that pink wire at the ECM is powered by a fuse in the panel ,,,,I found the fuse was GOOD but no power to the ECM, pulled panel and the wire terminal on the back of the fuse panel was bad going to the ECM!!! repaired terminal, got power to ECM and injector pulse

That is a big block 454 (not small block). No pulse = ICM issue, or wiring between ICM and PCM. The ICM/PCM grounds at/near the T-stat front of intake. Should be a metal bracket that bolts to the T-stat housing. No power to the pink/black wire makes me believe it's the ignition switch (base of steering column backside) Quite a bit of electrical passes thru it and it's known to go bad. For the injectors to pulse the ICM must be functioning.

where is the green ground connecting to?

  • @danielcoe9421

Because of your description of that bad wire I was able to find a faulty wire on my ignition fuse that was not letting me get fuel pressure. Thank you for the video

Thanks man. Your video helped figure out what was wrong with my 89 s10 blazer with 4.3 tbi. I wiggled a cluster of wires that has that pink wire in it and she fired right up. Thanks for the video I even saved it

I recently purchased a 1992 GMC Topkick c6000 with a 366 6.0 gasoline engine and it turns ON but will not stay ON. I have to quickly step on and off of the gas pedal repeatedly for it to idle. It won't idle otherwise. I replaced the IAC, fuel pressure regulator, throttle body injector o-rings, sprayed the injectors and ports, fuel pump and strainer but still the same results. As I pump the pedal I was told there is fuel at the injectors but it is weak and to clean them out which I believe I already did. I gave up but will revisit it again someday. Thank you for the video as it encourages me to return to the GMC.
