Fine I’ll listen to Square Hammer for the millionth time
FRRRR
Relatable
love how he subtly roasts acoustic like “on a real guitar, an electric guitar”
more of a non-native thing. I'm Swedish and I've said the exact same thing without meaning it
Lol my high ass didn't catch that
My neighbors listen to Ghost. Even if they don't want to.
I feel sorry for them.
I want to be neighbour😂❤
😂
@@weebsarecringe2102edgy bro
They must say “wow this guys a fuckin dweeb with terrible normie taste, why doesn’t he put on an actual metal band who’s at least even slightly heavy and isn’t just baby lullaby music played by a band”
Okay now I want Square Hammer acoustic
He has some unique melodies that’s why I was first intrigued by their music. Like James hetfield said “ they were a breath of fresh air”
Hmm I don't get this, because their music borrows so much from the past
@@JG-nx3jg I’m speaking more towards his music before ghost, and ghost earlier albums. I believe Meliora was when they really started leaning towards a commercial sound.
@@JG-nx3jgGood musicians borrow...great musicians steal. I don't remember who originally said this, but I find it profound and somewhat accurate. Tobias borrows ideas from the past and expands on them in his own, unique way. I really appreciate hearing his thought process behind the Ghost project...I bet he could have conceptualized multiple band ideas, but this one stuck, and then it took over the popular metal scene.

Listening to this guy talk, I would never guess he's Swedish
I would guess he was born there, but likely was raised in the US or Canada.
@@callofdutyblackops9 no actually he grew up in linköping.
Protect this man at all costs.
Satan is doing just that.
Every ghost fan is protecting him with the help of satan
He is a complete ass who royally fucked over all the original Ghost members. Why protect him?
Fisty ann? Your a bad bad girl 😏😆
The 70s band I’m like 90% sure he’s talking about is BÖC (Blue Öyster Cult)!
I've always thought that he used BoC as an inspiration for Ghost. BoC's 60s inspired surf rock guitars and bright poppy melodies paired with antithetically dark themes. This is ghost to a tee
Ghost is definitely a modern Blue Öyster Cult, they should really have a tour together before BÖC retires...
I think I remember reading an interview he gave where he mentioned that he does love Blue Oyster Cult but they are nowhere near as much of an influence on him as people think they are.
Among others, sure!
@@williepearl278 I've seen that interview too, but I still think the BÖC influence is too huge to be ignored, even if he denies it or if it's somehow unconscious to him. The two bands are very similar, both lyrically and musically, just with a few sound differences due to technology and modernity, but overall they sound the same.
Such a TALENTED MAN!!!
It’s both amazing & sad that in Denmark, Finland, Norway, & Sweden, you can go to University and really study Music of every genre (Fins have most Metal bands per capita!) but in the 🇺🇸 a music Arts diploma pretty much means violin or piano & classics
He is one of the most consistent songwriters of our time. There aren’t many greats these days but he’s at the top of the list
Tobias is such a talented person coming with such great music and characters to really make it such an epic rock musical.
The indescribable joy this video brings me
Omg riiight!😅❤
One of the most talented musicians alive.
Carry on my wayward son
There are not enough words to express how much I adore this man. So freaking talented.
We need a full acousic cover by him, its so pretty
“On a REAL guitar, y’know an ELECTRIC guitar…” 🎸 🔥
His talent is over my understanding 😮❤
I love how he just hits “can’t explain” by the who as an example. I love the Who.
Awesome song
Dude you are a gift to mankind in a world that is so close to the edge your music is like a band aid that can cure every disease
Playing a SICK PRS acoustic and says “on a real guitar…” Bruh. 😂☠️
Papa can play really well
and he legit makes that guitar sing the sweetest melody 🎵
Musical genius at its finest ❤
Squammer
are you on the lare? are you on the squevel?
This comment is so stupid but I laughed at it for way too long it shouldn’t be that funny
Squammer
he is the man
The future is a foreign land also has this type of vibes
Seriously. As a writer and lyricist I feel all of his points so hard!
Not to mention his swagger and charisma on stage
He's almost totally lost his Swedish accent
Ghost is awesome. Tobias is so talented.
This guy is greatly talented. Ghost and Magna Carta Cartel is just about all I listen to.
A real guitar 😅
I see no contradiction
Was great to hear an update! Ideas/requests for content:
1. Sound Awake listen-through reaction/analysis commenting on parts of the music and production that speak to you
2. Ambient/acoustic EP of course
3. Compare your oldest rigs with newest, mix and match old and new gear
4. Write an experimental song or two with 0 guitar in it and show your process!
Cheers!
I have a theory that someone should offer Tobias to play the devil in some series or movie and it would be the best devil ever , idk why.
Needs more cowbell
Lol did he just say that acoustic guitars aren’t real guitars?
This is amazing! 🤩
Fascinating
Listen to "Who will take the Fall?" By Pat Travers...the intro riff is basically this...may be coincidence, but it's VERY CLOSE...It's on "Black Pearl"
love this interview ❤
Such a great song!
Esse homem é lindo de mais pqp
"... this pull off is kind of important" *camera zooms in on the hand that does NOT show the pull off'
LOVE YOU
He’s so cute, oh my gosh.
Thank you, Mason Williams.
“My neighbors are always listening to songs with loud drum and bass. Whether they like it or not!!”
a pure music tragic
The first one is "Can't Explain", from the Who.
To me they sound like 80's hair metal pop
Their later stuff for sure, but their first three records definitely sound like 70s Sabbath and BOC.
Nah, they've always had an 80s influence.
I love Tobias
Reminds me of fam trip to disneyland for some reason its got that theatrical sound not sure if its by design that it should remind you of dark disney expp
It sounds too much like hazy shade of winter. I don’t hate that it does. That’s just what it reminds me of.
More ghost content pls
It's hard to hear his voice and guitar over the squeaking of his leather jacket 😂
That first riff he played was definitely "bye bye love" by the cars.
Can't explain by the Who, maybe?
Sounds like this velvet glove
Parece o Andy Bernard
❤ das war das lieblings Lied von meinem Mann 😢
Now they actually been around since the 90s
❤❤❤
🤘💜
I always thought it was just tongue and cheek about the Masons
Yeah I thought that too, when he says "on the level" and square is for square and compass
Come on dude! You can't just drop little bits of acoustic versions without us fans wanting the full thing! (Half joking, although we'd really appreciate it)
Sure it has 70s but more 80s
He said "this pull-off is kind of important" and then at the very last second of the video he doesn't do it. lol
What songs does he play?
Death Knell and then Square Hammer.
Now listen to snakebite by Alice Cooper and hear a very similar riff.
When is this interview from, anybody know how old it is?
❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤👍🐿👍
❤
I preferred Subvision
Tobias angering acoustic players when he said, “on a real guitar, electric guitar.”
Thats Tobias?
yep, without any of his papa masks
@@urlocal_liz he look 20 even when hes 40+
I’m surprised he seems to have no accent
Swedes usually don't when we speak English
@@VenusAlabaster I really wasn’t aware. I saw something about Sweden having the best English outside of English speaking countries
How do Swedish people have such good American accents ?
I have been deceived my whole life! Acoustic is not real guitar!
Garage
for not being an American. he sure sounds like it
That's what we sound like when we speak English
So ghost is just spinal tap?
Remember, there are acoustic guitars, and there are real guitars.
How dare you call that acoustic a fake guitar lol
RITE HERE RITE NOW 💋🙇🏾♀️‼️
or you just ripped off the groove from "Rainbow in the Dark" by Dio
Is that the lead singer
Yep, but he also kinda created the whole thing
Ghost are hacks
Ripp off of valley of misery main riff from Holocaust
Hail Satan 👍😎👍
Archangeloooooo
Hail Satan!!
HAIL STAN
Welcome year zero
Geeks
Absolutely poop
Lol electric guitar is a "real guitar".
Bruh can’t even play guitar 😂😂😂
No what he had was a concept and hired musicians that could actually write the music
He writes it
His voice does not sound like the lead singer of Ghost. Just sayin'.
Sodo definitely the dumb guitar player lol
ghost? never heard of them-ever!
Garbage
sounds like you ripped it from Alice Coopers Snake Bite
You never wanna meet your heroes.
Ghost sucks
Nice shirt
