Not to mention, much of it is based on true characters: Alfred(Alfred the Great), Edward, Ethelflaed(particularly becoming Queen of Mercia, even if her path was different than history), and a couple more. Utred was a composite of several characters, but that’s what makes him such a compelling, central figure.

Oh my, I am so happy and so sad at the same time. One of the best shows ever. Every friend I have recommended it to has loved it. I have watched it over and over, and still laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time. So sorry it is over, I hate goodbyes.
@@Kizz_97s it's in my top 5 of shows for sure, every season is flawless, great characters, sad deaths, great fight scenes and its an awsome revenge story. It's worth watching for sure, one of my favourite shows since it is so flawless. Most shows usually have a bad ending or a bad season but not the last kingdom
@@khoirizulfalubis5648 he said "one of the best", I totally agree with you though, I've watched all of those shows and I'm a massive massive fan of game of thrones especially but arguably after the ending of game of thrones I find myself ranking the last kingdom over game of thrones because its ending was better but game lf thrones overall was a much more impactful enjoyment, if the last kingdom had a bigger budget, 2 more seasons it could have been on the same level as game of thrones in my opinion. It's tough because the ending of game of thrones was so so bad but the overall show was just amazing, whereas the last kingdom was so well executed even tho when comparing the characters game of thrones is too iconic. The last kingdom either way deserves an applause for sure, and alot more recognition. Uhtred is in par with Jon snow for me and uhtred has a better ending but the last kingdom doesn't have a tyrion lannister so game of thrones is superior lol, if game of thrones ending was executed correctly then it could have been the best show ever made, Breaking bad for me holds the title of the best show ever made. I'm so pissed of to this day that hbo managed to mess up the ending of game of thrones, it's a massive shame
This movie was the icing on the cake after the best series on Netflix in my opinion . I feel like as a devoted fan I have absolute closure. I fell out like a child when Utred said "Do not grieve for me !" as he was heading towards the after life and saying farewell to this life with his eyes filled with tears 🥲 It was such a wonderful series and movie .
I hate how the show seasons repeat the same storyline, Uthred gets kicked out or exiled . he meets a new women, and theres a new viking threat. I wanted them to go to other lands facing the viking threat like Ireland or Scotland
I cried when he told the priest about bevenber " what if I dont" and the priest answering right back " what if you do !" And he finally gets bevenber back at the end, understood that feeling of tiredness fighting, but there's still a match, never give, totally understand you girl
Yeah... Just watched the series for the third time. I get choked up at the end. Uhtred is such a well fleshed out character. You really feel what he is feeling.
The ending scene was so perfect. The depiction of the boundary between vallhalla and reality was so incredibly perfect and beautifully portrayed. Together with the series, a crowning conclusion of the story.❤
Wish there were more seasons of this show. It was so good! Granted I deprived myself of sleep because I could stop watching but that's how good it was. 😅 Maybe we'll get muiltiple movies instead 😋🤞
Genuinely hands down the best show I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot. The consistency of the episodes and the seasons with how good the storyline is, is fantastic. The character development of Uhtred is so emotional but satisfying at the same time especially to see where he ends up. To be honest I wish there were more seasons. However I cannot wait for this movie, bring it on. DESTINY IS ALL ⚔️
Yeah it really is the best show I've ever seen. The writing was phenomenal the pacing was fantastic and the characters were compelling. There wasn't a single bad episode! Hell, I can't even think of a filler episode in the entire series. Just a masterpiece of a show.
@@jeremybamgbadeep, every episode and every season was better than the last. Most of them had cliffhangers which left me wanting more, I swear I watched a season a day 😂
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. Revelation 17:10
Yeah I think it's the BEST show ever. Or top 5 anyway. I give it 10/10 for characters 10/10 for story. 9/10 for writing. People that complain about the historical accuracy in the show with battles, armor, houses, weapons. I mean they do some things right and other things wrong with a mix of "up for debate" so I give a 7/10 for that. But I mean all and all I have to rate this 10/10 for enjoyment. DESTINY IS ALL! Indeed!
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. Revelation 17:10
The battle scene at the end was one of the most historically accurate that I have seen. They fought accurately, in formation, rather than typical Hollywood style chaos. Very well done ending, and Uhtred was the true King Maker of England. 👑
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. Revelation 17:10
The story of the man who was born a Saxon and raised a Dane will live forever in my heart. I'm here, right after watching the movie, to register that I loved the ending, I cried. "SAD BUT TRUE" DESTINY IS ALL
My favorite series ever! Never tire of watching it and I can't wait for the movie! Just hope Netflix never stops streaming TLK. So happy to see this trailer. Just love this!
I already feel like the tension is going to be insane. Kind of bittersweet going into this without some of the characters we've lost along the way...But I'm excited to see how they wrap up the series. I know a lot of people are upset the show is ending; but I personally would rather it end now, on a potential high-note, than to drag on and eventually lose its luster. Plus it frees up the cast to go on to work on other projects. I've rewatched the series too many times as it is, and am considering checking out the novels. It quickly became a 'comfort show' for me, and I'm glad I was lucky enough to stumble across it.
Im in a complete euphoric state of mind, I am truly thankful for the people who had such an idea and brought it into fruition. This is going to be great!
I can't express how excited I am for this. The Last Kingdom is my favourite show on Netflix. It'll be sad to see it finally end, but its been one hell of a ride.
This amazing show deserves so much recognition and praise and is so critically underrated. I can't wait to rewatch the entire show again into the movie.
I haven't quite seen an ending like this one! absolutely phenomenal wrap up to a series that most medieval time shows & films would only dream for. Also the fact that Uhtred stuck to 3 generations of a bloodline, never faltering his loyalty. The honor in this is beyond measure that most people today could never achieve. There really isn't anyone else written about quite like him!
Why does Netflix insist on including fa** and tra****** in it’s shows if it’s not on purpose?! Like what the f***?!? How can it be denied at this point!?!? This is on purpose!!! Ask yourself why!!
TLK is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. I hate that it's coming to an end, but this movie looks incredible. For all of the fans out there, I highly suggest reading the books. They are fantastic.
I hate to say it about this is better than Vikings. The story and character development and growth is just consistent throughout all seasons. It's so engaging and never do you feel like the characters ever do anything that's too far out of line. Just all-around amazing it might be one of the best television shows and now movie.
I agree with their initial decision to speed things up since they covered all the books. Timeline wise Uhtred was 70 at this point and in order to conclude the story they had to go in a complete different direction. Having him end up in Valhalla was the better ending in my opinion. It allowed his faith to be rewarded in the end. To show his actual castle still standing is a testament to the resilience of his legacy as well. It was a great show and an excellent movie to cover all loose ends. They did this series justice and ending we can appreciate and a show to be remembered in good standing.
Yeah I loved the first two seasons!! I started to lose interest and dropped it after season 3? or 4? unclear to me. But might pick it back up since they are going all out with a movie.
It is one of those few gem shows which leaves one satisfied and amazed, be it be, characters, their growth, the plot , its development, cinematography….u name it. It hurts that its so criminally underrated😢, a lot of other shitty shows are getting way more acknowledgment among the audience while people barely knows this masterpiece. It wrenches my heart that it’s the last installation of this epic TLK saga❤❤.
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. Revelation 17:10
The ability to convey the complexity, nuance, and depth of Uhtred's journey has been remarkable, making it impossible not to be drawn into his world. The performance has been outstanding.

My brother loved this show. He passed away before he could see the final season. I can’t help but associate this show with him now and it’s bittersweet to watch it, mostly because I know I can’t talk with him about it afterward.
This show deserved as many seasons as there are books. So many characters I love from the books that I hope to see in the show! The mad monk , the bishops wife.. this series didn’t get the accolades it deserved. GRRM put me on to this show and it’s become one of my favorites. ❤ “Fate is inexorable”

Just finished reading Bernard Cornwell’s 13 books which Last Kingdom is based on (Saxon Stories). Of course there are differences but the Netflix series does an incredible job adapting the books. @@Texasguy316 I've only seen two seasons of the show, and it follows the books well, but of course the books are better and more happens. More battles and I feel like they had to tone down book Uhtred to be more TV friendly lol.
Absolutely One Of The Best Series Ever! On Any Network or Stream Site......Can't Wait To Watch But Sad To See TLK Come To A End.....All Hail Uthred Forever!!
SPOILER ALERT: Edit to add: I appreciate that they actually had an ending to the Utred saga, it was like watching a season ending episode every 10 min though. They crammed 2/3 seasons into 1hr 50 minutes....... They have to gay up everything these days, I'm so so sick of it. Unifying England under a "religious" christian homosexual is proof they have no shame anymore.
Æthelstan was such a promising character at the end of the series. They just had to go and ruin it. And why would he ever turn on Uhtred the man that basically raised him. Such a shit ending to a great story.
This shouldn't finish so fast one movie 2 hours is not enough for this unique series to end we love last kingdom I am so sad that is finishing without another season..

Utred was a composite of several characters, but that’s what makes him such a compelling, central figure.
I think we'll see new sequel in the future.
After reading several comments here, I am proud to be a part of The Last Kingdom’s fan base. I agree with everything my fellow fans have said. I’ve loved watching and re-watching this show and it’s characters for years and eagerly await the movie on the 14th.
Why does Netflix insist on including fa** and tra****** in it’s shows if it’s not on purpose?! Like what the f***?!? How can it be denied at this point!?!? This is on purpose!!! Ask yourself why!!
The casting has been superb. From “Ethelcod’s” groveling through the gauntlet to Uhtred’s launch through the shield wall, there are scenes in every episode that I look back upon and smile.
Do you mean Æthelwald?
Who tf is ethelcod 😂😂
Except for Father Benedict in Season 5.
Would have never happened. To all the "Feelings Police" out there, you know I'm right, too.
Why does Netflix insist on including fa** and tra****** in it’s shows if it’s not on purpose?! Like what the f***?!? How can it be denied at this point!?!? This is on purpose!!! Ask yourself why!!
this show is absolutely incredible, a masterpiece in story telling and characters, probably one of the few shows that deserves its own movie, im just sceptical because the ending to S5 was amazing i hope the film gives the entire saga as much closure as the show did
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. Revelation 17:10
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is 666. Revelation 13:16-18
0:39 Saxons fighting Scot’s again? I thought they had a alliance
@@kodesh1674 an alliance? What led you to that? Uhtred refused to pledge to Constantine or Edward making Northumbria a sort of DMZ if you will.
The best show I have ever watched! They all should be crowned for their noble job
Oh my, I am so happy and so sad at the same time. One of the best shows ever. Every friend I have recommended it to has loved it. I have watched it over and over, and still laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time. So sorry it is over, I hate goodbyes.
One of the best series of all time. Yet so so underrated.
🥱 😴 boring show.
The Last Kingdom is hands down one of the best series to be ever made. It is so criminally underrated!!
Happy to see the Trailer launch
Since you said it I’ll watch it I never seen it I seen barbians that one’s a good show
@@Kizz_97s it's in my top 5 of shows for sure, every season is flawless, great characters, sad deaths, great fight scenes and its an awsome revenge story. It's worth watching for sure, one of my favourite shows since it is so flawless. Most shows usually have a bad ending or a bad season but not the last kingdom
@@Kizz_97s You won't regret it! Just give it time, it starts slow but it gets better each season!
Nope, vikings, vikings valhalla, game of thrones etc
This show I found when it was in season 2 and surprised it is so popular now. It is really a gem
its not that popular but deserves to be popular its so underated
@@VOXNISAQT It is not as popular as other tv series but pretty popular in netflix when it airs but yeah really underrated
I hate how the show seasons repeat the same storyline, Uthred gets kicked out or exiled . he meets a new women, and theres a new viking threat.
I wanted them to go to other lands facing the viking threat like Ireland or Scotland
I watched from season 1 always knew it would do well its got great actors 👍
@@Cxncxnz yeah me too just was surprised a lot of people enjoyed it as well
I cried during the last scene of the season finale, such a powerful ending to a great story. Great music too.
I cried when he told the priest about bevenber " what if I dont" and the priest answering right back " what if you do !" And he finally gets bevenber back at the end, understood that feeling of tiredness fighting, but there's still a match, never give, totally understand you girl
When did the last season air
I have forgotten about the story. What happened in the end? I think the man and woman did a battle to the death ?
@@SuccessforLifester That's a few espisodes before the final Uhtred and Brida fight. But the final is attacking Bebbanburg.
Yeah... Just watched the series for the third time. I get choked up at the end. Uhtred is such a well fleshed out character. You really feel what he is feeling.
The ending scene was so perfect. The depiction of the boundary between vallhalla and reality was so incredibly perfect and beautifully portrayed. Together with the series, a crowning conclusion of the story.❤
yeah but i cant see ragnar ragnarson which is his beloved brother. and they put haesten.
Uhtred's journey isn't over yet, Can't wait to see this
Wish there were more seasons of this show. It was so good!
Granted I deprived myself of sleep because I could stop watching but that's how good it was. 😅
Maybe we'll get muiltiple movies instead 😋🤞
The best ever TV series period! Stupendously underrated!
I'm definitely going to love this but I'm scared for Finan and Sihtric, cause we all know this series likes it's sadness
I know, I have trust issues after season 5.
We need to keep what's left of Uhtred's "Bro squad".
Most of them had cliffhangers which left me wanting more, I swear I watched a season a day 😂
🙌🏽❤️
Indeed!
The series finale for this show was one of the best I had ever seen. Can’t wait for movie!
Can't wait! For me, the best Viking show there is. Destiny is all! 😊
I love the Last Kingdom so much, such a great story and amazing characters. I can't wait to see this. ❤️
were you at the original battles?
@@orangewarm1 I wish, but one of my ancestors was. 🫡
The Last Kingdom is a top tier drama near perfect in every way. So very excited for this movie
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. Revelation 17:10
This show will remain forever in our hearts
And this movie is going to be epic 😎
The story of the man who was born a Saxon and raised a Dane will live forever in my heart.
I'm here, right after watching the movie, to register that I loved the ending, I cried. "SAD BUT TRUE"
DESTINY IS ALL
Who is his name is movie and real life?
can you pls tell me
My favorite series ever! Never tire of watching it and I can't wait for the movie! Just hope Netflix never stops streaming TLK. So happy to see this trailer. Just love this!
It will not stop streaming, cause TLK Netflix original
Me troo !!!
As much as I love this show, I cannot deny that seasons 1 and 2 were peak TLK as far as the writing goes. The drama and comedy were so damn spot on
Yeah I loved the first two seasons!! I started to lose interest and dropped it after season 3? or 4? unclear to me. But might pick it back up since they are going all out with a movie.
What's the TV show called...?
the last season i think was really good too the ending was good
Seasons 1 and 2 were by far the best. 4 was a bit weak
@@konglee7284 The last kingdom. Netflix show
It is one of those few gem shows which leaves one satisfied and amazed, be it be, characters, their growth, the plot , its development, cinematography….u name it. It hurts that its so criminally underrated😢, a lot of other shitty shows are getting way more acknowledgment among the audience while people barely knows this masterpiece. It wrenches my heart that it’s the last installation of this epic TLK saga❤❤.

Just finished reading Bernard Cornwell’s 13 books which Last Kingdom is based on (Saxon Stories). Of course there are differences but the Netflix series does an incredible job adapting the books. And this movie looks to be the storyline from the last book called War Lord. Cannot wait to see this. Long live Uhtred!
