer. It’s just like a normal job you have prove that you are reliable enough and good enough to get enough views and revenue so the company gets its money back plus some. Even if it is a bad review getting noticed is good or bad press is good press

I’m ngl this is one of those games where if ur not good at the gameplay or ur watching someone’s review who’s not good it’s gonna be extremely boring. But I have yet to feel this much adrenaline from zooming around in any other game recently. Even while vibing to music sometimes it’s mad fun. It’s not for everyone and the writing of the story goes off the deep end but after the story it gets even more hectic and it’s dumb fun. If ur not a fight hordes of enemies type of person then that’s up to u but sum like this is no diff from mindlessly shooting zombies to me. If anything it’s more engaging. People hear live service nowadays and have a fit forgetting that most games are live service from sports games to other shooters like apex and cod. This game is close to a game like destiny which is super live service story based. Doesn’t always mean a bad thing. And it’s very easy to watch someone playing a game in a mid way and say wow that looks shitty. Movement in this game is peak. I’m almost never touching the ground with every character. They all feel unique and different and fun down to their cores especially when u start building their skills out and branching playstyles which I’ve heard no reviews mention. Two of my friends felt the same way the rest of the internet felt until I convinced them to come over and try it to see for themselves and now they addicted. They also have rlly no connection to super heroes so the story not bothering them as much. They just love the gameplay and tht honestly is the best part bout the game. Even Jake from gameranx was calling the gameplay Alr but in his video he’s walking around on the ground aiming down sights with everyone for the entire thing. U gotta embrace the chaos and if chaos ain’t ur cup of tea this game sure ain’t for u.
I couldn’t gave said it better. I still prefer the Arkham games. All the reviews off this, the gameplays being played by someone with no thumbs. You can do some really cool stuff in this game combining the traversal and combat. Traversal is A1. I only dislike Harley’s.

This game is really not that bad. It’s not amazing, but it’s not the worst game ever made either. I feel like a like of the negativity has gotten out of hand at this point.
In what fucking world does a game need to be the worst thing ever for people to be able to shit on it. Yeah, it's not amazing. Nor is it excellent. Or great. Or good. Or even passable. It is, at best, still a boring video game that is perhaps one of the worst entries of the looter shooter genre to ever be made. 9 years of development for something this mediocre from a studio that used to be known for making gold is a fucking travesty. If you like the game, fine. Continue to play it. But don't come out here trying to police people who think it is a piece of shit game.

This game was setup for failure by the media, reviewers etc not even wanting to give it a fair chance, and instead nitpicking "oh i don't like this aspect", i don't like the traversal, i don't like the shooting, i don't like the length etc etc...well let me ask you this then: If 9 hours is too short, then how come COD gets away with a 4hour long campaign???....People are hypocrites, and personally, i love this game, cause i take it as it is face value. Its reality vs expectations!!!

This is not new gameplay footage, it's a 'supercut' of the Early Access livestream. Luke did mention revisiting the game when Season 1 launches to see what it brings to the table.

I think that kind of the issue. As an example in comic book the 1st issue almost always sells the best. With less issues being bought over the previous issues consistently until the finale book where purchases come back to see the end. So basically people get bored or don't have the patience to wait for the full story. So this game will likely be pretty popular once all the content comes out. But if they need the game to do well UNTIL the end for it to actual release all the content I don't think we will ever get there. There is a good chance we never see the end of the storyline. I want to see it I just don't know if we ever will.
None of that changes the fact that this is just not a good game.
