Ibnziyad Tariq actually it might’ve gone through if dan Gilbert hadn’t complained and whined about it being bad for small market teams plus the league basically owned the hornets in the meantime while they were trying to sell the team
Instead of having Melo though OKC could have had Enes Kanter who fits perfectly alongside Russ and was one of the league's best bench big men at the time. They also would have had Doug Mcdermott who's a great shooter coming off the bench, a thing that OKC lacked seriously that year (bottom 5 in 3pt%). Plus not only would the chemistry of the team be better and PG would have a similar season to last year but also they wouldn't have an inconsistent Melo who played horrible defense. The funny thing is that in the playoffs Billy Donovan kept him on the court...so the Jazz took advantage of that pick&roll switch and you saw the results. I believe that OKC would be a better team. Russ, Andre/Brewer, PG, Grant, Adams and off the bench Felton, Doug, Kanter, Abrines, Patterson. This team would have been far better without Melo. Imagine if Roberson didn't get hurt and OKC fired Donovan that year. They would have made some noise in the West. That's FACTS.
Jeff Green had his best years in Boston and was even the best player for one year on the team, also had some incredible games when the Celtics still could make a deep playoff run. like his 43 against the heat during their historic run
Rodney rogers was one of my favorite nets players in the early 2000s. If i remember correctly, jake voskel was a ncaa champion. Same could he said about nazr muhommed. 7 footers who scouts and gms would somehow resemble shaq in some way, or centers are the pinnicle of a good offense and defense.

Perk to okc really worked out for me, from a rising team they became an instant title contender challenging the Mavs on the 2011 WCF the same year Perk arrived. As for the Celtics, yeah they Green wasn't a good fit, I remember them as the first seed and 3-0 vs Miami that year on the regular season before the Green trade to third seed and Miami taking care of the Celtics in 5 games.

Denver got Iggy but then he left after ‘13. For the short term, all 4 teams were in worse shape than before the trade.
Even the winner of that trade lost. Iguodala left Denver after 1 season, Bynum sent the sixers into the process after having played 0 games for them, Dwight Howard left the lakers after 1 season, and the magic used those draft picks horribly
The Scotte Pippen trade was a sign-and-trade. He was a free agent, and the Bulls agreed to a sign-and-trade so he could get a bigger contract. That's why they got nothing for him...they were in no position to get anything for him anyway. The entire point of the trade was to help a franchise legend get more money.

Deron Williams: it was addition by subtraction for the Jazz. They didn't trade Williams because they thought the haul they were getting was superior and it would put them over the top. They traded Williams because Williams was itching to leave, kind of like when Kyrie asked out of Cleveland. Kendrick Perkins: the worst part about the trade is that OKC traded for Perkins, then signed him to a big contract extension, then traded James Harden in the next offseason because they wanted to stay under the tax line. They lost James Harden because they were cheap and bet on Perkins instead. At least the Celtics could say they needed another guy to defend LeBron to win the East, and Green averaged 14.6 ppg for Boston.
Favors is a solid role player while DWill is out of the league. It may not be what they wanted or expected, but compared to each other, Jazz won the trade
Like I said, when you get an all star pg and two top 3 picks and none of those players becomes an all star for you... you didn’t win the trade lol no one did. I do like favors as a role player, it’s just he was the number 3 pick
And if Deron Williams' work ethic contributed to Garnett and Pierce leaving in free agency, it was an even worse trade for the Nets. People look at the Garnett and Pierce trade as a bad one, but if the Williams trade caused them to leave, then it was THAT one that's the bad one.
The D-Will trade didn't bring any stars to Utah, but I will say this: Derrick Favors is one of the all-time most beloved players among Jazz fans. He's a guy who simply shuts his mouth and puts in work. If the right situation presents itself for him somewhere, he could absolutely be a valuable role player on a championship-caliber team.
If the Celtics took Noah in 2007 when they traded the pick for Ray Allen, this trade would have never happened. The Thunder would have already been set with a lineup of Westbrook, Sefolosha, Durant, Ibaka, Noah with Harden off the bench. Damn.
