My version of mission planner would not let me load any firmware except via custom software despite a re-install. I downloaded your hex file and eventually found out how to unzip it. (Not seen a 7z before). I then successfully loaded it as custom software. Hey presto! Everything working! Now I can get back to the optical flow setup. Thank you for the help. Richard.
also version 3.21 was broken for optflow for logging ect..If i remember right it was so broken i don't even think anybody that was actually running optflow with version 3.21 was actually running it.. I had to edit the firmware for 3.21 and posted it in the description of this video if your curious . however you still need to run version 3.15 to see the cli data. It has been 4 years since this video but I am pretty sure I explain it all in the video..
I tried to upload the custom firmware hex for the optical flow sensor. Now my APM board does not work! Just a single orange light and no connection to Mission Planner other than the optical flow options in console! Not happy! Any ideas?

+Richard Riddell oh maybe I'm confused.. what file did you actually load on your apm ? if you still have optical flow option that only means you still have the AP_OpticalFlow_test.hex on it.. hopefully you just have to load the 3.1.5 firmware now to get going... I explain that at 12:29 in this video opticalflow.test is just a man in the middle code for tweaking the sensor
+bangs6996 l seem to be able to load the optical flow firmware but not any apm firmware. Keep getting "unexpected error" or a timeout! If I could get hold of a firmware hex file maybe I could load it as custom firmware?
+hayriddell1 .. you can click on the download firmware button..you will end up here .. firmware.diydrones.com/Copter/stable/apm2-quad/ and download that hex file.. not sure if that will help your issue.. I would suggest making the apm bare and only have the usb plugged in.
+bangs6996 you can also try using www.hobbytronics.co.uk/arduino-xloader to load the hex.. just make sure to pick 2560 from the drop down.. it has no progress bar at all though.. so you need to wait 2 minutes before you give up... it should not effect the bootloader either.. but that is up to you.

+sandy boentoro Did you load the .hex file onto apm? If so you can try running script as admin .. If it still does not work try to load version 3.1.5 firmware to apm .. then go into terminal and see if you can get it to work. ..Triple check all wires .

+Sandy Kurniawan You might have to try a different mission planner ,version 1.3.24 .. firmware.ardupilot.org/Tools/MissionPlanner/ that might fix issues with your sonar as well. I do have another video on sonar
+bangs6996 thank you bangs, the OF_loiter already come out. but my ultrasonic problem is when i put it on the ground the ultrasound produce an anlog of 2.5 v but when i move with hand upward then the voltage getting low. it seem like inverteded value. do you know why? your video actually use HCSR04 with extra module for analog result right? but now i use maxbotic sonar sensor do you know my problem?
+sandy boentoro yes you are right I have a daughter board on mine... .I also don't have your module or ever had the issue with reverse voltage . I can try to look around for your issue tomorrow . is that the version where you have to make a special cable ect..

+erikson yol Take good pictures of all your wires going to the remote receiver and to the apm the motor side and the input side.. also as I said in email 1 week ago.. it looked like your blades were on wrong in that video..it could be defective apm but I some how doubt it. Do not plug it in anymore until I look at your pictures. send to my email.
Great video but I couldn't get it work as described. I'm using an APM 2.6 from 3DR with an ADNS-3080 optical flow module and while it works fine under Python and in the Arducopter 3.15 terminal, I cannot get OF_Loiter to appear as a flight mode option. Checked the box for the OF module and made sure it was enable in Parameters list - even disabled and re-enabled in the Terminal - but once back in the Arducopter GUI the OF_Loiter option still isn't available. I also downloaded your custom version of 3.21 but no luck. Weird.
+Crady von Pawlak You might have to try another version of mission planner. When you say not in mission planner do you mean in the flight mode options..? try version 1.3.24 . I was having the same problem of it not allowing me to pick it.. I had to uninstall mission planner then re install the old version. I believe at one time I even had to go to program files and manually delete the folder and re install.
+Mark Kriska are you talking about the regulator ..then yes.. there is a mod where you can cut off the regulator .then feed 3.3 to the i2c voltage pin....it a no solder mod.. besides that you can order the better regulator that comes with the apm2.8 that offers 500ma draw.. ect ect....or just replace the stock regulator, I got really lazy and just added another bec for all my addons..instead of feeding off the apm

+Mohammad Yasir version 3.1.5 firmware for your apm. so you can use the terminal to test the optical flow.. if it works in mission planner ..then we know it might be something to do with admin rights or files on your pc ect..
+Mohammad Yasir I forgot to ask .. are you unplugging and shutting down the py script.. you can't go from i to m and m to i without unplugging the apm ect..I'm sure you have but just need to throw that out as a option as well
+bangs6996 Actually I think I may have unknowingly not shut down the script before entering a different command. Thanks for pointing that out actually. But I checked again, after properly shutting it down, and the error repeats. The connection fails as well on mission planner for some reason in the terminal tab but the ADNS3080ImmageGrabber.py file works separately, except that it keeps giving the same errors whenever I send 'i' or 'm'. I have't tested the other commands yet. I'm trying to get the connection working on terminal for now so I can proceed with the setup like you showed
Hi you can get one from banggood here goo.gl/XBHycy , I get lots from that site , but most of my stuff come from ebay .. You can usually find a better package deal on ebay , where on banggood you have to sit and piece it out your self to save money .

yeah I did the exactly same but in place u get some value of x/dx as similar of y & z but for me everytime i do it remains same "0" of all 3 values as of optical flow kit concern it is working fine. but still u knw i dont understand wart goes wrong in it !

+Joselo Buret not sure if I can help you, I don't have a storm 800.. which is really nice looking hexacopter... and i don't have a walkera devo f12 remote..or the rx. it seems straight forward on wiring it though as it should all be labeled I tried to get a price off ebay seems nobody is selling that frame. However Does not mater of the price tag , when the heart of the aircraft is a apm2.6 it all gets wired the same regardless of the looks. the outputs are all the same for any hex and the inputs for your walkera would hook up the same as well .
