@CHP81 Any of these three will work well for capturing the northern lights. Photo mode will get best results for a night lapse but the night lapse video mode on all three will also do well. The GoPro does have a slight advantage over the DJI and Insta360 with the interval function not needing to have a slight gap between frames during a night lapse but that is a minor difference.
Thanks! This video outlines the settings I used to capture this northern lights display as well as night lapses in general: ruclips.net/video/rW53m7-fFnM/видео.htmlsi=knD6iKLsDsfBhuYF
Thank you. Check out this video right here where I show time lapse settings on the X4. Only adjustments you’ll need to make for night lapse is setting the EV Comp back to 0 and adjusting the shutter speed to about 25 or 30 seconds and the ISO to 1600 Max. ruclips.net/video/lGeEJncQZH4/видео.htmlsi=dWj6vuhETZKtPfop
Nice video. I noticed that you use the Anker power bank to film a time-lapse with action cameras. I was wondering if you simply just plug it inlike you would with a phone, or do you double tap the button first like you would to charge accessories such as ear buds and smart watches to avoid damaging the equipment.
So cool!! I was out last night along Lake Michigan in Chicago and saw them faintly. Others saw them brilliantly, but I was not in the right place at the right time! Where did you capture this?

Nice!
Hey mate, nice work. Where did u film this vision? When I lived in Canada I heard Edmonton and NW territories were the best places to see the lights .
This was way down in Virginia in the United States.
Wow 😱
Mich würden die Einstellungen von der DJI Action 5 Pro interessieren.
Ein super schöner Zeitraffer, Respekt.
Nice Shot! What settings do you use for night timelaps, especially for northern lights? Tia
