Saw him play live in the 2007 NCAA Tournament. Two rounds. He looked even older in person. And more geriatric. At the time I figured the awkwardness was because of his height. After seeing him play two games in Rupp, I was convinced he was thirty something.
His body definitely broke down like he was.
Lmao. We went to high school with him at LN. Funny story- The locker situation: So our lockers were arranged in two rows. First row of lockers were about 5ft from the ground and up- the bottom row inches from the ground and up. One year, dude had the locker closest to the floor. As tall as he was, shit was tragic. Also never underestimate the power of the internet. People jump on wagons all the time. A random girl made up a story about Kanye and Jeffree Starr and it made news for almost a month lol
several people posting evidence like the yearbook is quite believable. Especially since it showed classmates with their names so it was easy to check if the story holds up. you bet your ass NBA teams before the draft paid big money to have this researched by pro PIs and those apparently came back with the info that the story is true and he is in fact a lot older than his passport says.
I'm from Perth Australia and legit just yesterday my co-worker was telling me her sister (now in her late 20's) graduated with this dude hahaha. Also in regards to Aussie passports, refugees come to Aus in most cases with almost no documentation, so when they're taken in they are pretty much taken at face value when issued their new Australian documentation. So if he came in and said "I'm this old", and they didn't have substantial proof to say he wasn't then guess what. "Jeez you blokes are bloody tall then ey, imagine that." and boom. The record now says he's that old.
I'm from canada. A small town in toronto to be exact. ( one of the best schools in the world for credit recorvery) so he could get his high school credits therefore get his scholarship, Actually he went to my highschool (orangeville district secondary school) as him and a bunch of other star players came to my highschool (jamal murray) included.
From 2009-2012 I went to school with him....

@@OlivetheDoge A 20 year old or under that's a bit raw is considered a prospect in the NBA, a talent to be worked on and developed even if their game is a bit raw. A talent in their late mid to late 20's that hasn't shown much growth since high school and who's game is still very raw is generally considered to have peaked and to not have much improvement to come. Which tbh is probably why Cleveland waived him shortly after this video came out. Cus now even his listed age is getting to mid 20's and he hasn't gotten much better than when he was "19" so now teams are starting to abandon him to work on new younger draft prospects to see if they have more upside.

There’s someone that I played soccer with when I was like 7 and he was always so good but literally everyone knew he was lying about his age. He’s been on so many professional academy teams lol. Right now he’s apparently 17 but everyone that knows him knows he’s at least 20
There are a lot of Sudanese kids I even grew up with in Australia who just genuinely didn’t know their age.
Thon was my favorite player for years. At 7' tall, it was inspiring to see him consistently be the first to hustle down the court. His defensive skills consisted of great footwork, patience, and ability to follow a player's eyes instead of the ball. Pretty reliable 3 point wing shooter, too. I also said he'd be an MVP someday but the age issue proved that true NBA development comes early on. I still think the Bucks gave up on him too early, especially when we needed him more in that Bucks/Toronto playoff series a few years back.
