Good tutorial!
Just got a budding Myer tree from a nursery today and I'm probably going to clone it because it seems to be a good producer judging by the amount of bud sites.
Great tutorial sir...
Awesome❤❤

The dog is chillin' to the music...
Good system

thanks gonna try this. I'm sure you know this but your dogs really stole the show on this one.
They tend to do that 😊, thanks for watching !
My Meyer lemon cuttings are doing quite well after 3 months. I moved them from plastic cups to small pots and are all (5 plants)7 about 12" tall.
How tall should they be before I plant them in the ground? I LVE IN CENTRAL florida, zone 9.
Thanks for your help.

I have seen so many videos on this topic. Yours is the Best!.. I like to your follow up videos.
thanks
good tip, how long for the leaves and roots to grow ? Thanks .
Thanks so much for sharing. Just tried this method with Mayer lemon, katuk, and olive (figured why not see what happens) 🤞🏾
Can you post an update on specially for the olive??
@@hildatubbiolo5135 hi. For weeks it didn’t bother to root but it didn’t die. I ended up removing from the coconut shell. I dipped it in rooting powder again and switched the cutting to citrus/cactus soil. It finally started to take root but just one sad lonely leaf for weeks. About two weeks ago I moved the cutting closer to the original plant and now it’s finally starting to grow more leaves. Guess it just needed company lol
@@hildatubbiolo5135 the katuk too root quickly and is thriving. Meyer lemon failed but I think because I left it in the cup/dome too long.
Thank you for your video. The Meyer lemon cuttings that I planted have all prospered. After 2 weeks. I expect that roots will flourish in another month. I plan on putting them in pots prior to permanently planting in my garden. When should I start feeding them specific plantfood?
Thank you

Good luck !!
Waooo
Why didn't I think of that to save my plant 😔 the makeshift dome.... Ugh...thanks for the tip.

E-bay , thanks 2024
Charles can you rooth a museum hybrid Palo Verde from cuttings ? please let me know am very interested on your answer...thanks ..great videos by the way
Yes you can.
🙃
I have 12 Meyer lemon cuttings, no roots after 3 months, but no rot or mold either.
Will this method work for any citrus plants? Is it possible to make your own rooting growth hormone?
How to pick a good cuttings from an established lemon tree ?
Just pick a healthy tree, new growth is ok, avoid branches with mildew or pests.
Did all of them catch?
Can you reply to me with the ebay link? Please and thanks
How much sunlight should I give them ???

I've had no luck rooting cuttings, after some time they would turn brown and die off. I'm going to try this method.
Update, my cuttings have started to root. My first time having success. I've done so many cuttings with no luck. I used this method with Mayer lemon and peppermint plant cuttings. Both started rooting in a month. I used bottled water. Thanks.
@@eal5023 Did you put your cuttings under a light? Thanks.
@@jbfanta I just kept in the room, no extra light. They are doing great right now.
Don’t they need air?
We have groundwater with a pH of 8. Is this a problem? Does it need to be more neutral, or does it matter?
Shouldn’t be a problem, you can always add soil additives if you need to adjust PH.
Do the cuttings need to be grafted?
No need to graft since they are closes.
@@305Gardener ok great thank you, my cutting is only about 4-5 inches tall, so prob won’t get fruit for few years ?

If I take cuttings from my Meyer Lemon tree, how long can I go without taking care of them. Do I have to plant in rooting hormone right away or can I get to it in a week. I'm moving long distance, afraid my mature lemon tree won't survive the move and thought I should take some cuttings, just in case. But I don't want to transport the cuttings in the "dome". I thought I could take some cuttings, wrap in something moist and start the process after I get moved. Could they survive a week before planting if kept moist? I'd appreciate any help
If you put them in water (like flowers) inside some humidity dome like these you’ll be ok. The biggest takeaway is not letting the cuttings dry up.
Cut extra nodes. . Then once it’s time to clone cut up further to a fresh node
Put them into a used water bottle with a bit of water and close the cap
@@absurdnerd7624 makes sense. will try.
If you don’t have root hormone available, just dip the stem into a cutting of aloe vera. The aloe vera gel has natural root stimulants. That has worked well for me.
I tried a method similar to this, and the next day the stems were completely floppy and flaccid, any tips?
It's possible the cuttings were a little too immature. They have to be still green but strong.

Help! After i removed the cup the cutting started to die
If you're referring to the dome cup, just put it back on and it will look ok in about 2 days or so.
@@305Gardener so when will it be time to uncover it
@@cybrlcp7866 i wouldn't uncover until there are enough leaves that are pushing out the cup. the cup won't do any harm.
@@305Gardener ok thank you 👍👍👍
Do you have any cuttings for sale?
I don't at the moment but I will in the future.
@@305Gardener please keep me posted
How many times you add water?
Or with the humidity will do it?
Not often since it’s covered and the humidity stays trapped.
After you add water you just add another cup to put on the bottom and the same water will recycle so you just have to put water once and that’s it. It work with lime and avocado cutting
Any updates?
