- LoloYodel 2 camera/angle remix (3 cam on set 1) with soundboard audio.
Video One : "Lazy Cow" (darker, left of stage), thanks Jon B !
Video Two : obscure front of stage angle (2 angles incl. local TV?)
Video Three : left of stage, more colorful video recently signed by "Marbleizing Mike Hardy" (or "Shortiebighead") ... for which I only have set 1 ! Hmmmmm, please...
(This "3rd video" went through serious color/contrast adjustments).
Gratitude & thanks to those involved in the above videos !
This "Jerry Garcia Band" concert is considered exceptional !
Why ? Perhaps another "Hampton" outing, ... ?, Bruce Hornsby sitting in ...?, perhaps the commercial CD release ...? ... in any case, the music, energy and smiles are clearly there ! Indeed, a great JGB show.

This was our wedding song , all 16 minutes. The hippies loved it, the straights were slightly confused. Great !
Wow us too!
I so love stories like this. So heartwarming. Thank you for sharing (:
Hey now! Right on. 👆
True Magic
A long catholic wedding, now that's torture. This was a gift, at any time. Ultra groovy move.
Jerry always shined on slow ballads like this on his final years, a certain nostalgic feeling. His solo at the begginning... I have to stop everything im doing and just... listen.
Him and Tiger. To the end.
Not nearly his best but will always be my favorite. His music touches my heart everytime. Grateful always ❤️
90s jgb is so much better than 90s dead. Jerry seems so much more comfortable here
@@Johndoe-gd4tb agreed ❤️
I've turned into the biggest romantic listening to JGB
Jerry and Melvin exchanging eye contact is priceless...this is a band that listens and loves each other...just without equal and all that is right in this world
My dear brother plays this in the morning
I’m reminded that life is short and how precious life is! Thank you Chuck
Jerry is the house band...in heaven
Tom petty dies an st.petter is showing him around. Petty sees a big purple house with purple rain playing st.petter says thats where prince lives. Then petty sees a house with the song beat it play an st.petter said Michael Jackson lives there. Then petty sees this big house on the hill with tye dye every where an a stealie on the side. With dark star playing. An ask him whys Garcia have such a big house? St. Petter said thats not garcias its God.

my dog roach just passed, and two weeks ago my cat mj passed too :( we always listened to jerry together. i dunno about my cat but my roach absolutely loved the dead, i believe he could feel the love and joy this music brings me.
i sure hope roach and mj are together and enjoying jerry's music in heaven.
An example of Jerry making a good song a GREAT one.
Making a great song even greater!
The joy on Jerry's face just makes you feel how much he enjoyed playing other peoples songs that were his favorites, Awesome!
Wow...I was feeling down tonight, thinking of the craziness going on in the world, and got lucky and found this amazing piece of music and film. It settled my soul, and left me tearing, smiling, and brought me back into hopefulness. Jerry always had this way about him, and I miss him something terrible...Thanks for this gift!
Crying like a baby . A river runs through my heart. This is beautiful! Thank you 🙏👁💜👁💕✌🏻💓🦋🌞🌈😇🕊🍀🌻🌊🙌🏻
I think the Manhattans would approve of this cover...
I believe that 💯. Soul.
Back here on August 1st 2024 remembering the legendary Jerry Garcia!!!♥️ Happy 82nd Birthday!!!♥️Jerry, you are still Shining!!!♥️
this was our wedding song. Thank you Jerry for making it possible
ours too, some guests thought it was too long, funny, i didnt think is was long enough.
I would have had a blast at your wedding then your my kinda people! :)))
Even the Buddhas rejoice in Jerry! A perfect sound offering.
God bless him always, Jerry Garcia played so many types of songs well, but a soulful love song was right from the heart of him, and you can hear it in every word and note.
True. He mentioned before in an interview this was his favorite to perform with the JGB.
Wow that was great. This was the era when seeing a Jerry Garcia Band show was actually better than seeing a Grateful Dead show.
It really was since about 1980 in my opinion
The Dead had a few good years after 1980 but yeah. Things went downhill fast in 1982 but they bounced back a few times. 1989 for instance. But I hear ya.
@@stonefilmsnyc yes “80-“82” and ‘’87-‘90

You are so right

Me too, my sister. May she be enjoying sonic celestial magic in every moment of the eternal now.
If I were paid a penny everytime I've seen this, I'd have enough to buy a time machine and be in Hampton, VA on 11-9-1991. Pure joy!
Magic mushrooms May help?🍄🇺🇲🍄🌹🍄🌍🍄🌁🌁🌁🍄
i just thank god for all the tapers! imagine if GD live just didnt exist. my whole life would be different. Jerrys and especially Bobs playing has affected my own quite a bit. even trying phil stuff on bass...which i totally still cant do but....my point is at least we can enjoy real life magic that just happened to be recorded.
RIP GlOria Jones we love you so much - your my shining Star ❤️ 💗🌟 thanks then Now and always

Wherever there is true jamming, Jerry is looking down on us and smiling.
its not at dead and company, thats 4 sure!!!
@@tonis500 LMAO!!! I still love "Dead and Company" though. Especially Oteil, and Jeff interacting with John. The drummers save the day. Especially Billy! He's propelled them down the road/rails with consistent playing from the start. The drummers really keep it going!
Jerry was very subtle and understated, in many ways. He was the master of not playing "too much", yet "playing over the top", when needed. He knew what we needed(almost indescribably?), and would often bowl a strike!
If he didn't make it, get ready for an amazing spare that's never been done!
He'd pull that kind of stuff often.
A 'Great Thanks!', to every taper, some of the most interesting, exciting, incredible people with an incredible amount of depth and understanding of "American Music".
They're music will be sought far into the future!
"They're not the best at what they do..."
"They're the only ones that do what they do!"
@@tonis500 of course it is! He said he wanted to build something that outlasted him. Dead and Co teach these songs to a whole new generation. It can't be as good as the original, and it can't be the same, but I think from a purely musical standpoint he did what he set out to do. In a huge way he did it.
This is the absolute best version of this song ever performed and is one of many great performances given during 1991 - possibly the last last really strong and exceptionally beautiful year of Jerry's career before the final fall. It was clear he had way more fun in JGB than with the Dead around this time. Love seeing the old man belt it and break out that china cat grin on the last loud choruses of the song - he's having a good time!!
He connected like no other.
I think this time was his salvation after losing Brent, they had an incredible connection
the worcester version is better
I agree - he was finding more joy with the JGB and with the acoustic Grisman stuff. I wish he could have toned back from the Dead and the frenzy it had all become. the version of this from the Eel River shows is also a really beautiful version
I want to dance to this at my wedding someday.
+Danielle Socha I'd marry you just for that
Awwwww
Walked down the aisle to this song. And sweet thing was our first dance.
I did, Danielle :)
Beautiful
Lolo Yodel I did this entire tour, saw every single show with my girlfriend. We are no longer together, but this was hands down the happiest times in my life. Thank you so much for taking me back to those sweet times
PS. he played this song every night of the tour, and it still never got old...!
Memories, what a time to be so lucky,
Church right now❤🔔
This show in Hampton was exceptional! A few songs in when Jerry thanked Bruce for sittin' in, the crowd went wild with the Bruuuuuuuuuuce that resonated from the back of the Coliseum in a wave all the way to the stage. Jerry just stepped back, hands across guitar and surveyed the crowd. He knew he was on Bruce's turf for sure and that just made Bruce rock those ivories even more! This show is legendary!
Back again, just can't get enough of this song.......pure perfection!!!!!!!!
He's not even looking at his guitar while he solos. He just knows it and feels it, like I read him say in an interview he just jumps on little clouds of exploration. Only he does it effortlessly without even looking.
In truth ...No great seasoned player needs to look at their instrument...It simply not necessary..they' re great
seasoned players..just saying
repetition, hours practice with a lil
Doug Misantoni it’s bad practice to look at what you’re playing.
Ooooo, do we not all just miss him SO much...💙🎸😢
THANK YOU, JERRY!!!!!!!

Jerry n Jon ...love these souls
Melvin Jacki and Gloria... take me to church...that's how I felt Communion with the great spirit
4:49...the head shakes ,his eyes..peering ever so slightly..as is the Jerry pose..over his glasses and all the while creating what only can be described as Magic... truly a Shining star indeed.
Yes INDEED ! Bingo
One of the best things about Jerry’s playing was that no song was ever played the same way twice. Which means every performance is so unique that it’s imprinted on your brain, especially if you were there. I was here. I still hear it, with my eyes closed, even in my sleep, I would recognize this exact performance anywhere. Thank you, Jerry, thank you so much for this gift. And those back up singers, so amazing, so engaged with the audience. Very special.
Beautiful guitar work;I always had a hard time with the awkward timing changes on this song.So intricate and heart felt. Now I understand Jerry's reason for doing this Motown tune. This song caught me wrong the first time hearing it at Squa. Valley.Tremendous Jerry vocals to top it.PEACE.
Here I am almost 10 years later exactly. This song has been runnin' round my head for two weeks now. The music has not stopped. One love peeps.
My heart just cried tears of joy! Even after his life, Jerry still does it! Never heard this one before....
This is the one
I end up listening to this about 3 times a week!
this soothes souls! Jerry with Gloria and Jaclyn heals! Thank you for this!
Those 2 girls gave the band a smooth sound...😊
Jerry is my shining star, and will always be. Wished you never went away. I love you, Jerry Garcia!!!! xoxo
My dream to have this played at my wedding.. if that day ever comes that is (:
You wanna get married?😉...I thought at the least I could try and put a smiLe on your face. Apologies if offence is taken for being so forward.. even if the intentions weren't to be so bold in such a question to a stranger.
Honey you are my shining star
Don't you go away, oh baby
I wanna be right here where you are
Till my dying day, oh baby
So many have tried, tried to find
A love like yours and mine, oh baby
Don't you realise how you hypnotise me
Make me love you more each time, oh baby
Honey, I'll never leave you lonely
I'll give my love to you only, to you only
To you only
[chorus]
Feel so good when we're lying here next to each other
Lost in love, oh baby
Honey when we touch, I love you so much
You're all I ever dreamed of, oh baby
Honey, I'll never leave you lonely
I'll give my love to you only, to you only
To you only
Honey you are my shining star, don't you go away

Thankful for this footage. Thankful for Jerry. And for the music. And to be able to see him smile. Impossible to be unhappy watching this.
Is this video one of the divine things on Earth? Yes
Jerry is THE king!!!!!!
I met Jerry backstage at this show.. We hit it off and he offered to mentor me in my guitar playing pilgrimage. We became very close and he confided many of his deepest thoughts with me. Miss him very much!!! RIP Jerry my dear friend!!!
Is that right? Huh....forgive me if I am skeptical.

No question..Jerry was quoted in the Newspaper out of the Hampton-Roads area saying," it's my favorite venue on the East coast."...the band did always sound extra crispy there.
No doubt about it.

Maan, this is beyond words!!
amazing memories all flood back amazing show for me!!!! thks ks for taking me back
In one word, sweet.
this was best time I ever had at a show. probably was about first to pick a seat, general admission, so I rushed in--1st in line because I was so cold, under dressed, even though really wasn't all that cold. found myself right down front row stage right by roped off section. asked nice people who they were to find out it was Hornsby family and friends. I had stood there outside entrance 1st in line so long asking security lady how long til doors open. I knew this was special show but at time could not realize how significant it was cause I was 19. my friend s who took me said I was in for a real treat. they were little older and had baby boy, and were going wharf rat section so I was seated myself alone-- but then heard some one from behind my name. around and it was old childhood friend I hadn't seen for years. anyway thanks so much Kathy and Mark for taking me my first JGB. all great but my highlights--never can tell, s. star, w world and 2nd emotions plus how sweet, hell it ws all great. went on Charlotte as well.
As close to heaven as you can get from down here
AMAZING rendition of Shining Star
Spectrum show on this tour was the gem. Similar set list, Jerry animated and just a sweet as it gets.
Just take your time with it, Jerry. So beautiful.

undescribable because there is not words that exist !
Was there.. has been by favorite JGB song since.. truly amazing..
Wow. And singers today are so quick to call themselves legends. Jerry throws shade from beyond, hes got us covered. We lived in the age of Jerry Garcia.
I heard this song at the UCLA pavilion in the 90s. I haven't been the same. I miss Jerry
I remember this song when I was a little girl and the Manhattans did it the Manhattans performed it. then in 1988 in Landover I saw Jerry perform it and I cried. I sang this song Every Day to my son when he was born he is now 21 I just got back from seeing the dead and Company in Boulder it was a beautiful time but I still miss Jerry
i wore this live cassette out in my car in late 90’s :( they found this gem on youtube years later :) top 3 Jerry jam for me all time,...the second jam builds and takes you to a wonderful place, cheers all
I have the biggest smile hearing this song. Jerry you are my shining star miss you so much RIP my friend.
Love this film. Thanks so much 🎶♥️🎶🌹🎶🚀🎶
Well,Well, Well I want to say great job documenting this Glorious show! Seeing Jerry Smile So BIG & playing just truly out of this world Filled my very Soul Then and Now. I was There sitting in front between Jer' & Bruce with a very special woman who was my Shining Star,. My name is Stephen, I had a friendship of sorts with Jerry after meeting him at the Spectrum in "87 but had been on the bus so to speak since seeing JGB in '83 at the tender age of thirteen 12/2/83. Saying all that I think? IM
Praise be to this goodness...
My 1st husband dedicated sang n danced to this song with me u never forget 1st love...
Man I love this song..
Can't stop listening to this, everyday once or twice, it's so good
Worked for a dude tday that had on a dead shirt flooded me with so many good memories I couldn’t help but cry I hadn’t listened to the boys for I know ten years that was two days ago I haven’t turned them off yet greatest days of my life
so beautiful!
God jerry is on fire in jam solos, I got transported to Indonesia & was gliding up and down the most amazing wave of my life, then turned in a colodiscope of colors and musical notes being thrown into the air as I finally emerge from this most amazing dance in my mind. I MISS JERRY SO GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE MUSIC AND YEARS, CHEERS!!!😆😅😲😍😎
Simply put...Thank You 🙏✌😎
Man I miss this guy ..been so long but my heart still aches to hear him.
Thanks for posting. I was at this show.
If this doesnt give you all the feels... move along. Jerry is dialed.. so happy.. so dialed. Pure sex, esp for the 90's. WOWZA'S!
wow, just so, so good!
I worked in a factory and the music tha we heard on a daily basis was easy listening. This song was part of the radio stations rotation. When Jerry played the first few notes I found it hard to believe that is where he was going. I thought my ears were playing tricks. Every time i go back to hampton i think about where i was standing when the played this song.
No one, and I mean no one, played like Jerry. I hope my playing with touch even a shred of this mans depth.
The world sucks without Jerry.
Jerry well coiffed as always
Best one ever! Love this!
A beautiful version. For me, second only to the one from the same venue in '93. This was indeed a very special evening even among JGB shows.
our love song💜 #KenyaAndPete💋
I believe Jerry had a much better time playing in his own band. Smiled a lot more and just seemed so happy playing all great tunes!
So true but you can't forget Brent though.
@@zacjohnson164i think the pressure of the GD machine + some tension in the band made Jerry resent HAVING to play. With JGB he could be himself, not have to worry about taking care of everyone else
What is there to say? His stage fright, drug addiction, obesity, responsibility to keep paying roadies. We all had a role in his deaths
Walking threw the sky from star to star.life on the shining star thanks Jerry for magic
Love what you did w/ the different angles! My wife and I danced to Shining Star @ our wedding, so anytime I can find a new video of it, I get all warm and fuzzy inside and can't wait to get home to show her!! Thanks! :-)
I was in portland when I Garcia passed. I caught JGB's show at ROSELAND soon after and sobbed uncontrollably on the dance floor and didn't feel the slightest embarrassment. it was cathartic.
