Beautiful work! On the subject of the tires: I don't think the small gaps between the rubber and rims hurt the effect. Quite the opposite actually. Big trucks like these don't actually have an inner tube in the tires, so the rubber is held on using the pressure of the tires. When tires like this deflate and that pressure is no longer there, they come loose from the rim. Add some age into the mix and you often see these gaps appear, especially around the top half of the rims.
I agree, the build looks amazing...perfect weathering.
BillBard ,about the tyres, you're absolutely right.
Actually the large trucks I worked with did have inner tubes and gators (a thick rubber ring), the assembly was held on the hub with a split ring. On deflation the seal between the hub and the tyre would look just as you have depicted it in the model.
i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know of a method to log back into an instagram account?
I was dumb forgot my password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Heath Gustavo instablaster :)
Really good job on the Gaz truck. Showed it to a friend who thought that it was a real vehicle. Thanks for the lesson.
This is a really well produced and edited' how-to' video. Thank you for making this
Very well done both in presentation and information given. Masterclass level all round.
That came out looking really awesome! I can almost see this in a diorama! Old fence and some tall grass! Bravo on the build because it came out great.
A superb job, such patience and excellent technique, inspirational!
You are just a great artist!!!...... thank you. 💙 from 🇬🇷
Amazing work. Thanks for sharing!
The end result is fantasic, tires included. Great having you back doing more videos.
Awesome work , great style , cool rust colored blends . Done right .
This is exactly what I have been looking for, great technique.....many thanks...
Stunning mate
Thanks for this, very informative
Fantastic result 👍
I haven't clicked on a video this fast in a long time. I always learn something new from your videos.
Awesome job!
It looks so amazing I really need to give this ago. Thanks..
Great stuff! Definitely going to my favorites file!
Great! One of the best videos on rust techniques never seen! thank you very much ;)
Great to see you back mate, you show the technique so clear, really easy to follow. Excellent
Wonderful work mate. Great effects using acrylics. I will definately try it! Thank you. On the tires, i think that your result is actually more accurate given the scenario. Really old and neglected tires on trucks tend not to be flush to the rim as the rubber gets dry and crack. This also because the airpressure is gone, which normally would keep them in place. Cheers and thanks for sharing! 👍
Fantastic work! I love the weathering!
Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing your skills. Also it is good to see you back at these types of videos. I still reference your half track build from a few years ago.
Great to see you back making videos! Keep them coming
Masterpiece!
Absolutely awesome thanks for your time and helpful tips, learned alot can wait to try . Funny about the tires maybe glue rims in first might have taken longer as not to warp the rims just a thought again brilliant build will watch a couple times more cheers.
The end result is outstanding. As much as I think I know about model building, there is always something new to learn. This video has taught me many new tips and techniques. Much obliged.
Icely done! Great tips!
Its crazy how far things have come. I just watched the Panzer tank muffler video awhile ago and now this. So much better now.
This could not have come at a better time :) Just as I am stepping back into the world of armour. Great to see the master at work again mate - Ivan
Northern Modeller cheers Ivan
Looks Amazing!
Looks awesome!
Excellent job on it. Keep 'em coming.
Terrific video. Incredible work and very informative. Amazing build. Thanks for sharing the techniques.
Really good looking effects. I think the tyres look natural, as without air pressure behind them they'd come away from the rim anyway. Good to see you back...
Looks fantastic....beautiful work!
Yes. New video!!! Thanks
No words! 😳😳😳 stunning work...
Great work! A helluva lot of work (especially compared to enamels) but amazing results! Well explained and to the point. Thanks.
yes, I think so, he does it really well. yes, I think so, he does it really well. I'm looking forward to how it continues!!👍✌
Excellent. Thank you for sharing.
Nice job. Weathering has always been a mystery to me. You made that look great!
Very well done! In my opinion the gap between the wheel rim and tire looks appropriate and isn't distracting in the least.
Thank you for sharing.
Lovely job, loads to reference. And as I’m about to paint a Stug IV interior the perfect mojovator.
Superb job!
That’s cool I need to strip down and paint up my RC version 👍
Wow your attention to detail is amazing, way over my head. This is not a critsizm.
Thanks, it may seem over your head but this technique of painting into wet is so easy it just takes a bit of practise. Give it a shot!
wow. incredible !
Love it!! Beautiful work!! 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻
Thanks for the flat tire trick.
I love how these instructions are given so nonchalantly for you! I can never get results like this no matter how hard I try. This thing is like museum quality weathering. I’m so impressed by this job I’m saving your video for future reference. Bravo my friend!
Well thanks, its easy to be nonchalant when doing the voice overs lol the hard bit is already done. I'm pretty sure there was plenty of swearing and holding my breath along the way, especially in all acrylics which can't be wiped off with a bit of thinner. I'm not a pro I'm just a guy who makes free videos so don't be daunted just have a go and you'll see it's easier than you think
Looks fantastic! Keep it up!
Brilliant!!
beautiful work!
very very nice mate! thx a lot
Awesome work!! Very impressive!
Wow. That’s unbelievable mate
Amazing, please produce more videos, you are one of the best modelers I have ever seen! Overcome even Mig Jimenez.
Great video Jon nice to see you back nice subject well executed 👍
Very nice weathering job. The detail is really nice.
Excellent!
well done really enjoyed it
Lovely job! Nice to see an acrylic only weathering video as that is all i use too. Good techniques and thanks for sharing them
Dave Lloyd it was a challenge but the wet on wet technique is now one of my favourite methods. I had hoped there would be acrylic fans who enjoyed this one so thanks for commenting
ScaleModelMedic Credit where it is due I think. I like the tap water layer before applying filters etc. great idea. Do you make your own wet palette?
Wonderful Techniques!! Thanks. Will be weathering an RC Ural and these will be very effective concepts
Beautiful work!!
Thank you!
fantastic
Great tips!
Masterful work. Thanks for sharing. ;)
wow !!! amazing . a true artist
One of your best Jon really beautifully put together and as for the tyres they would have come away from the rims just like that because they are commercial vehicle wheels, so for me they look very authentic.
Clive Cro thanks glad you enjoyed it
Very helpful tips
Thx!!!
yes, I think so, he does it really well👍✌
Stellar job, and great video editing! How To execution nicely done.
bravo, nicely done
Great stuff! I will need to try this water technique, you make it look so easy, I hope it will help ;D
Excellent
Nice work of art
Superb work.
yes, I think so, he does great work very professional👍✌
How have I not come across your channel before!? New Sub!
Great tutorial ! Obrigado ;)
looks good to me willl see more if posted
Masterful
That is some very nice work :D
круто! Skill capped!
Awesome work👌 great vid👍
very good work in the details and painting, I love it, I will follow you to see your next videos. Regards my friend
Just read the comment below about the tires, and when you presented the built model at the end, the tires look exactly as a large tire would do. The bead of the tires would loosen off of the rim. Great model.
wow very good work, nice video keep it up👍✌
He's back! Nice work Jon
Dale Luckhurst wow hello Dale long time no speak, hope youre keeping well mate
ScaleModelMedic I’m all good thanks Jon. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. 👍🏻
Just found your channel, beautiful work! Gave me some inspiration for a Stryker I’m working on for my channel!
Glad you could take something away from my video, and thanks for taking time to comment!
This could be real helpful. Thanks for noticing this to me!
Good luck with your project!
@@ScaleModelMedic thanks!
@@ScaleModelMedic wil have to buy more colors now, haha 😂
@@ElDimitrius I used ak in this video but life colour rust set is very good, I use it in my most recent video
great work mate i actually like the tires separated from the rim it makes the beed look broken if its been siting there that long its more realistic if any thing i think the tires look to clean compared from the rest of the model thats just my opinion, outstanding work
If you add a little tiny drop of washing up liquid to the water it reduces surface tension and helps the acrylics stop pooling
Great work using Acylics
so cool!!!
I try to make it like this, but it's not easy..
Wow,subded.
I think the tires look fine. When a tire loses its air, the bead often comes loose and there is a gap between the tire and rim. Your model looks totally normal.
I am building a Flak 40 Zwilling from Takon, it would be good to see how you would paint such cannon.
Apologies for the audio on this one guys, it gradually gets quieter through the video. Not sure what went wrong. I hope it doesn't detract from the viewing too much
Great video and the sound was ok.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Вау! крутой ГАЗ66 получился!
It's quite common for flat tires to separate from the wheel hubs. So I don't think the gaps on your wheels are unrealistic at all.
Класс!!!
