Thank you very much! Unfortunately my personal modelling time is now very limited due to work, hope to get back to it someday. Glad that you enjoyed my work. Cheers! Kaustav
Haha - my wife keeps the entertainment factor alive in what otherwise is a pretty boooooring video! Realism is all about layers and moderation and as my wife mentioned it a couple of times, I am still not 'there yet' apparently! She's an artist, she keeps me on my toes.
What do you mean? How do you know her? What did she do? :) The funny part is that most of those commentaries are true - either while making the model or while editing the video.
Yeah yeah, of course she is! She tried stealing my show for the Episode 3 premier too as you can find out in the live chat. I'm glad that you liked it. Believe it or not, her commentary was actually real. I was doing the voice over and she kept adding her thoughts during the takes sitting behind me. That's when it hit me that it would be bl**dy hilarious if my audience could hear her as well! Cheers! Kaustav
Yes. There are two uses of varnish - one is to give you the required finish (gloss vs. matt, for an example), second is to protect the surface during handling. I can recommend Testors spray lacquer as a first step as it is easy to use. Hope this helps. :)

I love your wife's color commentary! The paint work is excellent, too. You've packed a lot of layers into such a relatively tiny area. Gorgeous!

Very effective weathering Kaustav! It looks like that barge has seen many years of hard work. Best, John
Thank you John, I'm glad that you liked it. It was quite an endeavour.

Excellent video! Good techniques. I will try it on my Clyde Puffer, ( after I build it). Many thanks. David U.K.
Your wife adds the comic relief to your very serious tutorials. Great job. Later.

He means, Thank you for recognising her wit!
frostina2k , thanks for the translation, but I am used to dry humor. My dad was British. 😀

I have weathered my railway box car with acrylic paint, do i have to overcoat with varnish or not . It is the varnish i seem to struggle with ?
Yes. There are two uses of varnish - one is to give you the required finish (gloss vs. matt, for an example), second is to protect the surface during handling. I can recommend Testors spray lacquer as a first step as it is easy to use. Hope this helps. :)
@@TrainsandDioramas Thanks , i will order some.
My Testors spray came today, very impressed with results , ended up doing 3 boxcars and a loco. Thanks for tip.
I’m glad that it worked out for you! Happy model making. :)

Google translate tells me that you're asking for a price (apologies if that's not the case). Not for sale, sorry.
