The Female frog lays the eggs, and the male covers them with his seed afterwards. Quite peculiar. The process is a so called External fertilization. so what the duck was eating was actually the froggysperm......
Haha, poor little frogs. I've read that only male frogs make sounds to attract female frogs. So chances are that he killed all the male frogs, and now you're left with the silent female ones. If that's the case, you'll likely have some leaping male frogs coming your way next season. Haha! Either way, I'm glad you're able to sleep now, at least :D
Recently i was fishing by a lake far into midnight and on my trek back on a gravel path i noticed an suspiciously large rock in my peripheral vision. Turned out to me a smol froggy, i guess he spotted me before i spotted him as he was'nt moving a muscle for a very long time. Then i found his brother just down the path. I came back a few minutes later to take pictures but they were both gone.
I luv froggys!
Yeah, they're pretty cool!
They indeed are!

We had so many frogs, we couldn't sleep at night. We hired a guy with a pellet gun. Now the genepool only contains silent frogs. Evolution in action!

It's been 3+ years and there was hardly a croak from them last summer. Wasn't expecting that result, but there it is.
