I am so happy to hear that Texas is supporting Elon in his approach.
Texas has been happy to have SpaceX hire so many people, buy so much land and build so much infrastructure for all kinds of reasons, realizing how Elon and his team have transformed rocketry and made space travel attainable at much lower costs. The payoff down the road could dwarf the efforts of NASA and other government sponsored rocket programs when the profits start pouring in from Starlink, not to mention space tourism, moon colonization and helium-3 extraction from the moon and its use in fusion reactors both on the moon and back on earth. Launching earth-orbiting satellites electrostatically from the moon would cost much less than blasting satellites into earth orbit from the earth, and could be powered by solar collectors. I'm concerned about the lack of blast protection for the GSE tank farm, though, especially the LOX and liquid methane tanks, which do not appear protected from that blast as the booster lifts off.
Texas has a very simple approach o regulations. Money talks, Bullshit walks. In Mexico, we call that "Mordíta" Some call that "conservative."
Space has become so close to us. When I was a kid, only governments and government organizations could send people to space. Not anymore! I wonder what it will be like for my kids generations.

I live in Houston and visited Boca Chica last week. I was on a dolphin watch boat when they were running the wet dress rehersal on the starship. It was so cool to see with all the frost. Also, walking up and down the empty beach just viewing this huge spaceship and getting so close to it was awesome. Its such a neat area, and I'm sure as time passes it will get built up more and more. I'm going to enjoy it while it's still a simple and unassuming, but I also can't wait to see what's in store.

It is refreshing to someone doing things the way they should be done. The rest of humanity and in particular the bureaucrats should be put on notice.... innovate or be sacked. Time is short to move from old school expensive, not reusable and slow, to, affordable, reusable, and with a quick turnaround time. Imagine if Bezos and many others ran an airline!!! You would never get to fly.

Spacex gets considerable funding and contracts from government organisations like NASA, although yes, Elon has commented on how hard it is for Spacex to succeed when governments do not throw their support behind the company
