    Thanks this was extremely helpful. I was confused by the watering days, but could not figure out what was confusing. It was the last part you explained - that there is no enter button, and the controller runs the last program that was up on the screen.

    • @matthewkrom5898
      @matthewkrom5898 4 года назад +1

      The reason a system keeps restarting after it's finished is because there are too many start times programmed. The start time(s) tells the system when to begin it's watering cycle. Once started it will run through each zones/stations run time in sequence, one after the other. An individual start time per zone is not needed unless you want to water more than once per watering day. Go to your start times and remove the secondary start times. The "OFF" is located between 11:45pm and 12:00am.

    So if I do an interval of 3 watering on the third day or the 4th day

  • @DM-hd4xm

    Thank you for the explanation, question for you, how does the interval watering knows when to start? example every third day, there has to be a starting day, all the days are displayed in the bottom of the screen as watering days, how does the system know when to start counting from?

    • @matthewkrom5898
      @matthewkrom5898 2 года назад

      There is a "days left" setting/number next to the interval days number on that same screen. That is where you can set the number of days left until the next watering day.

    so if I only want to schedule on days of week not odd or even or interval days ( for example only Monday, Wednesday) the last screen I should stay is the schedule on days of week ? Not move to odd or even or interval then the system will only work for days of week schedule?

    Unable to get the full raindrop to set. Only the rain drop with line across. I keep pushing the + to add a water day but nothing happens??? Any idea???

    • @applevalleyirrigation7987
      @applevalleyirrigation7987  2 года назад +1

      The raindrop with the circle and slash through it only appears as an option to eliminate available watering days when setting your watering schedule based on an interval or ODD/EVEN. The raindrop (indicating a watering day) is only used/available when setting your watering schedule based on days of the week. They are two separate screens within the same setting area. You would want to hit the plus button on each day of the week to remove the raindrop with the circle/slash through it above each day, ensure the interval is at 1 then use the arrow keys (either one) to cycle through to the day of the week screen (when the INT option at top right disappears), then +/- for each day of the week you want. In the interval (INT) or ODD/EVEN option all days are automatically considered watering days and you are only given the option to eliminate or avoid certain days with the raindrop with the circle/slash.

    I see that you posted this 6 years ago but can you explain what "interval" is? Female here and I know absolutely nothing about how this works! Thanks!

    • @matthewkrom5898
      @matthewkrom5898 Год назад

      The interval setting within the water day portion of your program determines a number of days between watering days. So an interval of 3 means the system will water every third day, an interval of 2 means the system will water every second day or every other day as opposed to watering on specific days of the week or odd or even numbered dates on the calendar (even being the 2nd, 4th, 6th ..... day of the month). The other number on the screen labelled "Days Left" indicates how many days are left before the system waters again.

      @@matthewkrom5898 Thank you but I need more clarity. Do I have to set interval on something? I have it on 1 right now. I also have it set to run on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

    • @matthewkrom5898
      @matthewkrom5898 Год назад

      @@terrialexander1534 There are three ways to set your watering day schedule and you can only choose one. You either set days of the week such as Sunday, Tuesday and Friday OR select an interval such as every 2 or 3 days OR odd or even calendar dates. If you are selecting interval or odd/even all the days of the week have to allow watering, which means none of them can show the little rain drop with the circle and slash through it above the day of the week. This is because the day of the week in which the system is set to water will change from week to week on either interval or odd/even. If you want to set particular days of the week such as you listed you can leave the interval set @ 1. You then need to make sure all the days of the week below the interval 1 number on that same screen do NOT have the rain drop with circle and slash. Then continue to press the right arrow key until you get to the so called "day of the week" screen in which the word interval and the number above it disappear. The days of the week at the bottom need to show a rain drop on the days you want watering and will either be blank or have the rain drop with circle and slash (depending on the year of your controller) indicating non-watering days. You press the + key to turn days on and the - key to turn days off. You can also call our office 860-426-3377 and get a call back when you are standing in front of your timer and we'll walk you through it.

    Can you set a station to run every day while the other stations run every other day? If so, how?

    • @applevalleyirrigation7987
      @applevalleyirrigation7987  5 лет назад

      Renee Rhodes Yes - You can use the Program button/function (oval button - PRG). Put run time(s) on the zone(s) you want to water on a particular day schedule on one program and the other zone(s) you want to have water every day on a different program, ie. Program A every other day vs Program B every day. Most controllers have programs A, B, and C so you can break out zones over three different watering day schedules.

    What is the second number when seeing the internal days?

    • @matthewkrom5898
      @matthewkrom5898 Год назад

      The second number (to the right) is “Days Left”. As in how many days are left until it waters next. If you have a 4am start time and it’s 3pm showing 0 days left it will water at 4am the next morning. If it shows 1 then it will water again at 4am on the second day.

    • @applevalleyirrigation7987

      Add a second program start time that coincides with the timing of the end of the first cycle. You can also set the start time for right after the first start time and the controller will stagger it for you.

      @applevalleyirrigation7987  2 года назад +1

      @@spawn1086 Being able to use it manually means it's not a wiring issue. A faulty rain sensor could cause an issue like this as manual use circumvents the sensor. If you're able to bypass the sensor (jumper wire needed if your model does not have a bypass switch) and it still won't work on automatic schedule then it's either a watering day programming issue or the timer simply needs to be replaced.
