The video by which I knew Widepsread Panic. Here in Europe, in France, we know Derek and Susan but one day - blessed - I came across this video because of that, and it's one of the best days of my life as a musician. Thanks to this video, I've known Widepsread Panic, a fantastic band I've come to know from the beginning, with Mikey, all, JB, Dave, Jojo, Todd, Sunny, Duane now, and Jimmy ... I love you, I will love you so much that you come back to France, not visited since 1998 ... Please ...
I shared a baby nursery at the hospital with JB as an infant. The man was bad from day one. Only baby not crying. Word in the hospital was he came out growling something about chicken. 😆❤️✌🏽
I have been in love with WSP for so long I've seen them quite a few times. 2014 followed them around the country. Halloween in Chicago 2011 and New Year's in Nashville 2016. Haven't been able to see
I've never listened to a version of this tune without Mikey before. This was just his tune. My favorite lines from one of my favorite players ever. Derek and Jimmy do it incredible justice and take it to new places. Great jam.
Great shot of Derek playin’ with little brother Duane playin’ drums in the background and Duane’s father-in-law, JH, PLAYIN’, just lookin’ and smiling. God, these guys are my tribe!
They're all a bunch of fucking wizards man. They magically blow my mind every time good people... I love everything about these guys the music, the band, the community, and the shooowwwss. Fuuuuck I'll never be the same.......in the best way possible
Side stage and got to watch Panic watching Tedeschi/Trucks band before they played. Then this happened and other greatness. Good start to a 6 show run :cheers to all who caught 4-23-16>Raleigh
Yea Trucks definitely kicked some ass! Check em out in St Augustine of this year's fall tour, High time we went is probably the best sit in of him and Susan I've EVER seen with the boys!
Fuckin christ that first slide solo Derek takes is one of the craziest things I've ever heard. Don't know anyone else who makes a guitar sound like that
Learned to play slide first because his hands were too small to form some of the more spread out chords. As soon as he hit his teens everything fell into place in his playing. He is as gifted a guitarist to come along in many many years. Also a good family man and husband. Pretty darned rare individual along with his wife and one of the better active bands today. You should see em live one time. You will be a believer too. Good slide playing is one of the more difficult skills to master, that is why so few do it well.
Derek plays lead all the time, you apparently are NOT familiar with his playing or catalog.... he also play lead in "Open E" which is difficult at best because he is self taught!

Now knowing Jimmy is fighting a battle makes this hit even different. We los lt Mikey, praying we don’t lose Jimmy.
Jimmy and Derek always bring out the best in each other.
That's because Derek is Jimmy's time machine self. He's done this all before.
Great shot of Derek playin’ with little brother Duane playin’ drums in the background and Duane’s father-in-law, JH, PLAYIN’, just lookin’ and smiling. God, these guys are my tribe!
Some great folks, and musicians for sure. WSMFP.
👍🏽❤️😀
Thank you for pointing out this incredible significance!! Yeah!!!
Concerning Derek: "That's as good as I've ever heard" BB King.
👍🏽😀🙏🏽
Spirit moves in all things... including Derek😎
for sure!!!
Watching Derek then Jimmy is a lesson for any aspiring musician. Soul is more powerful then notes.
Can’t beat Jimmy and Derek.

WSMFP and this is why.
Love this band
Man Jimmy is sounding good. Mikey's shining down
Had this on autoplay and thought, "Man! He sounds just like Derek Trucks!"
D trucks is my absolute favorite guitar player of all time. Sorry Mikey ☹️ love and miss you and the Colonel. Love
Can I ask why? I’m not arguing...would just love to hear your thoughts.
@@auroraborealis13579 here's what I say about Jimmy (whom I like better than mikey), he seems to know what note I want before I know it.
Brett Mitchell yeah. Cool way to put it.
Sunny with the Panicstream tee!!! :)
The spirit moves in all things.
Jimmy and John backing up DEREK, I'll Take It!!!!
Listening to it over and over it's very classic 🤠 I keep going back for more and more
O fuck yeah I ❤widespread with Jimmy Herring and Derek Trucks oh yeah that Allman Brothers Spirit going through his guitar
Wsmfp. Went to the next night in chatty. Not as good and the ac wasn’t working. Ugh. Can’t believe I missed this show.
Nice job, Andy T!
what a jam
I miss those WANEE Festivals: Derek, Jimmy, Warren, et al..
outstanding !
Side stage and got to watch Panic watching Tedeschi/Trucks band before they played. Then this happened and other greatness. Good start to a 6 show run :cheers to all who caught 4-23-16>Raleigh
Cheers 🥂
Good God does Derek channel Duane through his playing.
In the East I think they call that "reincarnation."
Bringing the heat!!!!
Excellent audio!! TY!!
So Damn Good 💯
Outstanding!🫡
Like a cow in a pasture
jo jo is the real king here
Yea Trucks definitely kicked some ass! Check em out in St Augustine of this year's fall tour, High time we went is probably the best sit in of him and Susan I've EVER seen with the boys!
Where else can I find WSP with Derek sitting in.......point the way please
The Best ❤🔥
Hell yeah! Great Friday tune!!
Best part of this whole song is Dave on the bass
Dave always appears to be at the top of his game.
Glad I’m not the only one that feels that way. Schools always killing it.
And that majestic hair!
Nope best part of this whole thing is them playing together for their and our enjoyment. 😉🙂
I couldn’t agree more. Dave is a magnificent bassist!
Fuckin christ that first slide solo Derek takes is one of the craziest things I've ever heard. Don't know anyone else who makes a guitar sound like that
🔥🔥🔥🎶🎶🙌🙌

10:25 it gets good
GD and DB came together with WP 😄
Mikey 🍻🤘
would you like a solo with that?
crowd looks pretty tame for "coke mountain"
I think you can call the Schools B string and Ortiz's percussion PUNCH. Go cats go!!!
Ortiz always seems to be wagging something at just the right time.
Birmingham Alabama or Birmingham England ?
4:20 it is:)

Derek’s brother Duane on drums.
really thats somthin i didnt know thank you😎
Duane is his 1st cousin, Duane's dad, Butch, is THE legendary drummer.
paul stokes @paul stokes Duane Trucks is Dereks brother not his cousin. Butch son is Vaylor who is a guitarist.
@@ronzo54 you are correct and, I do believe, Duane is married to Jimmys daughter.
95% of this is amazing only negative 5% are the empty seats at the top, place should be sold the fuck out
Guys please 🙏 turn off these midroll ads. I can’t have the peak of a guitar solo spoiled by a vrbo ad.
In purple tony dow
derek trucks looks like a majestic horse.
😆I think I agree 🙂
i wasn't paying attention and then I said who's on the pipe? Gawdam! so
RIP todd
trucks shit the bed on this, still a fan though
Yeah, that was awful. Panic is awesome still.
Seriously?

An ad mid song. Tsk tsk.
Jimmy would be 1st to tell you Derek is the better off the rwo
Yep. Everyone should be able to graciously admit that. 🙂
"Better" it's amazing but we can appreciate both as distinct persons and talents
This shit rips but isn't the right track for Derek
Lol. I don't see him complaining.
@@VoluntaristJAM 👍🏽 I believe it worked.
I know everything can’t be pentatonic but this is gettin a little jazzy for my ear. Impressive but somehow missing some soul.
Playing slide guitar is easy. Someone change my mind
LOL. Have you tried it?
Let's see you do it then
@@VoluntaristJAM one time and it didnt feel that hard
Derek didn't seem very into it..
I thought that also at first but he may have been sitting back since it wasn't his show.
That's how he looks all the time playing. Just tapping his foot lol. Go watch any other D Trucks video.
Andrew N. ....Less is more...much more!
Good one! you have quite a sense of humour.
yeah he always looks like that lol
Wonder if Derek will ever learn how to play without a slide. Until he does, he's just a male Bonnie Raitt.
su6oxone he most definitely does plays without it all the time you just don’t realize it because he’s that good
